Her silver-blue eyes glittered with sadness in the rising suns light. Long black hair cascaded down her back, reaching her waist, and rippling slightly in the morning breeze. Sapphire was no ordinary girl. She was a protector, one with spiritual powers. Emerald, her sister, and her watched over the land and its people. To the villagers, Sapphire and Emerald were their saviors, thier shield from the real world. This is where their story begins, and where their final moments will take place.
Sapphire carefully traced the outline of her neclace with her slender, pale fingers. The smooth gold chain was cool to the touch, while the clear glass curved petals of the lily glinted in the early rays of sun. Emerald silently watched her sister from the giant willow tree nearby. Her piercing silver-green eyes and black hair complimented her pale skin. A blank expression played across her face, but a silent tear trickled down her cheek.Sapphire had a similar look to her sister, sad yet strong. She peered over the cliffs edge, down the wall of crumbling jagged rocks, to the stirring village below. They all remembered that day, it was something no one could forget.

Crimson spattered the white ocean of icy snow. The ground supported the corpses of hundreds of brave warriors, and only a handful were still alive, but none would make the journey back to their village. All would soon perish.
One deathly pale soilder refused to let his spirit be taken to the underworld without watching the blood-red sun disappear from view. As the dimond-like stars appeared, his eyes slowly closed, never to open again.
