No More Cry

Dedicated to Alice for her birthday (snuggles her). This is also for everyone who has been waiting patiently for Sibley to get his chance in the spotlight. It’s not much but it’s a start!
The lyrics are from \"No More Cry\" by the Corrs. Don\'t own \'em . . . but I do own the little booklet I got them from!

These characters are from my fic \"For Lord and Land\", you need to read that fic before this one ^.^

No More Crying

I wanna feel just like before
Before the rain came in my door
Shook me up
Turned me round
Made me tilltill I would drown

Hands froze, making the quill dangle precariously over the carefully crafted document. A deep laugh ruffled the sensitive hairs at the back of his neck and Sibley shuddered. The quill was taken from him, the soft shaft sliding easily against his fingertips. There was the sound of it being dropped in its cleaning container and he smiled. Cocking his head curiously he was unprepared for the feeling of a strong arm wrapped about his waist and drawing him to his feet.

“What are you doing?” He demanded, trying to sound stern but suspecting that he couldn’t keep the tremor that his lover’s closeness inspired within him out of his voice.

Lips touched the back of his neck and he bit his lip at the sensations it caused. The soft tail of the scarf his lover had used to steal his sight caressed the side of his face as it slid forward. His hand was captured and he laughed softly as a calloused hand tickled the soft flesh of his palm. A kiss was pressed to his wrist and he turned his face, earning a second kiss, this time on the cheek.

“Would you like to guess?” His lover asked, crossing his hands around his waist and pulling him gently backwards.

Sibley laughed. “And what will you do when someone catches us, hmm?”

There was a snort from his right. “Be grateful for they will undoubtedly spread the word so that the entire household will know by the time I have you crying your pleasure out to the world and it will keep them from coming to find out what all the racket is.”

Sibley flushed in embarrassment. “Dante!” He hissed.

His lover laughed and nipped at his ear, earning another shudder. “So shy.” He whispered, blowing at the small hurt.

“Not shy,” Sibley protested, “decent.”

Dante shrugged. “What can I say? You inspire the barbarian in me.”

Stole the daylight
Brought the night
So much anger I would fight
Lost my youth amid the blue
Saw all the loneliness in you

A sudden breeze signaled the transition from house to beach and Sibley stumbled slightly on the mutable sand. His flush deepened as an arm caught him under the knees and he was swept up into Dante’s arms. With a soft cry he flailed until he managed to get his arms around his lover’s neck. It was an awkward position for he was taller than Dante by a few inches but he didn’t mind. He buried his face against his lover’s chest, breathing in the scents of a soldier in training.

The sound of the ocean was a comforting sound and he turned his face towards it as curiosity got the better of him. His feet touched the ground and he stood patiently as the scarf was untied and slid away. He smiled brightly and glanced back at his lover. Clasping his hands behind his back he circled the blanket and basket that sat upon it.

“For me?” He asked coyly.

Dante smiled and nodded.

Gatherins ths thin robe carefully about his knees and kicking off his shoes Sibley knelt on the blanket, turning to glance at the show nature was playing out before him. The sun glowed brightly as it made its closing decent into the ocean, painting the sky a myriad of warm colors. Just beyond the break he could make out the final dance of the dolphins.

Arms wrapped about him and he leaned back against his lover’s chest, closing his eyes. They sat in silence for a time, listening to the gentle beat of the waves on the shore and the night cries of the gulls as they came in from the ocean to find roosts for the night on shore. The breeze began to turn and Sibley tilted his head back, staring up at his lover.

Hands cupped his face and he reached up to twine his fingers in Dante’s thick mane of hair.

“It’s lovely.” He whispered.

Dante smiled and shook his head. “You are lovely.”

“And you are handsome.” Sibley replied.

Dante’s hands moved over his head and he sat still as they gently worked his hair from the knot and tail he had pinned it up in. He murmured in pleasure as his lover draped the heavy fall over his shoulder before carefully moving his hands over his scalp, massaging the tingling hairs. He shuddered as Dante brushed his fingers though his waist long hair.

He turned to face his lover and gasped in pleasure as his head was tilted to the side and lips teased his neck. Hands traveled over his chest and he allowed himself to be laid back across the blanket. He caught Dante’s face in his hands and arched up, sealing their lips together. A tongue touched his lips and he opened them with a groan.

