Unexpected Love
When Brooke heard her parents call her downstairs she wondered what it could possibly be. I haven’t done anything lately, she thought. When she arrived downstairs she saw both of her parents sitting at the kitchen table, her mothers eyes red with tears, the only word that came into her brain was “trouble” she sat down at the kitchen table and felt both scared and confused, she did not know what to say, she just looked back and forth between her parents.
“Did grandma die?” the words came out of her mouth before she even thought about it.
“No sweetie” her father said. “We need to talk to you”
“Well what is it!? The both of you are freaking me out”
“well” said her father-
Her mother broke in “this bastard you call your father is leaving us”
Brooke suddenly looked at her father, she was so confused why would he do that she wondered, what’s happening, she braced herself for the rest…
“YOUR HAVING AN AFFAIR?!” Brooke screamed shakily. “how could you do that to mom?”
“Honey I know” her mother said soothingly, she then looked at her husband. Him and his 25 year old bimbo are running off to New York together”
“Where?” she asked.
“New York” her mother chimed in again
Brooke closed her eyes as if this was a bad dream, her parents seemed so happy, how could her father do this.“When?” Brooke said coldly.
“Sweetie look, I still love you very much, this has nothing to do with you”
“IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH ME! I’M YOUR DAUGHTER! AND YOUR LEAVING US?” she screamed
She looked over at her mother and saw how upset she was, she went over and whispered in her ear “I’m sorry mom, we’ll be okay”. She then glared at her father, never wanting to see him again
Brooke could not take or hear anymore, she stood up from her chair slowly and left her parents behind, she closed the door to her room behind her and stood there, frozen in time, tears slowly rolled down her cheek. She went to her bed, and just lied there for a while, she later drifted into sleep wishing to wake up and to find out this was all just a bad dream.
Brookes’ life was perfect, she was not your typical “popular” girl that everyone hated, but the popular girl that everyone loved. She had everything, the perfect car, the perfect friends. She was the captain of the cheerleading squad and made pretty decent grades. She was a pretty normal teenage girl with normal parents, little did she know that her father was having an affair…

“Gabe” she said as she awoke from her nap. She needed someone to talk to, and Gabe her best friend always made her feel better when times were rough
They had been best friends since the first grade….Friends, she thought. Brooke had fallen for Gabe over the summer, she didn’t know it but he had fallen for her too, they never expressed themselves to eachother though.
Although she had a boyfriend, Stephen, she did not know if she felt that strongly for him, they’d only been together about a month, and he didn’t mean half as much to her as Gabe did… She started to cry softly again at the thought of how selfish her father had been, and how she needed to be there for her mother, but she needed to talk to Gabe. She wanted him so bad, the thought of her giving herself to him clouded her mind, there were so many times when she wanted to tell Gabe how she felt, but she could never find the strength to tell him how she felt….
Gabe sat at his desk in his room, trying to focus on his homework Damn, he thought. I cant do this shit right now. Gabe Peterson had his own apartment, his parents died only just last year in a plane crash when he was 17, and they’d left everything to him, he refused to live with his grandparents because he didn’t want to leave. They trusted him to live by himself by him being almost an adult, he had a very nice apartment not too far from where he used lived. He threw parties often and always had friends over, but lately he seemed to feel empty and lonely…
For some reason his mind was on Brooke, He would always think of her from time to time, but tonight he could not get her out of his mind. At the beginning of the summer he really started to notice her and the woman she had become. Brooke had dark brown hair, with the most intense green eyes, she had the most exotic look, she stood 5’5 and had a wonderful body that Gabe could not take his mind off…
He started to think to of how her body would taste, and how she smelled…Gabe started to get turned on by this thought, but he soon broke out of that thought. I need to take a cold shower, he thought. He went into his bathroom and turned the shower on, he took off his shirt to expose his toned chest, just as he had been unbuttoning his jeans he heard a soft knock on the door…
Gabe looked at the clock, it was past 11, who could that be, he thought, he opened the door and saw Brooke standing there, her eyes were red from all the crying.
“What’s wrong?” he asked with an alarmingly look on his face
She came into his apartment and sat on his couch with her looking at the floor. She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out.
“hey, we’re best friends, come on you can tell me” he tried to make her smile but his efforts were worthless, “did that asshole Stephen do something, I’ll break his fucking neck,” Gabe growled.
“ No, no nothing like that, I just have to talk to someone” Brooke looked up into his concerned blue eyes, and she didn’t know how to tell him.
“Out with it, come on it cant be that bad” he said with a smile
Brooke told Gabe everything about her dads affair, and how he was just picking up and leaving. She spilled her heart out to him, she clung to him sobbing. Gabe was speechles, he felt if he said something he would make it worse, so he just held her
After what seemed liked hours, but in reality was only 10 minutes Brooke looked up at Gabe, they stared at eachother “Gabe” Brooke said softly, “I cant go home right now, I just cant face it right now.”
“Yeah, ofcourse, you can stay here tonight, we can rent some movies and order pizza” he said in a cheery voice”
Brooke knew it wasn’t a good idea staying with Gabe, but she was just so torn up inside she just needed to be with him….
