Darkness surround
Sense the danger
Approaching faster
There’s no escape
Closing in
Forcing through
Penetrating cold
Cannot escape
Suffocatingly close
Smothering light

A blanket of freezing black
Numbing all sense of life
Squeezing air from lungs
A single breath escapes
As the body succumbs
To lasting peace
