The Voices Inside Me

Author: Hiriyou

Description: This, of course, is the second in my \"Broken Children Arc.\" It\'s sort of an on-going series. I\'m not sure how long the series will go on... depends on if I need to vent some creative energy again. Already have some more stories to post.

The Voices Inside Me

Everyone has voices in their head. But the people not afraid to admit it are considered insane. Well I'm not afraid to admit it. So why aren't I in the hospital? Nobody's asked me. Th. That's why. If somebody asked, I'd tell them everything. All the strange little conversations we have when I'm stuck in class staring at simpering females and glowering boys. I've even given names to my voices. Okay, I didn't name them. They named themselves. They told me I couldn't name them because they didn't belong to me. But they live in my head don't they? One of them just yelled at me that they were borrowing my head and to shut up.

The one who yelled was Gavin. He's boisterous and obnoxious but he switches moods in a second. When he gets mad, he gets silent. So even though all of us get annoyed by his behavior, we'd rather have him yelling then quiet. Then there's Felice, almost as loud as Gavin. She likes to be pushy and sometimes she'll give me headaches just because I don't want to do what she says. Felice is like one of those girls that you see who have three layers of makeup, popping bubble gum, and you know that she goes home to different men each night.

They're almost like a couple, Gavin and Felice. They sure argue enough like a married couple. The teachers in my classes have been getting suspicious about all the headaches that those two have caused me. But by that time is usually when Delani speaks up. Delani almost never speaks, so I don't know if they're male or female. Despite being on the borderline of autistic, Delani can get me out of a jam in no time. They just whisper and all the voices clamp down so I can hear. Nobody speaks up while Delani is going.

Unfortunately, Delani also likes to sleep for long bouts at a time. So whenever they're asleep, it's chaos in my head over who's right and who's idiots. Rosaline can make peace and I'm glad she's there because of it. Whenever the imagined bloodshed breaks out, Rosaline walks in and talks in her running-brook voice and soon enough everyone's calmed down and I can get back to my life.

Gavin, Felice, Delani, and Rosaline are just the independent voices. They speak for themselves only. But then there are others in my head that collected in groups and so now they're called; the Sirens and Jury.

Out of all of the voices, I hate the Sirens the most. Whenever they talk-which is more or less whenever they can-they sing. It just grates on my nerves all the time. Luckily, thanks to Gavin and Felice, nobody besides them really talks that much. The Jury are called that because they always make the right decision.

Don't be fooled though. I told you what my voices are like. I didn't tell you anything about what we talk about. Because for all their differences they always talk about one thing. Who I should kill and how. We figured it out today. They've decided that no one really deserves to live anymore. Everyone takes their life for granted. And the only way for them to truly realize how special it is, is for it to be taken away.
