The Game
Chapter 1:
Resurrection
Two forms appeared in a small circular chamber containing four podiums, each holding the equivalent to a gallon of water. Candle light reflected off the surface of the liquid giving the room an eerie incandescence.
“That’s her?” questioned a youthful looking woman as she stood before one of the small pools of water, silently staring at the image of a blonde and black haired woman. A hateful sneer marred her pale features, which were framed by dark black hair. Chocolate brown eyes were shielded by a pair of tinted lenses.
“I believe so, Lady Alira,” replied the nasal voice of a man as his taistristress pushed a strand
of her hair out of her face. He stood beside her, his entire body covered except for his face.
The woman scoffed in utter disgust. Hrimsrimson lips curled down as she studied the image in the pool. “How can someone so weak destroy my brother? Look at her; she is barely able to
breathe.”
“Well, milady, according to reports from the battle, the girl seems to have a sort of elemental ability which is usually only found by those to deemed to be Spirilite Royalty,” he said as a stray lock of dark brown hair fell into his black eyes.
“What kind of ability?” Alira questioned as she turned her icy eyes were focused on the sniveling creature beside her.
He stuttered a bit before answering, “The ability to have the ground move by simply thinking about it.”
“Only one person everever had that ability, and that was simply the mongrel daughter of that wretched traitor who formed a rebellion against the original leaders of this place. Not even my
mother had that ability after she had been given the title of queen, and she was the strongest woman ever known.”
“Yes, but your brother believed that girl to be the reincarnation of Drea.”
“Drea’s reincarnation? If that is even possible, then it is no wonder she is so weak, but still. How did she defeat Verus? She is barely a child, and Verus was our leader. It’s impossible,” the raven haired woman exclaimed angrily.
He shrank back fearfully, terrified by the fiery hatred filling her eyes. He had only seen that look when she had been watching over the execution of traitors who had desired to oust her from the throne.
“A-Apparently, the girl, Kalina Lourince, is able to not only control Drea’s full powers, but was able to defeat the Three, a feat only accomplished by Drea herself,” he said.
“God, Valar, you sound like a boring old manuscript,” Alira sighed tiredly, her personality changing from the strict ruler to that of an almost adolescent girl. “Look, just get me a list of her weaknesses since you know so much about her.”
“Y-Yes, milady. I’ll do that right away. If you would like I could tell you about some of her physical weaknesses as well as her emotional and mental. I mean there are many, but I could at least go over-“
“Shut up!” Alira snapped. “Just write it out in a way that won’t put me to sleep like you will. Until then, tell your source to find information that my fighters can use against her like friends, family, and all that.”
“Yes, Lady Alira. As you wish,” he said with a bow before turning and walking away.

Kalina woke and found herself in a large room full of beeping machines and harsh fluorescent lights.
“How are you feeling, My Queen?” questioned an elderly sounding female voice.
“Like telling you to fuck off for calling me a queen. I thought that both Dorian and I told you to call me Kalina,” she retorted as she turned her head to look at the woman. Her salt and pepper hair was pulled back into a bun; her light brown eyes were covered by a pair of thick lenses which made them look almost like the characters in Joni’s comics.
“Yes, I know, but you are Drea, and was was queen, even though she hadn’t been officially crowned. It is only proper. Did Dorian not tell you?”
“Drea was a queen? I thought she had only been a princess. But I guess that would- Ugh . . . I don’t wantbe qbe queen,” the blonde groaned before she suddenly shot up into a
sitting position in the small bed. “Wait a minute! Dorian! Where is he?”
“The tests have begun to see if he is to be punished for his crime,” the woman said as she walked over to the young woman and injected her with a slight sedative that was strong enough to put the girl back to sleep.
“Ow! Son of a- What the hell was that for?” Kalina spat crossly.
The older woman sighed exasperatedly before starting the explanation. “Dorian explicitly said that if you were to wake up and start moving around. I was to give you a sedative to put you back to sleep. The one I gave you is not a strong one. However, if you continue to move around, I will not hesitate to give you a stronger one, which comes with its own needle which scared even him. That includes if you continue to curse the way you do. If I hear one more foul word come from that mouth of yours, you will be asleep for the next three days.”
“What is it with everyone here and my cursing? First it was Dorian, then Vincent, now you. Is it like a fatal sin that I say the odd word every now and then?”
“Actually, it is. However, seeing how you are from Earth and from the United States at that, I cxcusxcuse it every now and then.”
The blonde looked almost stunned before she felt the medicine start to take effect. “Look . . . Not everyone in the US cusses like a sailor. I just picked it up from my friends. That, and drinking. Now what was it that you drugged . . . because I am . . . starting to feel . . . the tiniest bit . . . funky.”
The woman smiled. “I’ll tell you when you wake Now,Now, just rest. You stiled ted to heal, and your part of the tests will commence next week if you are healed.”
Kalina tried to respond, but felt as sleep overtook her. Her pale lavender eyes drifted shut as she relaxed into a deathlike slumber.
