My name is Miina Baptiste Les Camp....I am an artist here,In the city of
Une vie Pire que la Mort....Or living death.
The city was given this name in the year 3018,the same year my mother was born....
It was after the legendary technical melt down that led to the apocalyptic-esque break
down of modern elctronic society in 2078 that eventually led to the epidemic.
This coming only 40 years after the great earthquake of 2038,which killed almost half of
the worlds population,sending it into the ocean...America was split down the middle,
sending the middle into the sea.Leaving the east and west coast,which became naught
but two islands no bigger then Texas...
As the legend goes,In 2093,just 15 years after the world went dark,and water stopped
flowing....The republic of devine freedom as the east coast was re named,was the only
one pulling itself back together technologically,setting up a new government and
restoring some power.
The only downfall was what came up out of the ruins....
As it turns out after years of government repression and global ignorance Vampires
werent just fairy stories,and horror movie ghouls....
This realisation led to many deaths,and what was said to be the worst epidemic since
the plague...This up rising led to the 'Revolution de sang' or the Blood revolution...
Vampire covens from around the world began to rise up from the underworld,and make
their presence known.This city in particular became the largest,and most populated in
the world.
In 3027 the city was broken down into 4 quarters,each coven taking claim of one.
There is the Government quarter,in the north where Officiales mingle,le devin,or the
church quarter,in the south,where most mortals hide now...The red quarter,in the east,a
place where mortals and immortals integrate..And the black quarter,a hunting spot,no
mortal dares to travel in the west..
A city ordinance was passed years ago,To cut down all the Vampire related human
deaths in the Ville'....It stated that all mortal residents were to remain dormant during the
nights,To lock their doors and windows and to stay inside their respective quarters.
However in the red quarter it is safe for a mortal to go out at night,so long as you stay
away from the coven dwellings,for no blood is safe there.
Mostly hipsters and radicals live here,often spending their days like vampire's,Sleeping
it away...At night was when the city came alive...
Neon illuminated the streets and 'Blood Clubs' were all the rage...Especially the one
across the street from my flat...'Rouge de Sang' Or blood red...
It was a hotspot for Vampire's to find Paramours...Or Bleeder's as their known...Mortal's,
mostly women,who willingly volunteer their blood to more then willing Vamps.
I stayed clear of those though,I preferred to watch,and not be seen...Sitting on my
balcony and watching as they crowded the streets..
