ON:
The wind blew at her hair and she smiled. A new beginning. Who could ask for more. Her life had been nothing but pain and suffering since her mother had passed away a year prior. Her life had came to a complete stop. Her career was gone and she didnt even know what hit her. She still doesnt know. But this time I would be different. She had moved to Amourux Bay to re-open her business. Hopefully it would bloom now.
The tall, dark haired man walked into her store. He was looking for something, but not quite sure what it should be. His brown eyes scanned the merchansise. Stephanie had liked books, so he went to a book store. It was stupid, it really was. He had no idea why he was buying a \'make-up\' gift for his girlfriend. Their last argument should have been \'it\'. By all rights they should have broken up weeks ago. The familiarity kept them together and there was some fear in being alone again. On the other hand, if the right woman came by, that would make leaving Stephanie all the easier. He sighed as his finger traced the edge of a book shelf he was browsing.
\"You know,\" Meiling said as she walked up behind her second customer, \"Flowers would say it equally well.\" She gave him a smile, \"I am Meiling Chun, is there anything I can help you with today?\"
She\'d caught Timon by surprise. He turned around quickly. \"Oh? Thank you for the advice.\" His eyes went to hers as he tilted his head curiously. \"How did you know I was looking for a gift?\" he asked.
\"Do you go around reading romance novels?\" she asked him with a grin on her face, \"The only tim eI see a man touch one of those is when he has done something and he wants to make up or he forgot a birthday or anniversary ..Which is it?\"
Timon chucked lightly as his face flushed a bit. \"Well .. actually ..\" he paused looking away from the shopkeeper while wetting his lips, \"We had a fight. I really shouldn\'t even be trying to make up.\" He looked at her again waving his hand, \"I\'m sure you don\'t want to hear the gory details.\"
She smiled again, “I wont pretend to be a marriage counsellor sir,” she told him, “But guys always think they are right.” She took the book from his hand and placed it back on the counter. She then took his hand and led him to another section of the store, “Trust me,” she said grinning, “A woman would rather have a quiet night at home with the man she loves.” She pointed to a sensual massage book, “A massage, dinner, candle light and a little something else,” she winked at him.” She then let go of his hand and turned to walk away.
Timon watched her go with a slightly raised eyebrow. Next he looked at his hand where they\'d made contact. \'Wow,\' he thought. He wanted to explain the fact that he and Stephanie weren\'t married but she\'d already walked away. He looked at the book she\'d pointed out and picked it off the shelf. \'It might work,\' he thought. A mischievous grin crossed his face, \'if it doesn\'t work on Steph ... maybe it\'ll work on someone else.\' Timon headed for the checkout counter.
Meiling stopped with a few other customers before her only employee walked over to her, “Aint he a hottie?” asked Debra.
“Ah hottie?” Meiling asked, “Who are we talking about?”
Debra cast a look in the direction of the man with the female problems, “Oh no,” Meiling started, “I mean he’s fairly handsome but he is involved with someone.”
Debra chuckled, “Yah right boss lady,” she said and walked away. Meiling began thinking but someone called for her.
Timon gave a light wave as he waited at the counter.
“I see you’ve taken my advice,” Meiling smiled as she rang in his book.
\"If it doesn\'t work, I\'ll be back to try something else,\" he said with a wink.
She laughed and gave him his total. She then handed him his changed and dropped her card into his back, “Thanks and come again,” she giggled.
\"Oh, I will,\" Timon winked again and left.