**

Wanna help you
Give you love
Shine some light out from the mud
Fill the empty
Find a rhyme
A brighter day
A better time

**

An eternity of nights like this one flashed through his mind and he broke the kiss with a soft cry. Dante turned from him and he watched as the basket was drawn closer and opened. Wine and fruit was removed and he laughed softly, snatching the bottle from his lover\'s hands and pouring for them as Dante set about breaking into the fruit\'s hard shell. With a smile he leaned forward to accept a piece of white fruit from Dante\'s fingers. In exchange he offered a glass which was taken and nearly drained. With a laugh he refilled the glass and set the bottle aside, lying down across the blanket, his head cradled in his lover\'s lap. Fingers played with his hair and he turned his eyes to the setting sun, his fingers absently tearing a piece of fruit from the husk before him..

It seemed like an eternity since he had been brought from this very beach, half drowned and terrified to the house beyond. He\'d could still remember soft arms and gentle voices, telling him all would be well. He remembered his first visit to the garden and his first meeting with a dark haired child who had never teased him as those that shared the street he called home did. He rememd thd the first time he had returned to the beach, trailing behind Dante who had insisted that they should spend the day gathering shells for the new room being added onto the house. He had cried at the sound of the sea and the remembrance of it stealing his breath until Dante had forced to get over his fears and rediscover the joy of a child playing among the waves.

In those days he had cried for his fear of the ocean. He had cried for the loss of his family. He had cried for the pain in his weakened body.

He had cried for himself.

Sibley smiled and peered up at his closest friend. \"No more crying.\" He murmured.

Dante blinked down at him. \"What?\"

\"No more crying. Don\'t you remember? It was what you used to tell me when we were children.\"

A smiled of recognition crossed Dante\'s face. \"No more crying, the day is ended, tomorrow brings a new sun, and a new life to live.\" He murmured.

Sibley nodded.

Dante laughed. \"My mother used to say that to me whenever something made me cry.\"

\"I remember you used to say to me \'No more crying!\' and I would cry all the more harder until you would do something to take my mind off my fears and my past. Then you would smile and say \'see? I don\'t want you to cry anymore!\'\"

The smile fell from Dante\'s face and his fingers gently stroked the side of Sibley\'s face. \"It\'s still true. I don\'t want you to cry anymore. I want you to be happy. I want you to live in the new day with a new life, not chained to the past. I want to give you that new life.\"

Sibley sat up and kissed his lover. \"You do,\" he whispered, pulling back, \"you have given me a brilliant new life.\"

\"No more crying?\" Dante asked, a small smile playing about his lips.

Sibley laughed and nodded. \"No more crying.\"

The chain about his waist was loosened and Sibley licked lips gone suddenly dry as calloused hands ran over his bared stomach. He reached up and tugged at the tunic billowing from the tight leather pants.

“Open!” He demanded, pulling it free.

Dante laughed softly and undid the twisting leviathan pin at his shoulder that held the shirt closed. Setting the pin aside he resumed his former ministrations. Sibley smiled in satisfaction and let his fingers play over his lover’s muscles. Dante lowered himself onto his elbows and Sibley sighed in pleasure as his lover’s weight came to rest over him. It made him feel safe and protected.

Brushing the thick fall of black hair back he dipped his head to nip at the bared neck, earning a series of shuddering breaths. He slid his hands under the open shirt and clung to his lover’s broad back as sharp teeth nipped at his chest. A rough tongue lapped at his nipples and he flung his head back, keening in pleasure with each swipe.

He writhed as his lover’s hands ran down his sides, capturing his hips as Dante rose to his knees. Sibley peered up at him and parted his legs, reaching up to urge his lover back down. Dante captured his lips in a forceful kiss that he responded to eagerly.

“Demanding.” Dante chided.

Sibley smiled and captured his bottom lip between his teeth, tugging gently at the trapped flesh before releasing his lover. “Appease me.” He ordered, smiling smugly as his lover sighed and gave him an amused look.

“As you wish . . . spoiled little princeling.”

Sibley sniffed. “And don’t you forget . . . ah!” He flung his head back as Dante took him in his mouth, sending all thoughts from his mind.

He writhed under his lover’s ministrations, his hands fisting in the blanket as Dante sucked ruthlessly, driving him insane. He panted and keened as fingers touched him, playing him as only Dante could. Teeth nipped at him gently and he arched, his knees closing as his body tensed. Hands forced his legs apart and he watched helplessly as his lover returned to his task. Fingers entered him, working him mercilessly.

**

But I’m wondering where I’m gone
Can’t find the truth within my song
And all I have I’ll give to you
To let you know you’re not alone

**

Unable to wait any longer he sat up, earning a startled glance from his lover. With a growl he forced Dante onto his back and straddled his hips. He captured the pale lips with his own for a final deep kiss, establishing his own dominance over their dance before pulling back slightly.
“Enough play!” He hissed, reaching back with talented fingers and undoing the ties to his lover’s pants. With a feral grin he red red himself on his lover’s arousal. He watched through narrowed eyes as Dante flung back his head, strong hands capturing his waist as the larger man thrust up.

