Sweet World
PROLOGUE
Miles’ brown eyes became fixated in the city lights of New York as he sipped his martini while viewing the world through his tinted shades. It was New Years’ Eve, and a part was being held at his best friend Sean’s new apartment. The kid was doing well for himself, considering that he was suppose to be a “broke ass college student” like the rest of them. He got this Internet web design job a few months back, which was paying a pretty good salary. In a short time, the young Irishman was making just as much as this black man was making which took him quite awhile. Well Sean was his friend for god knows how long so he deserved it. And if he was going to pop the question to that girlfriend of his anytime soon, then he was definitely going to need the money. As for Miles, his job as a field supervisor at a new security company he joined was going pretty well. He would drive around to the work sites, checking on the security guards to see if everything was okay. He got along well with his co-workers, most of them proud to see a young black male move up in the world.
As much as he was happy for Sean, Miles mind was on something else this night, something just as important. Seeing his friend stand by the window, Sean knew what was on Miles Fox’s mind. Walking over to him, Sean placed a hand on his shoulder as he stared out the window.
“So, you’re gonna do it huh?” he asked.
Miles nodded, and took another sip. “I thought about this for a long time. Everything seems to be in place. Sean, if I skip an opportunity like this, then I will be beating myself up about it for the rest of my life.” Miles’ eyes turned sideways. “Maria is moving up here to live in New York. All she has been talking about lately is how she wants to see me. It’s been five years since we been around each other…God she was so fucking hot then…” Miles blushed slightly at his sudden burst and adjusted his glasses.
“She was man, even though I only saw her a few times” agreed Sean. “You think you can get her this time?”
“Yeah…” Miles paused for a moment. “I know that for a fact. She saw my recent photos and wants me with a passion…hell, she admitted it right on the spot. We always had that sexual tension going.”
“Don’t I know it” laughed Sean, his blue eyes lighting up a bit. “Sometimes I just wanted to scream ‘Just fuck her already’! Now, about the rest… ”
“Yes…” Miles scanned the room to see if anyone was near them. There was nobody. “Most likely, we’ll have a fuck buddy kind of thing. I can learn what need to from her while I handle my business with the others…especially the last two…”
“Good thinking my friend.” Sean put one hand on the window, and sipped his drink. “Who is suppose to be next? Kelly?”
“Yeah. It’ll take a few weeks, but I think I can get her without too much trouble…”
“Then after her comes the hard part…Reiko. You two has been best friends for the longest.”
“I know, but I can feel something growing between us. She has been slowly become more open around me, another reason why the next year will be so perfect. While I’m learning from Maria and after I bang Kelly a few times, I’ll be prepping myself for Reiko.” Miles downed the last of his drink. “Tara.”
“Tara…” Sean’s eyes took into the lights of the city. “Man, you wanted her like forever. Are you sure you can toss your feelings aside for her? You know you’re gonna have to for the final phase…”
“Yes…ending up with Anna. I sill love her man, but right now she’s getting her life together. That’s why this is perfect. Reiko and I will agree to not date for it’ll ruin our friendship. Around that time, Tara will be down here when school ends so I get to finish what I started…and after that, I’ll put my focus on Anna, who should have everything worked out by then. I get to have five women that I always wanted…within a year. I studied their psyche closely Sean…I can make this happen. Nobody will get hurt…no feelings will be torn. The last thing I want is either one of them besides Anna falling in love with me. And my sessions with Maria will make me a better lover so that they will never forget the night they have with me…” Miles laughed. “Can’t believe I’m doing this, but this is a once in a lifetime chance after all.”
“It sure is my brotha” said Sean as he poured miles another drink as well as one for himself. The two toasted as the countdown to ’05 began.
“10!”
Maria…my sweet little Maria…
“9…8!”
Kelly, your time has come as well…
“7…6!”
Reiko, my Japanese flower…I have yet to taste you…
“5…4!”
Tara…I always wanted you…and now I shall have you…
“3...2!”
Anna my love…you shall be my last for the rest of my life…
