Help From An Angel
Warnings: Language, Violence,Romance, Angst, M/M, Supernatural, FantasyRating: RParings: Lex/BrendonPROLOGUE:“Doctor! How is he? Is he going
to be ok?” Doctor Gary barely got ten feet from the recovery
room before a man and woman came rushing down the hall towards him.The doctor sighed sadly, sometimes he
hated his job. “Mr. & Mrs. Young…your son needs a
blood transfusion—” he began, but Mrs. Young interrupted
him.“We know and we gave you the
blood. Why are you telling us this again?” Mrs. Young asked. The doctor rubbed his eyes and then
glanced around quickly, hoping to see one of the other doctors. Maybe
he could rope them into giving the bad news. How do you tell someone
that their son isn't their
son? “The blood doesn’t match…none
of it does. From any of your family.”“But that’s impossible.
I'm his mother. We have to have the same DNA.”
She paused, looking at the doctor’s expression. He couldn't be
saying what she thought he was. He just couldn't.
She would know if something like this were possible. Right? She
looked at her husband and then back at the doctor. He wasn't going to
be any help. He looked ready to pass out at any moment.
“Mrs. Young, Brendon—”“Don’t you say
it!! Don’t you dare
tell me that Brendon isn’t my baby!! I gave birth to him five
years ago!! He’s mine!
Mine!” She yelled hysterically.
Doctor Gary looked over Mrs. Young's
shoulder towards the waiting area. Brendon's room was at the far end
of the corridor, but Mrs. Young was being so loud people were
staring. “Perhaps, we should take this to my office?” He
tried. But Mrs. Young would even hear it.“No! You're going to explain
this right now!” Even though her face was red and wet with
tears she was no longer crying. She felt like she was completely out
of tears.“I’m sorry Mrs. Young,
but Brendon is not
your son. I have no further information in regards to that situation
and as soon as he's more stable, we will start looking into it, but
until then, keeping him alive is what's important.“Now, on to the medical. We’ve
already made some calls to the surrounding hospitals to see if anyone
has what we need, but this is a small town and the next closest
hospital is a good two hour drive from here. We've stopped the
bleeding and stitched him up, but he's going to need another
transfusion soon. We used up all we had on hand during the surgery
and it was just barely enough. His blood type is extremely rare and
we just didn't have enough of it.” He twisted his hands
together. “We've put him in a room to recover,” he said,
gesturing to the door he had just come from, “but we've done
all we can for your son at this time.” He paused. “I’m
sorry.”But Mrs. Young wasn’t
listening. She was staring behind the doctor at the man coming out of
the room next to her son's. He looked straight at her and smiled. She
felt a peace come over her like she had never felt before. The man
turned and walked into Brendon's room. He didn't look like any doctor
she had ever seen. He was tall, slender, had long white hair, pale
skin and the bluest eyes she had ever seen. His floor length robes
seemed to be glowing...he
seemed to be glowing.“Who is that man that just went
into Brendon’s room?” She looked at the doctor and then
pushed past him.Doctor Gary stumbled to the side and
then rushed after her. “Let’s go and check.” He
muttered to himself. When they got to the door, they heard
giggling and an older male voice. They couldn't make out what he was
saying though.Mrs. Young gasped and threw open the
door. “Brendon!” Out of the corner of her eye she saw
the glowing man, but when she looked fully in his direction, he was
gone.Brendon looked over at her and
smiled. “Mama! I saw an angel!”He giggled again and clapped. Mrs.
Young rushed to his bed, her husband and the doctor behind her, and
the man forgotten. “Oh my baby! You’re awake.” She
cried. Her hands fluttered around Brendon's body, but she didn't
touch him.
The doctor was standing at the end of
the bed, stunned. [This is completely impossible. He should be in a
coma still. Even if he did
wake up, he shouldn’t be able to move at all, let alone speak!
His whole body was just about broken from the crash, and he had
severe head and spine trauma.] He shook his head. [Or should I say
did?
What the fuck am I supposed to do with this?]
“Baby, what happened?”
Mrs. Young asked, her eyes watering. It seemed she wasn't out of
tears after all. She reached her arms out and wrapped them around
Brendon's tiny body.Brendon’s eyes lit up, “I
was in the park mama, and I seed uh Angel! He said he loved me a
whole lots and that I
had to grow big and strong and he would find me again one day when
I'm older. And he said that you and daddy would be sad if I didn't
come back from the park so I came back so you would be happy!”
He giggled again when his mama hugged him tighter. “Mama you
squeezin' me too tight!” Brendon huffed out.Mrs. Young laughed quietly and
sniffed, but she let go so her husband could hug their son. She
wiped away the tears that had fallen and looked over towards the
doctor, then back to her son. [This is going to be a problem.] Mrs.
Young pulled the unresisting doctor into the bathroom and shut the
door.
Doctor Gary seemed to come out of it
then and yanked his arm back. “What-?” He started.Mrs. Young held up a finger. “You
listen to me Doctor Gary,” she began, “I don't know
exactly what happened in that room, but if you tell a single
sole, you're going to find yourself locked up in a little white room
with padded walls.”His eyes widened and he backed up to
put some space between them. “Excuse me?” He asked
incredulously. “Just what do you expect me to do then? I wasn't
the only person in that E.R. room. There was a whole team of doctors
and nurses in there! This isn't something we can just hide!”Mrs. Young's eyes narrowed. “You
let me worry about covering this up. You keep everyone out of my
son's room and keep your mouth shut and we'll have no problems.”
She pulled out her phone and flipped it open. Scrolling through her
phone list selected a name and hit send.Doctor Gary's eyes widened and his
mouth fell open. [Cover it up? Is she serious? How the Hell
does she think we're going to keep people from finding out?]“Damon. There's a situation at
the hospital. No, my son is fine. I'll explain later. Right now I
need you and your team to get down here. We need to move Brendon to a
new location and I want it done quickly and quietly.” She
nodded her head as she listened to Damon's reply. “Good. Room
103. We'll work out the details when you get here.” She
snapped her phone shut and shifted her gaze back to the flabbergasted
doctor.“Remember what I said doctor.
Not one word to anyone. You know who I am and what I can do.
I will make your life Hell.”He nodded slowly and swallowed.
“I'll—I'll keep everyone out.”“Good. My people will be here
in ten minutes. We're going to say that I'm moving my son to a
private hospital where he can get the proper care he needs, since
this place is unable to give him what he needs. You'll need to make
it look like he's hooked back up to all those machines and clear some
sort of path to the helipad. My chopper will be on the roof as soon
as my head of security can get in touch with the pilot. Fill out the
necessary paperwork, I want to be out of here as soon as possible.”“Right...I...ok.” The
doctor looked pale. “As soon as possible. Got it.” He
rushed out of the bathroom and then out the door without even
glancing at the child sitting in the bed.
Mrs. Young took a deep breath and
smoothed down her shirt. She walked out of the bathroom and went
over to her family. She smiled and ruffled Brendon's hair. “Don't
worry, son. Mommy is going to take care of everything.”Brendon grinned at her and then went
back to talking with his dad.
END PROLOGUEOk, folks. What do you think? I
haven't edited this yet but I wanted to get some feedback. I guess
you can think of this as a rough draft. If anyone is interested in
being my beta let me know.
Also, I know nothing about the
workings of hospitals so if something medical from this chapter was
just completely impossible, let me know and I'll fix it.
