Chapter 1
--------------------------------
The sound of rain echoed in the car, as rain drops hurtled towards the BMW pulled over on the side of the road. The driver of the car sat motionless in the front seat; head resting on the steering wheel. He wore a faceless expression as he starred blankly at the dashboard. He slowly lifted his head and gently rested it on the headrest of his seat. A thick fog had appeared around him and seemed to absorb all live color from the area. All that remain was the heavy rain drops, the thick fog, and an eerie yellow haze that covered the area. He slowly reached for the handle of the door and paused. He had no reason to open it nor did he have a reason to stay where he was. His hand seem to decide on it’s own as the sound of rain drops grew louder as the door was opened. He closed the door and looked at the road in front of him. He could only see a few feet for the fog had created a thick wall there after; blocking anything else from sight. He did not look behind him. As the rain soaked his baggy jeans, and dark blue shirt, the driver walked forward. Like a lost soul he floated through the fog, not knowing what he would find, but after all he wasn’t looking for anything in particular. The yellow hue of the fog had seemed to turn him slightly yellow. His eyes now seem to see a slight shade of yellow on everything he saw. The ground, visible at his feet, the vague outline of trees in the distance on either side of him and the dark yellow sky above.
After twenty minutes or so, as he read from the Rolex on his wrist, the fog seemed to part. He looked around him, but the fog was still apparent on either side. He slowly turned his head around slightly, and noticed the thick fog behind him. The fog had not disappeared, but had stopped directly behind where he was standing. He calmly looked forward again and continued walking. The tar covered road he walked on carried the same yellow hue as everything else. On either side of him was more gravel with a few dead trees. In front it seemed like endless road. He kept on walking. As he walked he took of his sunglasses to wipe the rain drops away. He than stopped. He had just realized, not only was the fog gone from this area, but so had the rain stopped. He looked at the sky, a puzzled look on his face. He brought the glasses back to his face and shook his head and removed the scrunched expression. Steadying himself ounce more he continued on. He walked for another fifteen minutes and he saw it. In the distance it seemed like a large mall. As he got closer he saw more of the building. It was massive. There seemed to be about seven floors to it counting from the windows which were visible from where he was standing. As he walked closer he stopped to take in the size of the building. He now realized it was much bigger than he thought. It seemed to span the size of two football fields. With the thought of fields in his mind he now took in the fact that there was a field besides the building. This field was in fact an actual football field. He walked onwards till he neared the field. The building towered over him, casting a dark yellowish shadow. He walked towards the chain linked fence surround the field and rested up against it. His clothes were still damp, but dryer than they ounce were. From where he rested against the fence, he could see the front of the building. The building looked rather new. It looked brand new in fact. The eggshell like color paint spanned the entire building, as well as the yellowish hue. Leading towards the building stair case was the yellow colored gravel which turned to more yellow tar. He walked slowly onto the middle of the road. He proceeded to position himself right in front of the building. The yellow sky shone slightly brighter now as it gazed down on the structure. As though knowingly the light shone slowly onto the structure as if revealing itself for him. Two giant bold words shone brightly.
“All Saints”.
He stood in the middle of the road for sometime staring at those words. He than turned to his left and paused. Like before there was nothing, but more endless road. He did not bother turning to his right for he knew what lay back there. Nothing. He turned to look forward again and started at the building as a slight wind started blowing.
“Are you going inside?”
He casually turned around and saw a girl staring at him. Like everything else around him she to had a yellow hue about her which reflected gently of her soft white skin. Her blonde hair seemed to float down to her shoulders as she stared at him, hands in her pockets. She had blue eyes which pierced him. They were sharper then most blue eyes he had seen, especially against the yellow glow of everything else around them. Like him she wore jeans and a t shirt, but unlike him hers were tight, both below and above. From the size of her chest and from the look of her she seemed to be about eighteen, a year younger than he was.
“I haven’t decided yet”.
His response was smooth and steady. She smiled at him and shifted her weight to rest on her right side, hands still in her pockets.
“You got a name?”
“Anthony…You?”
Her smile turned to a slight grin and back into a smile. She rolled her eyes and gave a slight hmm, teasingly to show she was deciding weather she should tell him, even though they both knew she was going to.
“Michelle”
With her hands in her pockets she half seductively, half casually walked towards him till she was standing by his side. Ounce standing beside him she shifted her weight to her left side, so her head was closer to his and stared at him.
“So are you going inside?”
Anthony stared right back at her. Michelle smiled at him ounce more and ran her tongue slightly across her bottom lip.
“Maybe”
She laughed girlishly at his remark before taking both hands out of her pocket. She brought them to his face and stepped in and kissed him gently on the lips. She then ste bac back to look at him. He like before still had the calm expression on his face, unaffected by her, as most guys would have been. She brought her hands to cover her mouth as she laughed loudly now. Ounce the laughter had subsided she started walking towards the building. As she walked she turned around and called to him.
“So...are you coming then?”
As she looked back to wards the building she half walked half skipped. Anthony ounce again looked to his left, and then looked to his right. Endless road to either side of him. He looked up towards the yellow sky ounce more and then at the girls rear as she neared the stairs to the building. He took of his sunglasses to clean them one more time and began his walk towards the building as the yellow light shone on him.
