The Myth Of Love

Authors\' Notes: (A message from DDarknight--This story is a little different than most I will do, partially because The Myth Of Love is a collaboration between my girlfriend, Innocent Moonlight, and myself. It is done more in the style of storyboard RPG\'s, thus often changes point of view. However, this gives the reader a unique view...into the minds of predator and prey. I have you enjoy reading The Myth Of Love, and come back for more.)
Warnings: on individual Chapters, Standard warnings: Vampslash, BP, anal, oral, rim, graphic sex

All of his life he’d been told vampires were nothing more than a myth born of ignorance, reincarnated in almost angelic perfection by Hollywood. The point being...they were no more real than elves, pixies, fairy dust, or the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If that were true, he could only assume he’d lost all touch with reality at some point in his short life. That he was trapped for the remainder of his days in the whimsical fantasies his mind wove around him. Not an entirely unappealing possibility, but Julian much preferred to just accept that they’d been wrong. Extremely, wonderfully, beautifully wrong, all the proof he needed sprawled across the bed in the next room.

Rory found him on the streets a week ago, Julian so desperate for food he’d been willing to do anything, pride and honor be damned. A proposition he’d blatantly made to anyone who’d hear him out...including Rory. The unnervingly dark man had spun on his heel mid stride, pinning Julian with an all too eerie gaze, but that hadn’t stopped him. By that time he was so hungry he didn’t care anymore. All he wanted was a hot meal, a hot shower, and a warm soft place to rest his head, Julian willing to do whatever he had to for those sweet luxuries. Rory’s warnings going unheeded, he’d finally struck a bargain with Julian. He had some odd jobs he needed done around his house, and Julian needed a way off the streets. There was no reason they couldn’t help each other.

Julian had known than that Rory’s offer was too good to be true, that there had to be a catch, but what the hell? What did he have to loose? Nothing. His parents had kicked him out a year and a half before, leaving Julian with no money, no place to go, and no one to turn to. He’d stayed with a few friends for a time, but eventually he ran out of options and landed on the streets. That was eight months and countless nightmares ago; Julian gaining an education that far exceeded his seventeen years. There just wasn’t anywhere for him to go anymore, every road he turned down a dead end, Rory giving him one last chance. An opportunity he’d accepted without delay.

Two days later Julian learned first hand exactly what the ‘catch’ was. He’d cut his finger while slicing potatoes for dinner, a minor accident, certainly nothing to write home about. The next thing he knew Rory was at his side, examining the wound with far more interest than he thought was natural, and then... Well, Rory was carrying him to his room, and Julian was descending back down to Earth on the wings of angels, and a pint short of blood. Everything changed then, Rory gaining a willing donor, and in return granting Julian his greatest desire...a place he could finally call home.

Simple enough, if not for the twist that neither of them foresaw, an unexpected side effect that complicated Julian’s end of the bargain. Not that he was entirely sure Rory was even aware of the affect he had on Julian. Nor could Julian actually claim there was a problem, at least not if he discounted the confusion and turmoil he’d suffered for several days. But, as much as he’d tried to deny it at first, Julian could no longer ignore the cold hard facts. The brutal reality that every time Rory fed from him, cradling Julian in his strong embrace, soothing and caressing him...Julian walked away wanting far more. A shocking revelation that had damn near destroyed his world, never once in his life having found himself attracted to another man. This, though, this went far deeper than just an infatuation, Rory infecting even his dreams, Julian unable to escape his growing desires no matter where he turned. And, at this point...he didn’t want to. Granted, that didn’t mean he wasn’t edgy as all hell, but...again...what did he have to loose?

Julian spun and walked to the door separating their rooms, nervously chewing on the corner of his mouth as he considered what he was about to do. Perhaps attempting to seduce an ancient vampire wasn’t the wisest idea he’d ever had, but he liked the way Rory made him feel. Even more so, he loved those deeply intense, all too brief moments, Julian wishing he knew how to make them last longer. All he could really do was try, and pray all too hell Rory didn’t kick him out...or kill him. Not at all thrilling prospects, but if he didn’t try, he’d never know.

His mind made up, Julian opened the door and walked into Rory’s room, his pale green gaze settling on the dark vampire. A lingering stare that grazed over the man’s well defined muscles, Rory in nothing more than a pair of black silk pajama bottoms. The unexpected sight slammed into him without warning, sending liquid heat coiling through his body, Julian doing his damndest to ignore it. And, still, he couldn’t resist the pull that drew him relentlessly toward the object of his desire. Until those smoldering, midnight blue orbs shifted from the TV to him, eyes that whispered promises of a thousand secrets held in the shadowy depths. The piercing gaze stopped him dead in his tracks, Julian stifling the icy chills racing down his spine, Rory arching an elegant eyebrow in quiet curiosity.

His voice failing him, Julian managed little more than a breathy whisper that sounded entirely too husky to his own ears, “Hungry?”

A slow predatorily smile washed over Rory’s regal features, gone an instant later, leaving the boy to wonder if he’d imagine the dangerous smirk. “Always,” he stated softly, turning the TV off and tossing the remote on the nightstand.

Staring at the vampire Julian had to wonder again if this was such a good idea. Chewing his lip anxiously, he carefully approached, running a nervous hand through thick chestnut brown hair, silently cursing himself as he sat on the bed. This was no different than any other feeding, except… Except that tonight Julian wanted more from the man who had saved him. Looking up at Rory, he couldn’t help but feel small compared to the vampire’s overall persona. Rory just seemed filled a room simply by being there.

Settling closer to Rory, he pulled his hair to one side of his neck before reaching out to gently caress the smooth planes of the vampire’s chest, Julian resting his head on the man’s shoulder. His hand stopped just over Rory’s non-beating heart, shivering at the chilled skin beneath his fingertips. Looking up he gave the man a small smile, wondering vaguely if Rory already knew his plans, whether the ancient vampire was just humoring a young boy’s silly fantasy.

Watching the human approach from beneath thick lashes; the lush, black veils hid whatever emotions flitted through the shadowy depths of his dark eyes. He could sense Julian’s desire, smell the lust burning through the boy’s veins, making everything Julian did…that much more intriguing. As for his innocent submission, well that just made Julian all the more irresistible to Rory, drawing him irrevocably to drink deep the scarlet fluid that granted him some semblance of life. Gently tilting Julian’s head back, their gazes locked for the briefest of moments, orbs of midnight blue sliding away elusively. Eyes that denied the boy all the answers he so desperately sought, Rory refusing to solve the mystery Julian was so ensnared by. However, he took willingly what Julian freely gave, Rory tracing the heavy artery in his donor’s neck, the vessel skittering wildly beneath his fleeting touch, calling to him on a level the boy could never understand. He leaned close, teasingly brushing his lips against the silken skin, his breath wafting down Julian’s throat, promising ecstasy unbound. Games he had enjoyed since well before Julian’s time, building within the boy anticipation, expectation, Rory tauntingly scraping his razor sharp fangs along the boy’s heated flesh, desensitizing the area.

He waited breathlessly for that brief agony; one that he knew would be followed closely by an ecstasy so powerful he could barely think. Biting his lip to hold back the moan at the first feel of Rory\'s fangs, Julian shifted closer, pressing the length of his body against the vampire’s, his shaft already beginning to harden from just the faintest touch to his neck. Never had he considered his throat especially sensitive, but one caress from Rory and all he wanted to do was melt into the vampire\'s arms. Shivering in anticipation he could no longer hold back the moan as Rory toyed with him. \"Please, Rory,\" he whispered softly, daring to press his neck against the vampire\'s fangs, gasping softly with need.
