Lou’s eyes snapped open the moment the sun set. He sat up, wincing at the pain in his lower back. He had known incubi to fuck like rabbits, but damn. The man had kept him up within an hour until sunrise before finally letting him rest. And even then, the bastard had gotten two more orgasms out of him before the sun finally forced him to sleep. He looked around, finding the bed empty with no signs of the demon…or his clothes, he thought with a growl. He kicked the silk sheets off the bed and stood up.
“Well, I’m not walking around here naked.” He said out loud, marching over to the dresser and yanking it open. He pulled out a dark blue dress-shirt, slipping it on. He frowned when it came to rest mid-thigh with the sleeves stopping just before his finger-tips, forcing him to push them back as he buttoned the shirt up. He knew that the incubus was tall but he didn’t dwarf him
that much! He stopped his mental grumbling when he heard music coming from the other room. He stomped across the room, throwing the door open. “Where the fuc- oh shit.” He froze, staring at the four men seated in the room.
“Louis?”
Oh fuck me, the blue-haired vampire thought as he stared at the man.
“Do you know this Childe, James?”
James nodded, his brown eyes locked on Lou. “Yeah, he’s from Master Sable’s coven and is Adrian’s little brother.”
What were the chances that Adrian’s best friend would be in the office of the man he’d just spent the entire night fucking? Seriously,
what were the fucking chances?
James sniffed the air, frowning at Lou, his eyes slowly dragging over his form.
What a sight he must have made...his midnight blue hair tousled from Sinclair’s hands, lips swollen from harsh kisses, and bite marks littering his collar bone.
James’s eyes rested on his thighs where a large hickey had formed.
“
Ahem.”
All eyes turned back towards Sinclair who had, up until this point, remained passive. “If you gentlemen will excuse me for a moment.” He said, standing up and moving around the desk towards Lou, only to have James step in front of him.
“Does your brother know that you’re here?” James questioned as he crossed his arms over his chest, glaring at Sinclair and then at Lou. “Do I even
want to know what you’ve been doing?”
“Why is that’s always the first question I get asked? Does Adrian know this and Does Adrian know that…we’re all aware I’m an adult right?” Lou snapped as Sinclair made his way past James.
The incubus placed his hand around the back of the vampire’s neck, his thumb rubbing circles against the smooth skin.
“As for what I’ve been doing…” The blue-haired vampire trailed off, giving the enforcer a wicked smile. “I’m sure you can guess.”
“Are you stupid?” James hissed, taking a step towards them only to have Sinclair move Lou behind him.
“Do not insult my lover.” He said, turning his back to the vampires.
“I’m not your lover!” Lou hissed glaring at the incubus. Sinclair ignored him, leading them back to the bedroom despite James’s protests on the matter. “And what the
fuck is a Master vampire doing here?”
“We’re discussing a business deal. He’s interested in opening a new club that caters to vampires with certain…fetishes.” Sinclair explained as he pulled Lou against him. “I had no idea that you’d look so good in my clothes.” He murmured, burying his face in Lou’s neck and inhaling their mingling scents. “I think I’d like to see you in them a lot more often.”
Lou snorted, pushing the incubus away. “The only reason I’m in your clothes in the first place is because mine are missing.” He hissed, sending him a scowl. “Time’s up. I want my clothes and I want my information.” He stepped back when Sinclair reached for him, causing the incubus to frown.
“My lovers aren’t normally so eager to go.”
“Yeah, well, that’s the problem. I’m not your lover.” The vampire replied, still glaring. “And because of you, I’m going to be in a ton of shit when Adrian gets wind of this.”
“After last night, I don’t believe you can claim otherwise.” Sinclair stated, his crimson eyes narrowing on Lou.
“That was a
business deal. Nothing more than fucking.”
Sinclair smirked and Lou suddenly found himself pressed back against the incubus. “My pretty vampire…you don’t give yourself enough credit.” He whispered, kissing one of the dark marks he had left against the vampire’s pale skin. “I’ll have you, one way or another.”
“Sir.” Sinclair pulled back to look over at Cylis as the pale-haired demon stepped into the room. “Your guests are still waiting and I have your companion’s clothes right here.” He said, holding up the small bundle. “I even took the liberty of fetching him some underwear.” The look he shot Lou caused the vampire to flush subtly and pull his shirt down further.
