Ch6B: Ring-a-Ding

[Btw I was away and skipped updating a couple times, but I'm back now and should be updating weekly again- until this finishes up soon! :)]

I groaned. “Why are people up this early?” Forcing myself off the sofa, I made my way to the door. It better just be a delivery guy dropping something off. I mean, who the hell else could it be?

Opening the door, I blinked at the large-barreled chest meeting my eyes. I looked up passed the muscular neck and shoulders, and saw a familiar face smiling self-consciously down at me.

“Eric?”

“Um, sorry. I think I left my helmet with you last night after you dropped me off.”

“Oh…” I blinked, my mind trying to make sense of this simple but confusing statement. “How did you get here?”

“Oh, a friend of mine knows bikes and lives in my building. He fixed it right up this morning.”

“Ah.”

“Sorry, uh, I didn’t think it was early. You look tired. I can come back—”

“No, it’s fine.” I rubbed my groggy eyes. “We’ll go down to the garage. The helmet’s probably in the compartment under the seat. I’ll grab my keys.”

I motioned him in and he froze. “You have company.”

“Oh, yeah. This is Cole. Cole, umm, Eric.” I saw Cole blink as the name registered, and I prayed he wouldn’t say anything. I grabbed my keys (damn I was glad I hung them on a hook right by the door) and pulled Eric out the door.

“So,” I said as we made our way down, “how did you, ya know, find my address?”

His cheeks flushed, which made him look cute, but guilty. “I, uh, I know the owner of your bar. I kind of asked him for it.”

I didn’t know what surprised me more, that Eric knew Dallas, or that Dallas had been cognizant enough in the morning to actually give him my address. “Oh,” was all I managed.

We didn’t say much else. I was tired and being near him was stupidly distracting. One night- a few hours really- and I already knew his scent. It wrapped around me, stirred me. It was disturbing, frankly. That his presence had such an effect on me so quickly.

“Here it is,” I said, pulling the helmet out from the beneath the seat and handing it to him. Our fingers brushed and I had to fight down a purr. Ridiculous!

-->Update: If you think Ferd should stay in the garage with Eric go to Ch7C, or if you think Ferd should invite him upstairs, go to Ch7D

-->You’ll get two choices next week, so no need to vote! Just check in next Friday- unless there’s something in particular you’d like to see! If so, let me know!
