An Angel that Was Me...

Title: An Angel that Was Me...
Author: Silverfang
Rating: R for angst, of course.

Summary: The longest poem I ever wrote. I thought I posted it, but...The result of extreme depression.

Warning: People have told me that I was crazy. I whole-heartedly agree with them. I am suicidal, bipolar, schitzoid, and just plain nuts. ^_^ Gotta\' love me though.

~An Angel that Was Me...~

The crumbles of three
\'Neath shade of black tree
An angel lies dying
But no, it\'s not me.

A piece twisted and broken
Stepped on and cracked
A part now so mangled
It can never go back.

She\'s hurt now and crying
Blood and grey tears
Shadows of her past
Worth thousands of years.

An angel I was once
Now fallen to hell
Far out of reach
Of light\'s clear-rung bell.

A part of me\'s dying
I can\'t reach her now
I\'d save her if I could
But I don\'t see how.

Broken in half
I\'ve been twisted in two
Only by his grace*
I\'ve been forged anew.

Cut down the tree?
It...might set her free
Might kill us both
We don\'t wish to see.

Kill her off...how?
We could, but not now
Soon she\'ll have bled
And then she\'ll be dead.

We wanted to save her
We couldn\'t till now
We could let her die here
We couldn\'t care how.

Part of us flies
And part of us falls
Half in the skies
Half trapped by walls.

Walls made of flesh
So easy to cut
Let\'s go along now
Let her out we must.

Wait now, you promised
You promised him no
You swore to the both of us
You\'d strike not this blow.

Hold yourself in now
We\'ve kept our promise to you
Come through and save us
Save your soul too.

Pushing and shoving
Thoughts in my head
Hurting now sometimes
I wish I was dead.

You can\'t let them see this
You can\'t let them know
That this final poem
Knows the end of the show.

Facades and masks
Let\'s hide our pasts
Run now and hide
Stupid little girl.

Shadows and crying
Red and few tears
Visions of death
Last all through my years.

Run off and hide now
Show not the world
That inside you\'re only
A broken dead girl.

Coming to life
Isn\'t easy; it\'s true
You never even knew when
Our time was through.

Kissed you goodbye
Then died on the spot
All went to heaven
Well thanks a lot.

Left here in darkness
Scared and alone
Well...it\'s okay now
I\'ve made it my own.

We...think we\'re okay now
Like anyone cares
Oh...wait just a minute
Back up the stairs.

Smile for a moment
You forgot that *he* cared
Bad, now don\'t do that
How could you have dared?

We spend so much time
Trying to make him see
The proof of his worth
How much he means to me.

Burn down the tree now
Let\'s set her free
No, damn you, stop it
Listen to me.

He swore that he\'d love you
Will you still set her free?
After everything he\'s done?
All the changes we\'ve seen?

No...well, I guess not
We made our mistake
Let\'s leave us alone now
Just close the gate.

You made him a promise
Ashes to dust
You gave him our word
Keep it we must.
