Guilt Trip of the AntiChrist

Guilt Trip of the AntiChrist

How I wish I could divest myself of
These prim christian teachings—
Break lose these bonds that restrain me—
And go howling down the line.
Not for Fortune or Glory in the service
Of those in need of my trusty sword,
No Knights of the Templar for me.
But to go screaming like the wild savages,
Viking Berserkers,
Boudicca losing the Celtic hoard on the Roman trespasser.
I wish to hoist my tankard to the
Pagan Gods,
Revel in the blood lust,
The Roman orgies,
Indulge the carnal till like a blood swollen tick
I’ll explode in a shattering flame of grandeur
Cometing across the sky, Phoenix like,
To land softly
And sleep the unapologic, satiated sleep
Of those Viking warrior kings
Who knows their souls
Are promised to Valhalla.
