Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there was a small village in the rolling hills of Europe. In this village, there was a man and a woman who loved each other very much and were blessed with two children. A brown hair brown eye girl named Violet who was very good at cooking and weaving and a smart little bylonde hair blue eyed boy named Issac who was very good at crafting things with his hands.

They were a happy little family and the whole village loved them...but those days ended when the wife became pregnant with their third child. The pregnancy was a difficult one and everyone pitched in to help her. Then, the day came when she went into labor...at night.

The local midwife and several woman rushed to their home and banished all men from the bedroom. The delivery was just as difficult as the pregnancy for after the water broke, the birth canal was soaked with blood which stained the bedsheets and the woman\'s cloths. In the end, a little girl was born and the mother died in the birthing. The moment the child was born, the women in the room began to whisper things like that this was a cursed birth due to the fact that it occured at night and that the baby\'s hair was stained by the mother\'s blood. When the husband found out what had happened, he was devistated by the loss of his wife and absolutley refused to accept the child as his own.

Just as talks were turning to murder of the helpless child, a carrage drove up to the house and a old woman was helped out. Once she entered the man\'s home, she introduced herself as the dead woman\'s mother and the grandmother of the child. When the daughter left home for marrage, the mother made her agree that when she had a second daughter the child would come to live with her.

With this explained, the father was more than happy to hand the baby off to her. With the precious bundle in her possesion, the woman bade her goodbyes and took her leave of the household. Just as the carrage vanished into the darkness, a group of horses carrying a group of men and two women thundered up to the house. Three of the men stayed outside with the horses while the other two men and the two women stormed into the house demanding the see the man\'s wife and her child.

When he explained what had just occured, the group of foure people errupted in anger and insults were thrown all over the place. Once the smoke had cleared the situation became cleared. The four people was the dead woman\'s younger sister, younger brother, father AND mother. It turns out that old woman who just left wasn\'t the real mother. She was an witch from their village who made the eldest daughter agree to giving up her second daughter to avoid a curse being placed on the younger daughter.

The family had hoped to arrive at the house before the baby was born so as they could surprise the witch and kill her. But they were too late, the woman was not only gone from the father\'s village, but from the childhood village of the dead woman as well.

The witch had claimed the child and vanished into the night never to be seen again...or so they say.
