Chapter One – Lilith
He sighed, smiling up at the stars. It had been so long since he could just relax and enjoy the night sky. The Vampire Hunters have been especially heavy on their weapons and such. He hadn’t had the time to enjoy the joys of life. Like staring at the stars, or savoring the sweetness warm blood gives him. He had to stand back and watch as those hunters killed off his kind, his kin, the ones he made.
Making more vampires was a hard thing to do. Well, it wasn’t too hard, but he had to do it a lot for the sake of his people. He was the king, and they counted on him to save them and make more of them. He loved having more power over all, but being relied on too much made his job hell.
He sighed, and continued on his walk. He shouldn’t have stopped in the first place. They were hot on his trail; they had been for a while now. He was their prime target. It was relevant for them, really. Kill the leader, kill them all. Simple, right? Well, not if they can’t catch him first.
Sadly, his journey led him to the one place he dreaded to be back at; London. London had the largest population of vampires and hunters alike. Everyone knew him there, for it was where he was born. It seemed like ages ago since he had last been there. One hundred, two hundred years maybe? Well, it didn’t matter to him. He would simply take a detour around London, and continue onto France, or Spain.
“Don’t take one more step,” someone behiim him hissed.
Rene growled, but halted nonetheless. If this person wanted a fight, he was willing to give a fight. He whipped around, but was surprised to see the hunter had nothing on her. No weapons, no crosses, no silver bullets…what kind of hunter was she to have no weapons? A very brave one, he gave her that much credit.
“Well,” he said, smirking, “what are you going to do? Smile at me?”
And, to his amazement, she smiled, and showed her teeth. Rene flinched backwards. There was a vampire after him, too? Could this world get any more annoying?
“Actually,” she hissed, “I just wanted to meet the famous Rene.”
She was British, he could tell.
“What do you know of me, already?” he asked.
“That he is immortal and the most powerful above all.”
“Then, why seek me out?”
“I wanted to see if you were real, and,” she moved her left foot back so she was in attacking position, “how good you are at fighting.”
It was tempting, so very tempting! He hadn’t fought and killed a vampire in so long it was killing him. He always knew rejection would one day kill him. But, he couldn’t stay and chat…or fight.
“I cannot, I am sorry.”
“Afraid?”
“Not at the least. But, as you may have also heard of me, I am trying to get away from hunters that are hot on my trail.”
“I kill hunters for game.” She relaxed her fighting stance, and stood on one leg, with her hands on her hips. “We British vamps have made a contest on it. It’s great fun you should enter. You are, after all, the king of the dark ones.”
“And, as such, I cannot be standing here, listening to a ‘rookie’ vampire tell me how to live my life. If you are trying to provoke me for a fight, it is working immensely.”
She smirked. “Really?”
Rene looked around slowly. Apparently, this vampire was a rookie. She didn’t seem to notice there was a hunter somewhere near that seemed to be looking for her.
She did know, however. She whipped around and came face to face with a hunter. This hunter was just about to pounce on her when she noticed him. Rene heard the vampire laugh amusedly. He wanted to take this time to escape, but he also wanted to see how she handled things like this.
Looking around, he decided to take refuge on a nearby, almost bare, tree. From there, he watched as the two prepared for battle.
The hunter smirked. “Well, well,” he said. “I feel honored, Lilith. I’ll be the one finally take you down.”
The vampire, Lilith, laughed heartily. “Oh, you crack me up, Tony. Everyone knows it’s only an honor to be throttled by me. You should feel honored.”
Rene sighed. No way will this vampire, Lilith, get anywhere with the other vampires being that aggressive. If she was to get anywhere, or at least live to be at least one hundred, she needed to know how to reto oto others. Her way was violent and not the way a vampire would like to see another vampire throw them self at a hunter like she did.
The hunter, Tony, reached behind his back, and grabbed his cross and silver sword. Lilith smirked.
“Want to fight old fashioned, do we?” she asked. She walked up to him, swinging her hips. Tony was visibly losing it. He was shaking as she approached him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pushed her hips on his. “Then old fashioned, we’ll fight,” she whispered.
Tony tried to move his arms to he could touch the silver to her skin, or put the cross in between them, but he couldn’t move his arms. Lilith had a hold of them, and was smirking at him.
“You bitch,” he growled.
Lilith shrugged. “Well, if you didn’t want to fight old fashioned, you would’ve been dead by now. But, you chose the longer death. I left it all to you.” She moved her head down, licking a spot on his neck. “Too bad. I really wanted to throttle you, too.” She sunk her teeth into his neck.
Rene raised an eyebrow at her performance. He was surprised she took total control over the situation like any ‘responsible’ vampire would. However, her victory would not be lived for long.
As Lilith stood there, drinking Tony’s blood until he was dry, more hunters were coming. She obviously had no idea about them. Rene jumped down out of the tree, preparing to make a run for it. But, what would happen to this one? This rookie?
There was a loud “thud” and Rene knew that Tony had fallen. He turned around to see Lilith smirking at him, but she wasn’t alone. She moved her eyes from side to side, her head frozen in place. He watched her as she waited until the two hunters were approaching her quietly, and on opposite sides.
She tilted her head to one side, and smiled. She winked at Rene and…disappeared! Rene blinked. Where’d she go? The hunters seemed to be thinking the same, but the caught sight of Rene, and ran towards him, shouting. He could hear at least twenty more behind them, and they were coming up fast.
He was preparing to fight when he felt hands on his shoulders. He turned around and saw Lilith staring at the hunters, who were advancing tremendously.
“I think we had enough for one night,” she said. She raised her eyebrows at Rene, and, without another word, she clasped her arms around him, tight, and they were gone from the field.
...
AN: So? How\'d you like the first chappie? More violence and things coming up. All you have to do is review! Yeah, I won\'t continue without any reviews. So, if you liked this story, then you know what to do! If you want to flame me, go ahead! You can cook better with flames, and I love the hatred.
