Something To Say

A.N. Okay, ladies an\' gents, this one is very...um, musical. I\'m a musician, so I thought I\'d write one I could relate to. The vocal bits can get a little confusing, so I\'ll leave the song title after the chapter if anyone wants to know what they were singing. END A.N.

“What are you doing?”

He lifted the fork to his mouth, nibbling the sweet confection from the end of it and making her envy that food. He gave her a sexy, suggestive half-grin. “Eating cherry pie.” One perfect blonde brow lifted, daring- no, begging her to comment.

She’d known Sebastian since her brother had started his band ten years ago. Back then, she was only eleven years old and didn’t give a damn about anything but going to the library.

Sebastian had been a tall, built man at the young age of seventeen. He’d always worn his streaky-blonde hair below the shoulders and a five o’clock shadow that he said made him look older.

Not much had changed. His shoulders were broader, his muscular torso a little more defined, but he still looked the same, even as a rock star. Except his ego had grown, and he’d set his sights on her.

Lily put her hands on her hips. “My brother is going to kill you. That was for after dinner.”

He lifted one chiseled shoulder, smirking, and setting those sky blue eyes on her.

She could feel her body heat up just from his gaze.

He pushed the pie plate aside and leaned forward on the table. He curled his finger and beckoned her closer.

She leaned down, unable to stop herself.

His full, moist bottom lip came out in a pout, causing her eyes to glue themselves there. “You’re not gonna tell on me, are you?”

She shook her head, dragging her wide eyes to his. She wanted to kiss him so bad that she shook with it.

He sat back with a grin. “Good.”

Lily blinked once, twice, to rid herself of the deep longing that shot through her, then spun and stalked away before she made the worst mistake of her life.

According to rumor, and some fact that she had to back it up, Sebastian had very robust sexual appetites. He enjoyed being a star and apparently had his pick of the ladies.

Well, look at him, she thought. It’s not like girls stand a chance against that.

She grabbed a novel from her bag and found her brother’s easy chair in his library. She vaguely noted a presence in the room, but was too caught up in her book to pay them any mind. Just as she’d begun reading the love scene, the person moved. They stopped just in front of her.

She lowered the book, her eyes meeting with Sebastian’s from his kneeling position in front of her.

She gasped, tucking the book, covered with a picture of two lovers in an intimate embrace, behind her back. The virile man on the cover reminded her of Sebastian. That’s the reason she’d bought it.

His thick lashes lowered over his striking eyes. “Did I interrupt something?” His head tilted as a little smirk lifted the corners of his mouth.

“Uh, no,” she said quickly.

He ran his hands up the outsides of her thighs until his long, calloused fingers wrapped themselves around her wrists where they clutched the book behind her.

Lily quivered as sensation dashed over her nerve endings.

His mouth lifted on one corner and his eyes twinkled devilishly. “Can I see?”

She shook her head.

His insolent bottom lip appeared again. “Please.”

Her head moved left to right again.

He withdrew his hands slightly, letting them rest on her hips. “I think I can… persuade you.”

Her eyes widened. “No.”

A grin spread slowly over his face.

“No!”

He ghosted his fingertips over her ribs making her jerk.

“Oh, please don’t…”

He put full pressure on his fingertips, making her laugh until her insides hurt with his merciless tickling.

He wrestled her to the ground, but she managed to keep the book out of his grasp. When his hand went to the sensitive inside of her knee, she gave in, reluctantly handing the book over, wiping the moisture from the corners of her eyes that had escaped during her laughter.

He inspected the cover, flashing her a look, then stood, moving to the place his thumb had been holding.

He read in silence for nearly five minutes, turning pages, his cerulean eyes moving over the print as Lily’s face grew pink with embarrassment and anxiety.

She got up and turned away.

Sebastian caught her wrist, pulling her back around.

“Does your brother know you read this stuff?” he asked his eyes alight with something dangerous.

She lifted her chin. “I’m a big girl.”

He placed his hands on her hips, drawing her against him, grinding his pelvis into hers. He was long and thick, hard against her lower belly. “I know,” he replied quietly, his gaze making her shiver.

Her eyes went wide and she sought his.

He lowered his head so that his mouth was beside her ear. “The things I read… I want to do those things to you,” he said, his voice a deep husky rumble.

Her lips parted on a gasp and she gave a little moan, her body quivering with awareness and a deep longing that made her want to give in.

“What the hell’s going on here?”

Lily’s head jerked up and she quickly stepped away from Sebastian. “Tom, hi.” She went to him. “Tom, this is Sebastian, a long-time friend of my brother’s.”

Tom shook his hand warily, as if afraid he was contagious. “I’m her fiancé.” He gave a tight lipped smile.

Sebastian looked grim.

“I’ve come to drop of some more china patterns for the new house, honey,” Tom said.

Lily gave him a reassuring smile. “Oh, okay. Let me get my book and I’ll meet you in the kitchen.” He kissed her on the cheek and left.

She held out her hand to Sebastian. “Can I have my book?”

The muscle in his jaw ticked dangerously as he nodded. He laid the book in her hands. “Congratulations, Lily.” He stomped off, leaving Lily in a stunned silence to stare after him.

She collected herself, grabbing her bag. She placed the strap over her shoulder and went to find Tom.

He was seated at the dining room table with Shawn.

“Hey, little sister,” Shawn greeted when she sat. He stood and kissed her on the cheek. “Have fun.” He strode out of the room.

Lily sat the book down and dropped her bag to the floor.

Tom glanced at the novel, picking it up. “I don’t know why you read this trash.”

That chafed a little. “Tom, I write that trash.”

He gave an irritated sigh. “That’s just a phase, honey. You’ll grow out of it.”

Lily frowned, anger sweeping through her.

“I’ve got the patterns.” He lifted a box from the floor and set it on the table, opening it. He lifted out various pieces of flatware and silverware. “What do you think?”

She graced the items with a sweeping glance. “It’s fine.” She took a deep, calming breath and stood. “I’m sure you have get back to the office. I’ll show you out.” She knew it was rude, but she didn’t care. She just couldn’t deal with him right then.

He followed her to the door, kissing her on the cheek. “I’ll call you when I get to my place.”

She nodded, offering a weak smile and closed the door behind him, leaning against it with a sigh.

She had the sudden urge to write and headed for the office her brother had set up for her. It brought her past his recording studio and she stopped when she saw the door open. He never left the door open.

“Shawn?” she called, peeking around the door jamb.

Sebastian was sitting on a barstool with a big pair of black headphones over his ears that prevented him from hearing her. She watched, fascinated, as his fingers flew over the frets and he started to sing.

She caught the sound of Shawn’s voice and surmised that they were rehearsing.

She positioned herself against the door as he slipped the headphones from his head and brushed a hand through his hair, shifting the locks so they flipped to one side and hung low over his eye.

At that moment his eyes met hers and he frowned.

He turned back to the band. “Frankie, let’s try Hard To Handle.”
