As It Seems
A cold wind blows
across me.
My hair slithers
across my vision,
obscuring it for
only a moment.
But that one moment
is all it takes.
In such a short time
my world has crumbled.
All I thought
I knew.
I realize with the
finality of death,
that jarring
sensation
that reality grants you,
that I was wrong.
All my truths
are truly lies.
Nothing is as it seems.
Nothing that was meant
to keep me safe
was ever safe at all.
My net was woven
full of holes.
My walls created
with stage-prop quality.
Nothing is as it seems.
Nothing is as it ought
to be...
