Engulf

Engulf

Luminous night…
I stare upon your face wearily.
Wondering if there are any stars for me?
A tiny piece of flashing sky… I could call my own.
How I wish you could send little emerald men on soft moonbeams,
And take me.
Just rob me from the world,
And take me into you,
Make me piece of what shines.
The day will come fast and I must ready myself, so not to greet it.
But I know…I will not leave…
I will have to wait for you once more, and the hours are so lonely.
But I will not come.
I will no longer lay wet, on damp blades of grass,
Gazing at your many colorful eyes and stardust hair.
I will not count your thousands of freckles, that light up smoothly with your darkplexplexion.
I can not break my heart any further,
I am not complete,
But by the coming of dawn I will be.
I can not lay cold as the day passes.
I can not lay wondering if I can join you.
We can fill the world with endless shade together.
Although my soul is barren I yearn to be a piece of you.
My heart tells me not to ready my foot,
But stand steadfast at the edge of this mountain,
And call unto you…
“Take me! Take me into you!”
How long have I waited for that to leave my grey lips?
To many moons have passed without me speaking my bloodless heart.
Speechless night…I love you.
I am part of you.
So take me…shimmering light…a tiny piece of sky that could hold me alone.
The dark fights, as the light slowly consumes it.
Parts of the sky become watery light blue.
A yellow creature peeks it’s head from around puffs of white…
And just as that I was gone as,
Ashless dust…
