To Black, Red, and Pink

To Black, Red, And Pink
(I no longer care what others think)

She said she was getting into modern art
As I whisled a Dylan tune
She told me Esher was a pretty good start
And asked me if I ever read Dune

I never told her about the day I cried
She said that I turned her on
And I never told her that I lied
When I said the walrus was John

She was looking for James Dean
When she saw me standing there
I was craving love and nicotine
As I combed my jet black hair

And where were you when I was confused and hurt
With all of my darkest feelings I began to flirt
I bought my wine with a fake ID
I thought I was your Bobby McGee
I poured a libation to my friend Kurt
Who sadly sleeps under the dirt
You know I didn\'t know where I was walking to that day
but I knew I couldn\'t stay.

Three names burned my soul
One Crying, One Floating and One losing control
You might think me wicked, but I don\'t care
You always tried to ignore my wicked stare
Black I wanted you back
To try to gain the things I thought I lacked
Red I wanted you dead
But perhaps I wanted you to see the real me instead
Pink ..what did you think
That you could trap in your poisonous kiss..
or your flirty, dirty, wink

Eyes are meant to cry, beautiful as they may be
Words are meant to hurt, just let me be
Tears are here briefly, fleeting into the past
Ive lost all three, not meant to be..nothing ever lasts