“Thank you, Cylis. Do you have the envelope I asked for?” He saw the other incubus nod and hold up a manila envelope. “Thank you, Cylis. That is all.”
“Sir.” He responded as he set the clothes and envelope down and then stepped out of the room. Sinclair released Lou, walking over to pick up the envelope.
“This has everything you wanted to know inside.” He said, turning back to Lou.
The vampire, practically bouncing on his feet in excitement, tried to snatch the envelope from him only to have it pulled out of reach. “Now what?” He hissed.
“According to the contract, we still three minutes before it’s up.”
Lou stared at the incubus, disbelief fluttering across his face. “I’m not fucking you again.” He replied in a deadpanned tone of voice.
“I want a kiss.”
“A kiss? Just one?” The vampire asked suspiciously.
Sinclair nodded, holding out a hand to the vampire.
Lou bit his bottom lip, looking between the envelope and Sinclair’s outstretched hand. One kiss wouldn’t hurt much, he thought, placing his hand in Sinclair’s. He expected to be forcibly pulled against the incubus again, but was surprised when he was
gently pulled towards him. Sinclair cupped his chin, gently lifting it up before slanting his mouth over his. The tenderness of the kiss caused his toes to curl. The kiss was soft and slow, and everything that Lou had never experienced in a kiss before. He swallowed down a whimper when Sinclair’s tongue brushed against his.
Lou pulled back, turning away from the incubus so that his hair covered his face. He held out his hand for the envelope, refusing to look at Sinclair. If he had, he would have noticed the triumphant look on the incubus’s face as he slid the envelope into his hand.
“I’ll have Cylis take you home.” Sinclair said over his shoulder as he exited the room.
When the door was shut, Lou lifted his head, glaring at the spot where the incubus had just been. His cheeks were flushed a deep red and his eyes were darkened with desire. He reached a hand up, running a finger across his bottom lip. What the hell had been up with that kiss? What was the incubus playing at?
He growled, grabbing his clothes from the dresser and pulling them on. When he re-entered the room that time, the conversation didn’t stop. But, he could feel James’s eyes watching him. He hit the button for the elevator, staring down at the envelope. He really hopped what had done was worth it because-
“Louis.” The vampire jumped, having not noticed the Enforcer following him out. “My name is
Lou.” He said, turning back towards the elevator and pressing the button a few more times.
James ran a hand through his auburn hair, giving the Childe a frustrated look. “Lou, listen. After your father died, you know he told your brother to watch out for you.” He said, reaching out to place a hand on the Childe-vampire’s shoulder. “He wouldn’t want you to be in a place like this or hanging out with a man like that.”
“Look, it’s not even
like that. I’m just doing a job for my Boss. After this, I’m never going to see this place or that incubus again.” Lou explained, stepping away from the Enforcer and into the elevator. “So, don’t worry about it.” He finished as the elevator doors slid closed. He sighed, leaning against the wall and running his hand through his hair. The things he had to put up with. “They act like I’m going to go off and
marry the guy.” He said with a snort.
“You don’t want to marry him?”
“Gah!” The vampire banged his head against the wall, turning to face Cylis. The incubus stood beside him, a fox like grin on his face, as he stared at the Childe in amusement. “Really, Cylis? Don’t you have better things to do than jump out at unsuspecting vampires?”
“
Most vampires wouldn’t be unsuspecting.” The incubus replied.
“I’m not most vampires.”
A strange look passed through the incubus’s eyes. “Yes, I can see that.”
Lou stepped out of the elevator, making the short track down the hall before stepping out into the crowded club.
“Perhaps I….”
Lou didn’t hear the rest of Cylis’s sentence, as it was drowned out over blasting techno beat. He pushed past the grinding bodies until he made it to the front door. Once he made it out of the club, he pulled out his cell phone dialing Luca’s number.
“Hello?”“Hey Boss, I got the info, are you with the dogs?” There was a pause, then he heard a soft laugh ghosting over the line.
“
Yes.”“Alright I’ll-” He cut off as a black SUV pulled up in front of him and Cylis stepped out. He opened the back door, looking at Lou expectantly. “One second Boss.” Lou said, covering the phone with a hand. “What?”
“I’m supposed to take you home.” Cylis told the vampire dryly.