Sibley cried out as the member inside of him rubbed firmly against that spot within him that guaranteed unbearable pleasure. He felt Dante shift and he fell forward, catching himself a h a hand on either side of his lover’s head, moaning as his lover’s member slipped back. He met Dante’s eyes and licked his lips, nodding his consent. His lover’s eyes narrowed and he cried out fully as he was thrust into forcefully.

Unconsciously they matched the ocean’s rhythm, letting it drive them to completion. In the single moment Sibley forgot all the pains of his life for it was just he and the man he loved. His spirit soared and he cried out in ecstasy. Dante was there to catch him as he fell. He murmured happily and buried his face against his lover’s chest.

Lips touched his forehead and he sighed in contentment.

**

I wanna hear you laugh again
Without the ache to bring you down
No we’ll never be the same
If only I could take your pain

**

“I could stay like this forever.” Sibley murmured.
Dante caressed his face and he opened his eyes.

“Truly?” His lover asked, blue eyes filled with an unnatural seriousness.

Sibley nodded. “Truly.”

He frowned slightly as his lover stared out over the darkening ocean.

“Dante?” He asked, sitting up so that he could face his suddenly pensive lover. He reached out to trace the tightened line of the other man’s lips. “What are you thinking about?”

Blue eyes, darker than his own stared down at him for a long moment. With a heavy sigh his lover turned away and reached for the basket. Sibley sat back and watched silently as Dante removed a small bag. Clutching it tightly in his hand Dante slid out from underneath him and stood, straightening his clothes. He held out a hand and Sibley took it, allowing the stronger man to pull him to his feet. His lover reached out, pulling his robe closed and tightening the chain about his waist. When finished with this strange task Dante lead him to the realm between ocean and land. Sibley hissed slightly as cold water broke over his ankles.

“Dante . . .”

He was silenced by a finger over his lips. He smiled as Dante moved closer to him, moving as though to steal a kiss but he was left disappointed as his lover suddenly pulled back, though he remained so close their bodies were almost touching. Dipping his head Dante held up the bag, pulling it open carefully.

**

I’m tell you
I’m smiling for you only
I’m trying for you solely
I’m praying for you only
No more cry, no more cry

I’m singing for you only
I worry for you only
But it’s you saves me from lonely
No more cry, no more cry

**

Sibley reached out to touch his lover’s face, drawing it upwards so that they were eye to eye. He opened his mouth to say something but remembered the other man’s wish and let the words go with a sigh. Smiling softly he brushed the wind-tousled hair out of stormy eyes.

“I hope . . . you do not think badly of this.” Dante said, his voice thick with an emotion Sibley could not identify.

Before he could inquire about the strange comment Sibley found his hand taken in a firm grip and turned palm up. From the bag was drawn a silver ring that was placed lovingly on his hand and Sibley couldn’t stop the gasp that came as the fading sunlight caught the silver and reflected off familiar runes.

He looked up sharply and words failed him. Dipping his head he closed the distance between them. The desire to kiss away the fear and nervousness in his lover’s face overcame him and he gave into, pressing their lips together firmly. After a stunned moment he felt Dante respond. An arm wrapped about his waist and he relaxed, letting his lover lead the dance between them. For a brief moment the hands left his back but before he could wonder about it they had returned and he was lost in the kiss.

He wished that the kiss would go on forever but the need for air eventually won out and he pulled back to peer up at his lover through his lashes, shyness suddenly overcoming him. The ring was taken from his hand and, as he huddled against Dante’s warm body to keep from the cool twilight breeze, he watched in silence as the silver promise ring was slipped over his finger.

His hand was taken in Dante’s larger one and, as the fingers closed over his, he noticed a matching band about his lover’s own finger. He laughed softly and turned to meet Dante’s eyes.

“I love you.” Dante whispered.

Sibley suddenly felt the urge to weep. How long had he waited to hear those very words? He peered at his childhood friend and lover. “No more than I love you.” He whispered as tears left a hot trail down his face.

\"Hey,\" Dante whispered, reaching up to brush the tears away. \"ore ore crying.\" He admonished.

Sibley laughed. \"No more crying, the day is ended, tomorrow brings a new sun, and a new life to live.\" He repeated.

Dante nodded and brought their ringed hands together and pressed them between them, against their hearts.

“A new life to live. Forever.” Dante promised.

Sibley nodded, tears in his eyes and a smile playing on his lips.

“Forever.”

But if it’s true what people say
There still is beauty in each day
W fin find comfort in its strength
One day soon we’ll meet again
