THE ANGEL\'S CAGE

I was having the best sleep when my alarm clock woke me up. It\'s the kind that get\'s louder if you dont press the little black button on the top. The bright red number\'s read \'6:20\'. I moaned, reaching for the button. It just got louder and louder until I balled my fist and hit the button. For some odd reason it wouldnt shut off. That was just my luck. I was already sore from working late and had even worm my clothe\'s to bed. I could feel my blonde hair stuck to the side of my pale face. The alarm was the least of my worrie\'s; I just didn\'t see it that way.I finally jumped from my bed and grabbed the clock, ripping the cord from the wall and smashing it into the corner of my wall. I sighed and took a deep breath then stood in horror as I realized that, that was my ONLY alarm clock.
The good thing is, I was half-out of it from my sleep deprivation and shock. The bad part was that when I went to open the door, it sprang to life and I saw star\'s.
\"What are you doing Dhalia?..\" It was too early for that. My best friend josephine had managed to get into the front door and now I was going to get chewed out. She flipped the light switch on. \"Ahh!\" I screamed, half joking half serious \"t he light! It burns! It burn\'s!..\" She countered however and yelled back \" Dhalia! It\'s 6:30 and your sleeping on the floor?..Where\'s your alarm clock?..\" I pointed to it\'s direction and groaned, in a childish voice. \"It broke...\"
To my suprise she just sighed and sat on the bed. \"Dhalia your such a slacker...I dont know what the hell you would do without me.\" For some strange reason, that comment didn\'t sit too well and I lost it. I got up from the floor and glared at her \"I work every night for 8 hours and I manage to go to school. Im trying to save money to pay for the bill\'s but they keep piling up. You have no right to call me \'a slacker\'!..Im going to school, you can go to hell.\" She sat there with her mouth open and brown eye\'s wide. I felt a little bad but it wasnt enough to cover up the anger and pure rage. Since I was already dressed, I left the room and stepped to teh front door, grabbing a shoe and trying to slip it on. Thing\'s only got worse because my Brother ran from his room and stood close to me all worried \"What\'s wrong?..Are you alright?.\" He asked, getting all frantic. For some ungodly reason, I just glared at him and propped my foot up on the wall to pull the lace\'s tight. He took a deep breath and his eye\'s went tot he floor. \"I..I\'ll see you later..\" He whispered, leaving the room quickly.

I live alone with my twin brother Dominic. We ran away from home a while back to get away from our mother. She was an awful person that slept around and did every drug known to man. She used to hurt my brother and even let her boyfriend\'s push him around. I couldnt stand that, so one day We packed our thing\'s and left. I havent seen my mother since. i wasn\'t exactly sure why I had yelled at him but I was positive that I was only making his condition worse. He had been depressed since our father was killed in and accident. He was on the shooting range and someone accidently shot him. I dont know why but the story was believed and we put him in the ground right after our 16th birthday. We were now 19 and things were getting harder. He was getting worse and I wasnt helping in the least bit.
It was cold outside and the sky was a dark shade of blue. the sun hadn\'t amde it up yet and no one was walking to school. I sat on a bench in the park and managed to calm down. I couldnt believe that I was so mean. well, I would wait for lunch and sneak into his class and say my apology.
It was about 7:00 when I decided to head to school. I knew that I was going to be as it was so I walked as slowly as I could.