“I’m not going home.” He gave the incubus a shooing gesture, turning back to the phone. “Sorry about that Boss, as I was saying, I’ll meet you there.”
Cylis narrowed his eyes on the Childe vampire and then walked over him. He picked him up bridal style, ignoring his protests and the strange looks they were receiving from onlookers. He tossed him into the car, slamming the door shut, and then slipped into the front seat.
“Let me out of this fucking car!” Lou yelled, pulling on the door handle and growling when it wouldn’t open.
“The door is not going to open unless
I open it.” Cylis told him. “Now, where am I taking you?”
The vampire stopped trying to kick the door in order to sulk at the incubus. “Lake Woods.”
“You do know that’s shifter territory.”
Lou glowered at him. “Just drive.”
Cylis smirked. “As you wish.”
--
Luca stared down at the phone, a frown marring his delicate features. He wondered if he should be worried about the childe vampire. He looked up as the kitchen door opened and a messy-haired pup stuck her head in. She looked at Luca with red rimmed eyes before inching into the room. She stared at him, her lower lip trembling tears swelling in her beautiful hazel-nut eyes.
“Hello.” The vampire said cautiously. “My name is Lucassius.” She stared at him for a moment before slowly crossing the room until she stood next to his chair. “You must be Isabella.” She sniffled, nodding her head. “Mika told me about you.” He finished softly.
“You know my
fratello?” She asked in a watery voice.
“Yes, I’ve known your
fratello since he was seven years old.” He told her. She sniffed again, holding out her arms. With a small smile, Luca leaned down to pick her up, pulling the tearful pup into his lap. He brushed her chestnut hair out of her face. “Beautiful girls like yourself should not cry.” He advised, pulling out his handkerchief and wiping the tears away.
“I miss M-Mika and Chance.” She whimpered with a small sob, burying her face in his neck.
“I know, beloved. Your brothers and I, along with the rest of the alphas, are working very hard to get them back, okay?” He pointed out, stroking her hair.
“Why did they take them from us? They are ours, not theirs.”
Luca sighed, pressing a kiss on top of her head. “Sometimes, people do things that harm others for selfish reasons, understand?” Luca responded as he wiped the tears away.
She nodded, letting out a small yawn before snuggling against him. “You smell
dolce…soft…sweet. Are you sure you’re a
vampiro?” She asked, blinking up at him.
“Would you like to see my fangs?” He asked laughing softly when she shook her head no. “I promise I don’t bite.”
“Yes you do.” She said tucking her head under his chin closing her eyes as sleep overtook her.
“You are good with children.”
He looked up as Candelora entered the room. “You have your own,
Si?”“
Si, twin boys. But…I have not seen them in a very long time.”
She shook her head, giving him a sad look. “What are their names?” She asked, taking Bella from him.
“Serabeil and Love.” He smiled faintly, his hand resting on the amethyst amulet around his neck. “They have my eyes.”
“And their mother? She is…around
Si?” She asked, tilting her head to the side.
“No. As per vampire customs, when one of my particular bloodlines reaches a certain age, we’re obligated to have children merely as a means of preservation.” He paused, his eyes dropping. “I raised them until around a hundred and fifty years ago, when they decided that they wanted to explore the world on their own.” He looked up when she placed a hand on his cheek.
“That is much too long for a father to go without seeing his children. You find them and then you bring them here,
Si? I want to know the children of the man who will save mine.” She told him.
“I will see what I can do.” He said with a smile.
She nodded in satisfaction, then left the room as Lovel entered with Liam in tow.
“Good evening.” Luca said as they sat down opposite of him.
“Have you heard anything?” Liam asked.
“Lou should be here soon with his information.” Luca said, tucking a stray lock behind his ear.
“How could he do this? I mean it doesn’t make sense. He was so upset when Chelle went missing that he damn near tore the city apart looking for her.” Lovel said, running his hand down his face. “He’s an alpha. We’re supposed to…”
“We when we him and whoever he’s been working for, we will ask him.” Luca said, his eyes glowing blue. “Right after we find out what he’s done with the other wolves.”
“Seriously! Leave me the fuck alone!”
They all turned as the backdoor was thrown open and Lou stumbled in, blue hair flying all around him. Behind him was a white haired incubus staring down at the vampire in amusement.
