Not Today
Not Today
She looks at the world around her and thinks of all the evils,
She brings the blade to rest against her skin,
Not cutting just resting there,
Dangerously aligned with her vein.
Thoughts of friends and family stop her,
As she remembers her younger family members and pulls the blade away,
She sighs, nope not today.
Everyday she gets closer to the edge of not caring
Everyday they push her closer
Everyday they push her further away from them
Driving her slowly insane.
But she doesn\'t care
She\'ll stay while she is needed.
What they see of her isn\'t real,
They don\'t see the pain
Beneath the facade,
Behind the mask.
She just nods and tries to smile,
No one knows and for that she is glad,
Because someday, will be the right day
She won\'t care about them anymore,
And that\'ll be the day the blade slices,
The blade cuts,
The day the blade takes away all of her pain.
But not today she tells herself as she walks away,
No, not today.
She looks at the world around her and thinks of all the evils,
