Kael's Life Just Got Worse
The figure smiled atop the hill. The large crystal orb in his hand glowed softly.
\"Show me...Naosu,” he whispered to the orb. The scrying crystal glowed softly and then began to whirl with many dark colors. The figure watched it intently. It\'s crystal depths displayed anything he wanted to see. Anything... except.... his fist clenched. Anything except the one thing he really wanted. Well, no time for that now. He watched as it stopped it\'s whirling, zooming in on a small boring town. He smiled, fangs gleaming, when he saw the sign over the main building. The sign read \'Naosu Town Hall-all welcome.\' All welcome, hmm? Well...I\'ll just pay a small visit to Naosu. It\'s not even that far from here, he thought smugly, a couple days walk away. Still smiling, he put the crystal orb back in the leather pouch around his belt. The wind stirred his midnight blue hair that blew softly in his red eyes. It was such a nice town, he thought. Perfect to wreak havoc in. And there was also a plus. His love and life had gone to live in that small boring town. The vampire frowned gently. His love had thought he could get away. Well, HE would prove that Michael couldn’t get away. They belonged together forever. Besides, the figure still wanted him, and he always got what he wanted. “I’m coming for you Michael. You’d better not have made any attachments here. You’ll pay for them.” He smiled softly then started down the hill.
Michael walked down the path to his house, admiring the peace and quiet that he was so rarely allowed. In Naosu, his new home, he was rarely left alone. Dammit. He twitched. But he kind of liked it here anyway...it felt safer, although he never admit that to anyone here. Naosu was a beautiful small town, away from the larger cities Michael had been too. He had been visiting the neighboring town, Rye, for new books and he\'d missed it a little while he was away. Although Naosu had a bookstore, it was small, and it has soon run out of books for him to read. And the weeklong journey was welcome, too. He disliked living in the actual town, but lived on the outskirts, in a nearby forest. It was beautiful, with the sun shining through the leaves. Michael breathed deeply as he looked around with his cat green eyes. Staying very much alert, however, because he was currently in his more human form, with only panther ears, tail, and cat eyes. In this form he was more vulnerable than in hybrid panther form. And even in Naosu, there were a few wandering monsters in the woods that the folk in town considered \'magical\' or \'haunted\'. Michael snorted. He\'d never seen any really bad creatures, a couple mischievous wood trolls, but that was about it. The superstitions were supposed to keep people away didn\'t work though.
Michael was a sarcastic, wise talking half panther hybrid who didn’t like anyone all that much, and hated any kind of physical contact.
Despite this, almost all the time he had somebody chattering in his ear. For reasons that were unknown to him, Michael was popular with everyone. He did everything to discourage this. So being popular was a nuisance. The popularity puzzled him. It wasn\'t because he was part panther. Many people on Tala were either half or whole of something, like cheetah or vampire, witch or werewolf. There were very few people on Tala who were actually pure human. In fact, in Naosu no one was human at all.
He had stopped to ponder this when his ears pricked. A twig had snapped. Senses alert, he scanned everything. It can\'t be...his eyes widened. He couldn\'t have followed me here, Michael thought frantically. I made sure...the thought was abruptly cut off when he was tackled. With oomph, Michael tumbled to the ground along with the person who\'d jumped him. Rolling away in the grass with a growl he ended up on all fours. Tail swinging he glared at his attacker, Koki. Koki smiled innocently at him, teeth bared in a leopard laugh. Koki was a hybrid half white leopard that lived in the village. Since the day Michael had come to town, Koki had a crush on the poor panther. Not only did he flirt shamelessly with Michael, but he sexually assaulted him as well.
\"Kael.\" He cooed softly at Michael. He’d nicknamed Michael \'Kael\' since about a week after the panther had been in Naosu. (A/N Damn those nicknames...>:)) Koki hadn\'t left \'Kael\' alone since. The leopard had an energetic and flirtatious personality. Always optimistic, he was nice to everyone in town. Not nice enough to leave me the hell alone, Michael thought angrily. Of all the people who seemed to have a crush on Michael, Koki was his number one pursuer and nuisance. Now Koki was Michael\'s current problem.
Koki\'s sky blue eyes danced as he laughed, wrapping his arms around the poor were-panther.
“Kael!! I missed you!” Koki cried, nuzzling Michael.
“I was only gone for a week!” Michael told him, blushing and trying to unwrap Koki’s arms from his body.
“But…” Koki sniffled. “I don’t like it when you go away. Whom else can I play with?”
“I don’t know! Kijo!” He suggested, squirming as Koki pinned him to the ground.
Kijo was a cheetah and was constantly trying to do bad things people. Almost everyone tried to do bad things to Michael though, except Kijo. Kijo didn\'t seem to like him at all. She thought he was beneath her because she was the mayors’ daughter, which was fine with him. R He could use less people after him. Kijo, though, was really in love with Koki. So naturally she hated Michael. Koki, unfortunately for both Michael and Kijo, had his heart set on ‘Kael’.
“Waah!! She’s scary. Besides, I only like you.” Koki pouted, licking Michael\'s ear.
“Wow, that’s comforting, but I don’t care!” Michael cried moving his head to keep Koki’s tongue away from him.
Koki pouted and began running his hands all over Michael’s body.
Michael gasped. “Get off me!!” Michael cried, shoving Koki off him.
Koki gave Michael his best offended looked, and his tail drooped as he sat down. He sniffed softly. “I really did miss you.”
Michael glowered at him. “I didn’t miss you. In fact, I might go away more often. Just to get away from you.” He stated.
Koki laughed, used to Kael’s smart mouth. He leaned forward and kissed Michael hard. Michael stared at him in silence for a few seconds and then slapped him. Koki didn’t see to really care because he jumped up and dragged Michael with him. “Come on! We’ve got to go tell everyone your back.”
“No.” Michael tried to pull away frantically, but Koki held him too tightly. He dragged the panther boy to him and hugged him.
Michael swore in every language he knew as he tried to get out of Koki’s hold.
Koki wouldn\'t let go and continued babbling.
\"Wait till everyone here\'s your back.... I bet they\'ll all be really happy...except Ricca...but she really isn\'t a very nice person.... not that I\'m being mean to her.... but really.... I can\'t believe your back...I bet everyone will want to throw a surprise party...and...\"
Michael\'s eyes widened. Surprise party??? Gods no!! His struggles increased.
\"Koki.... let me go you idiot!!! I mean it Koki!! I\'ll kill you when we get back to town!! I mean it!!\"
Koki merely laughed as they entered the town.
