Calming the Storm
Calming the Storm
Memories of the past crowd my mind
The voices are screaming
Demanding to be noticed
How can I calm the storm?
To open a door and let them out
Which doorway?
My image fading and all that is left is
Jaded pain
I cannot be this
To watch the change from inside
The protective shield obliterated into dust
Wings torn from flesh
Innoe abe abandons my wanting hands
Cowering in the darkness of my own mind
Hiding from the day
Away from the light
Away from humanity
My inner child lifeless and frigid
Her eyes clear as glass and I witness
Her hollow existence
Do I seek retribution?
My revenge justified by tormenting that
Who has hurt me
Let humankind bleed till it screams for mercy
But there is no mercy for my vengeance
Only the demon that consumes me
That bides me
That feeds me
That leaves me craving for more
