Chapter 1
The sky was a stark black, yet a sliver of morning blue could barley be seen, proving it was indeed early in the morning, around three if one bothered to look at a clock. However late, or early it was, the streetlights were still on, the yellow glow illuminated the streets, painting them with the same soft glow.
The city streets of Japan were total opposite from the calm sky. They were buzzing with loud noises and you could feel the excitement in the air. Clubs were buzzing with the sounds of people jabbering with the latest gossip and music blared from the multiple social gathering spots, mingling into one loud, deafening sound to those of sensitive hearing.
The stench of vomit and shrilling chuckling was erupting from the dark, damp alleyways. Drunkards drank and stumbled over each other, spilling their most perverted fantasies and whistling at any non-suspecting innocent-looking girl who walked by.
One such innocent young girl, alone stumbled a girl with short black hair in jagged angles and beautiful crystalline blue eyes, clutching a backpack and a small suitcase scared to even look off of the ground, fearing she would be kidnapped, hurt or worse. She had been walking for several days with nowhere to go and she hadn’t had a single bit to eat, the pain in her stomach lingering and stabbing at her.
She was exhausted from walking for so long, her eyes began to droop and her feet screamed with agony. Through half closed eyes, she spotted a very tiny and narrow dark alley unoccupied by the drunks, perhaps one of the only ones. Her heavy legs lead her to the small passage and collapsed under her. She buried her head between her knees and winced from the salty hotness of fresh tears out of fear as she what her folks said about dark alleys and how dangerous they were, alleyways were always havens for sick demented perverts. Hiccups escaped her throat, which only made her cry out of frustration. She always hated the hiccups; she could never get rid of them.
What no one seemed to notice was that she hailed from the land American and wasn’t an ounce of Japanese, her genetics lead her to be full-fledged German. When she’d arrived at Japan, she hand dyed her jet-black hair, ruining her blonde locks to blend in as half Japanese; she didn’t want to draw attention to herself, she despised exsessive attention. She actually did look like an Asian at first glance.
After a few moments of exhaustion and rubbing the sores on her feet, the hollow sound to a can clattering on the ground rang in her ears and sent the girl into high alert. Her eyes darted all over the small space, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up straight and she jumped back from the direction of the sound, a knot of worry in her stomach.