“I’m just doing my job. Aren’t I allowed even that?” Lou hissed, trying to slam the door on him.
Cylis shook his head at the Childe vampire. The things he put up with for his charge’s sake. “Manners will be the first thing to fix…” He muttered to himself.
“Can we help you?” Luca asked, standing along with Lovel and Liam. The Alpha moved away from the counter, his eyes narrowed in on the incubus.
Cylis looked away from the fuming vampire to the other occupants of the room. His eyes widened when they landed on Luca and he took a step back. “Your high-”
“Who are you?” Luca said, cutting him off.
Cylis eyed him for a moment, his eyes straying to the amulet attached to Luca’s ascot. When he looked back up into the vampire’s eyes, he could see the warning in them. His lips quirked and he gave Luca the tiniest nod of acknowledgement. “Forgive me. My name is Cylis. My charge sent me to make sure that his companion returned home safely. You can see how I would worry when he tells me to take him to the woods, which is well known shifter territory.” Cylis summarized, giving a small bow.
“Sorry about this, Boss. This arsehole doesn’t know the meaning of ‘fuck off’.” Lou grumbled, grabbing Cylis’s shoulders and giving the demon a push.
“Then, the mouth…” Cylis replied with amusement etched in his voice.
“
What? You know what, never mind. I don’t even care anymore.” Lou huffed, throwing his hands up in the air and spinning around to face Luca and the wolves. “Oh God, Boss! You will never believe what Eclipse is! It’s a-”
“Drug. Yes, we know.” Liam said, cutting him off and causing the vampire to glare at him.
“And they’re using the shifter blood to make it addictive again.” Luca continued.
“I suppose you already know that Desmund Crowell is the only demon distributing it.” Lou finished with a pout.
“Did you say Crowell?” Luca asked his voice deadly low.
“Yes, he runs the club uh…” The blue-haired vampire reached into his pocket, pulling out the folded paper work. “P.R.A.Y…seriously, paranormals. Can we get anymore
clichéd with our club names?”
“I’ll take my leave now that I see that Lou is fine.” Cylis admitted, turning to leave. “It was a pleasure.”
“Indeed.” Luca replied before turning his attention to Lou. “May I see that?” He asked, holding out his hand.
“Sure, Boss.” Lou replied, handing over the papers. “Something wrong?”
“I know Crowell. We’ve dealt with him before for the endangerment of fledglings. He was forced to close down and was let off with a warning.” Luca elaborated, his eyes scanning paper. “Let’s go now.” He concluded, crumbling the paper in his hand.
--
“Adrian, don’t you think this is a little much?” Lafayette asked, following the raging vampire towards the living room. He threw the doors to the lounge room open, startling a few of the younger vampires.
“Have any of you seen Louis?” Adrian hissed, his eye flashing red. The vampires paled and shook their heads, trying to edge away from the Enforcer without him noticing. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Erik flinch, looking everywhere but at him. “
Erik.” He took a step towards the blond.
Erik looked up at him, his baby blues going wide and his white skin turning deadly pale. “Y-yes?” He asked, swallowing.
With each step that Adrian took towards him, Erik took one back, until he was pressed against the wall with the blond enforcer glaring down at him.
Adrian leaned forward until they were eye to eye, his crimson red orb boring into him. “Do you know something that you’re not telling me?”
“I-I …” Eric stumbled over his words, looking at Lafayette for help. He had just
known this would happen. Why the hell did he think it was a good idea to trust Lou? Now, Adrian was going to kill him. “He went to Seduction!” He blurted out, and then covered his mouth, shooting Adrian a terrified look.
“What?” The single word sent a shiver of fear up Erik’s spine.
“He said that it was okay! I even asked him before if it had been alright with you.” The young vampire confessed, pressing against the wall.
“Enforcer Lafayette, Master Christian is here.”
“Alright, thank you Lia.”
The vampire childe nodded before skipping away, her black dress swishing behind her.
“Adrian, leave him alone.” Lafayette warned. “After we tend to Master Christian, we will go find Louis.”
“Fine.” The Enforcer snapped, stepping away from the shaking vampire. He followed Lafayette to the foyer, but not before sending one last glare at Erik.
“Good Evening, Master Christian.” Lafayette said, stopping to bow to the Master.
