Out of the Shadows
A/N: This lovely little story was inspired as I though of a back ground for my two role playing chartists Ebony and Odin that I had made for a chat that is now sadly gone"¦ ;.; though I still love them and so I feel the need to write down their story as I still use them for other RP's Now I have done drawings of Ebony and Odin which can be found here at http://dragonofrain.deviantart.com/
Out of the Shadows
The streets were dark and dirty like they always were. In the air seemed to be the smell of death that came everyday to someone in this city who managed to cross the wrong person or died of a drug overdose. Always death in this seedy town where murder for hire wasn't unknown and many managed to make a living off of killing those who most would never even want to see. A city full of demons, vampires and so many other things that only appeared in nightmares. A city that was ran by mobs fighting with one another for territory of the large city.
The street lamps cased a hazy and rather harsh yellow gold light over the dark night giving off a false since of safety that the man who walked down the sidewalk knew was a lie. The tall man walked home his slender hands deep in his pockets of his black pants. This man was one of many hitmen in the city but he was one of the best known only as Ebony for his dark clothing and black hair. He was one of the best as he always got the jobs done without ever being seen like a ghost in the night he would strike and be gone before anyone knew what happen. He was walking down the sidewalk on his way home ready to go to bed after such a long night but that wasn't to be as from one of the alleyways he walked past he heard a soft cry.
Ebony looked around and not seeing anyone around ducked into the ally where he hear the soft cry come from. Nothing could prepare him for what he saw next as he walked a little ways into the dingy trash filled ally way. Curled up next to a dumpster was a small frail looking child naked covered in cuts, scraps, burses, and dirt. The young boy's hair matted with dried blood was black like his own only the young boys bangs that hung down in his face were a deep red. The boy gave Ebony a fearful look as he came closer.
"I'm not going to hurt you"¦" Ebony whispered in his soft voice as he crouched down next to the boy with out stretched arms.
The boy looked at him puzzled with his crimson cat-eye like eyes as the child wondered what Ebony was going to do. Slowly the boy stood up on shaky legs and walked over to Ebony and fell into Ebony's arms unable to stay up anymore. Ebony wrapped his arms around the frail child hugging him.
"Your okay now little one"¦" Ebony whispered in the boys pointed ear.
Slowly the boy calmed down as he laid his head on Ebony's broad shoulder clinging to him like a child would to its mother. Ebony slowly pulled away from the child to get a better look at him. The boy's face was slender, his eyes were slightly slanted. The boys frame even at a young age was thin and he was very short. Even at this young age the boy was very attractive.
"My name is Ebony." He whispered as he pulled his black hoody off and gave it to the boy to ware.
"Mine's Odin"¦" the boy said in a horse voice as he pulled on the hoody which do to the fact that Ebony was 6'1 it went down past Odin's knees.
"Let's get you cleaned up." Ebony whispered softly
Ebony once more pulled the boy close this time picking him up. Out of surprise Odin wrapped his arms around Ebony's neck to keep from falling. Ebony walked quickly to his apartment. Ebony carried Odin with ease as he came up to the apartment and didn't even falter as he got his keys out to unlock the door. Once he was inside he set Odin down on the leather sofa as Odin had fallen asleep on the way to the apartment and Ebony didn't have the hard to wake the boy so laying a blanket over the small child let him sleep.
