Author's Notes

Update: 12/31/05 - After many months of trying to make edits, I have again begun writing this. Also, given early feedback from some friends, will be posting it.

However, with time constraints from work, writing my other stories, and beta reading, updates might be a bit slow in coming. But I believe that they will be worth it.

Should have the chapter re-posted within the next couple of days, and at least a couple ofther chapters shortly following.

General Info

The following is a work of fiction, with some elements of science fiction that I've tried to present in a plausible manner. While at this time, we do not have the capabilities as used in the story, technology is rapidly advancing, and at some time we might.

Rating

Rating is for graphic violence, strong language, and depictions of sexual situations. Each chapter will contain individual warnings as to content. Chapters with no warnings will be straight stuff, nothing to worry about.

Time

Time is listed as ship's time, which correlates with standard time at Alliance Headquarters. Thus, while it might seem to be the wrong time of day, all ships operations and activities generally correspond to this time.

Use of Italics and Marks

Italics. Generally used for thought. Should be easy to figure out. Thought, person thought. Nothing to complicated about that, is there? Dream sequences are also in italics, with thought being in regular type font, thus reversed. Sequence stuff. Thought, person thought. Again, pretty straight forward, nothing too complicated.

Spoken text in italics is anything communicated via computer and communications. Spoken over an intercom, in effect.

[Brakets]. Text within these marks is telepathic speech, and as direct thought, generally doesn't need to be translated, thus understood by those in telepathic contact. At times, other languages may be spoken via telepathy. (Of course, as I have no real experience with telepathic contact, I could be mistaken. Anyone who has experience, please contact me telepathically so that I may correct.)

. Text within angles is translated ancient Praxian, also known as the High Tongue on Sureen. While some Praxian is actually spoken, with a translation, didn't think that anyone would want to learn it all to try to read.

Also, some of the different marks will be combined, as at times it becomes necessary. <[Text]> is ancient Praxian telepathic speech. <[Text]> is the same, only in a dream sequence or flashback.

All in all prettsy tsy to figure out once you know the basics.

Edit: Removing what I have posted, as going through a bit of a re-write. Also, with work schedule, not certain as to availability to finish writting it. Eventually, I'll have it put back up.