“Good Evening.” Master Christian said, handing his coat to Lia. “Where is your Master?”
“He’s in his study. Is there something wrong?” Adrian asked.
“It’s about your brother.” James said quietly from the master’s side.
“Has Louis done something wrong?” Lafayette asked, sharing a look with Adrian.
“I wouldn’t exactly say ‘wrong,’ but, James was concerned with the situation. So, I thought it best to inform your Master.” Christian elaborated.
“What, exactly, is the situation?” They all turned as Sable strolled into the foyer, his black hair pulled back into a slick pony tail. His silvery blue eyes locked on them. “Christian.” He nodded respectively.
“Sable.” He said with his own nod. “Perhaps we can discuss this somewhere more privately.” He suggested, nodding at a couple of fledglings that had been spying around the corner. They blushed, ducking back into the room, causing Sable to chuckle lightly.
“My office awaits.” He offered, leading the small group up the red velvet stairs. Sable pushed the door open, moving to his desk. Adrian and Lafayette stood off to the side with Taren and James as Christian took the seat in front of the desk. “Would you care for a drink?” He asked, nodding towards the golden brown liquid.
“No, thank you.” Christian declined politely.
“Alright, now tell me what little Lou has gotten into that a Master saw fit to come see me.” Sable asked as he poured himself a glass.
“I was visiting the owner of Seduction, a night a club, you see…as I’m currently negotiating a property deal with him.”
Sable lifted an eyebrow at the vampire. “And this was cause for concern why?” He asked bringing the cup to his lips.
“Lou is sleeping with the owner.”
“I don’t see why that’s a problem.” Sable commented.
“The owner is an incubus.”
The glass in Sable’s hand shattered. “He’s a what?” He asked, his voice dripping with acid.
“An incubus.”
James chanced a look over at Adrian and found the blond vampire’s head was bowed so that his bangs covered his eyes.
Adrian was trembling, his fist clenched at his sides. “Is he still there?”
“He was leaving when we last saw him.” Christian answered as he stood up.
“Thank you for informing us. I will be sure to speak with him about his recent…actions. Lafayette, Adrian please see Christian off.” Sable requested as he cleaned off his hand.
“Yes Master.” They said, leading the other vampires back down the stairs.
Lafayette helped Christian back into his coat, walking him out the door with Taren behind him. James placed a hand on Adrian’s shoulder, turning the blond to face him.
“There’s something else.” James told him, his voice low. “I’m only telling you this because you’re my best friend and I know how you feel about your brother.”
“What is it?”
“Whatever job your brother has gotten…I think he needs to quit. He said that sleeping with the incubus was only a job for his ‘boss’.” James explained with worry etched in his bright brown eyes.
“Thank you for going through the trouble to tell me this.” Adrian replied, squeezing the hand on his shoulder. “I’ll make sure to put a stop to this tonight.”
“Please don’t do anything rash, Addie.”
Adrian smirked at the nickname. James only called him that when he was really worried. “I won’t.”
James gave him a deadpanned look. “Remember the last time you said that?” He asked with a flat tone.
“No.”
“Exactly.” He said with a roll of his eyes. “I’m serious, Adrian. Do
not do anything stupid. I really don’t need to find out that you ended up staked.” He admonished.
Adrian gave him an innocent smile, leading him down the steps to the awaiting limo. “Good Bye James.” He said, holding the door open for the vampire.
James climbed into the car, shooting Adrian one last look of warning before the door was shut. The minute that the car pulled off, Adrian snarled, his eyes turning a deep crimson red.
“Adrian.”
The blonde turned towards Lafayette, baring his fangs at the Enforcer.
“Please don’t do anything reckless.”
“I won’t.” He said before turning and walking away.
“I really do hope that whatever the fledgling is doing is worth the nightmare he’s about to bring down on himself.” Lafayette said with a sigh.
--
“Did he get home alright?” Sinclair asked once Cylis entered.
The older incubus leaned against the door arms folded across his chest. “Yes he did. Your vampire keeps interesting company.” He replied, smirking.
“
My vampire? I thought you didn’t like him?” Sinclair asked, turning to look at his oldest friend, and once caretaker.
“Oh? Perhaps I was too quick in my judgment.” Cylis admitted, moving off the door.
