Infamous Family
Kessie Marie was now nearing her sixth birthday and she was in Kindergarten. Connor Michael was three now. The Christmas Puppy, June, the little mutt, was as fat and happy as any canine could get, and also thought she was a cat. June thought she was a cat because there was five cats that lived in the hours with the rest of the family. The five cats around the house, the five family ‘familiar’ cats were as happy and content as any animals could be. There was the old greyish blue tabby cat, Jazzy; the tiger striped kitten named by Connor as “Big, flesh eating tiger,” also known as just Tiger; there was the three year old black and white cat named ‘Samuel James III, after his two preceding brothers. Raquella’s two cats were named Magick, a long and lanky black cat and the pure white cat named Snowflake.
Raquella and Lucilla had been thinking about getting another child, but didn’t want to worry about the ‘father’ of the child coming around at some later date and taking their baby. Adoption sounded promising, but they didn’t like that idea when they were told it would take four years to adopt a child.
Raquella and Lucilla had traveled almost four hours one day when they received an interesting and promising letter from a small town in northern Canada from a doctor saying that he wanted them to participate in an experimental procedure free of charge.
Kessie and Connor stayed with their very happy Uncle Charlie while the women went out of town for the weekend.

\"You mean to tell me that we can have another child without a man?\" Raquella said later, at the doctor’s office, sitting in a small room with Lucilla.
\"Yes,\" the doctor said, \"But it will be a girl...\"
\"Darn,\" Raquella said, smiling, \"I wanted a boy, there is a Y chromosone in Lucilla, you’ll just have to dig for it...\"
Lucilla laughed, and the doctor shook his head, \"Who will carry this child?\"
Lucilla stopped laughing and looked at Raquella, \"I think that she will...\"
Raquella nodded, \"Very well... I will doctor.\"
After a quick swab of the inner cheek, a few hours waiting, the doctor was ready to start the experimental procedure. He implanted five embryos into Raquella’s healthy uterus and told them the name of a doctor they could see closer to Montreal.
No man needed...
A week later, Raquella told Charlie the good news, he was excited, \"You can still work in the office so I won’t have to fire you...\" He said.
Raquella hugged him, \"You’re so understanding, Charlie!\"
Raquella went home that night and thought about what had happened a week before. She grabbed the pregnancy test she had purchased during her lunch break and walked towards the bathroom. She peaked in on Connor, taking his afternoon nap.
She then set the test on the counter top and went to start dinner.
Lucilla had come home and brought Kessie with her. \"Hi honey.\" Lucilla kissed Raquella and looked at Kessie. Raquella asked Kessie, \"how was school?\"
Kessie went to start her homework and Lucilla went to the bathroom. Raquella was putting potatoes on to boil when she heard Lucilla’s scream. Fearing the worst, Raquella ran down the hallway.
Raquella entered the bathroom and there was the pregnancy test, in Lucilla’s hand \"Oh, I forgot to check that...\" Raquella said innocently. Lucilla smiled and hugged her. \"OUR baby... nobody else... just us...\" Lucilla said as she smiled.