“What did you find out?” Sinclair asked, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. As long as he had known the demon, he had never once changed his mind about any of the lovers he took.
“Oh, this and that…” The other incubus drawled. “They’re going to Pray.”
“He won’t be able to get
into Pray without an invite.” Sinclair mused thoughtfully.
“
I know that.
You know that. But,
he doesn’t know that.”
“I’m suddenly in mood to visit Desmund.” The incubus said while standing. “You’ll watch the club for me.”
“Of course.”
--
“What the fuck do you mean, we need an invite?” Lou snapped, glaring at the manager. He was three seconds away from punching the stuck up s.o.b. in the nose.
“What part of
invitation only don’t you understand? Now, if you don’t get off the premises, I’ll have you thrown out. Besides…” The man sneered at Lovel and Liam. “No dogs allowed.”
“Who the hell are you calling dog?” Liam growled, taking a step forward, only to be held back by Lovel.
“Pardon me.” Luca said, stepping forward, a sultry smile in place. He tilted his head to the side so that his hair fell over one eye. “It’s rather important that I speak with Desmund. I assure you that my visit would not be unwanted.”
The man flushed, staring as the vampire’s eyes raked over his form. “I’m sure Mr. Crowell would be very pleased with your visit. However, if you don’t have an invite, you don’t get in. Sorry.” He finished with a small shrug.
“What seems to be the problem?” The small group turned as a black-haired incubus strutted up to them.
Lou groaned when he recognized him. He had just gotten
rid of the arsehole. But, there he was again, with that annoying cocky smile.
“M-Mr. Sinclair, sir. Welcome. Mr. Desmund has been awaiting your arrival.” The man replied, hastily shoving Lou out of the way to make room for Sinclair.
The incubus caught the vampire as he stumbled, bringing him to his side. “Falling into my arms again so soon?” He asked low enough so that only Lou could hear.
The vampire scowled at him, pulling away to move back over to Luca’s side.
“Is this your...boss?” Sinclair asked, eying Luca in slight distaste. The man was rather beautiful. What if his pretty vampire was in love with him, he thought, his eyes darkening in jealousy. That just wouldn’t do.
“Yes, my name is Luca.” The vampire answered, holding out a slender pale hand. “I take it you are the owner of Seduction?” Luca asked, looking between the incubus and the Childe vampire with a look of amusement passing over his features.
“Yes I am.” Sinclair said taking the offered hand.
“A pleasure.” Luca commented, ignoring the snort Lou gave.
“It seems you’re having a bit of trouble?” Sinclair noted, gesturing towards the manager who stood off to the side nervously watching the exchange.
“Yes, it’s seems we’re short an invitation.” Luca explained, watching as the incubus’s gaze drifted back to Lou.
The blue-haired vampire stood off to the side, glaring from Sinclair to the manager, and then back again.
“I see. Well, it just so happens that my invitation extends to any party I bring with me.” The incubus told them.
“Oh? And are you offering to extend it to us? That would be rather generous.” Luca purred.
“Yes, on one condition though.” Sinclair warned, smirking at Lou.
Lou eyed him warily, taking a step back. He didn’t like the look on the man’s face.
“And what is that?” Luca asked.
“He has to dance with me.” Sinclair replied, nodding towards Lou.
“Hell n-”
“Deal.” Luca decided, cutting Lou off.
“What?!” Lou gasped, staring at his boss in shock. He had…he had just sold him out! To a fucking incubus, at that!
“Excellent.” Sinclair affirmed, grabbing Lou before the vampire could protest. “Add them to my party.” He said as he walked past the gaping man, dragging Lou along with him.
“Y-yes, sir.” He said. “May I please have your names?” He added hastily, pulling out a pen.
“Luca, Lovel, Liam and Lou.” Luca responded, following the incubus with Lovel and Liam in tow. In a childish move, Liam stuck his tongue out at the man before entering the building.
“Boss, how could you do this to me? I just got rid of him.” Lou cried as he was dragged away from the small group.
“It’s only a dance.” Luca called, waving good bye to the panicking Childe vampire. “You’d think I’d sentenced him to his death.”
“Let’s find this Desmund guy.” Liam redirected, cracking his knuckles. “The sooner the better.”
“Yes, let’s.” Luca agreed, a cruel smile curling on his lips. “We’re long overdue for a visit.”
