Atreyu walked beside Liwanu with his hands behind his head as they made their way to the communal hut where the breeder's typically watched their children. It served both as a day care, and in the cold winter months, many breeder's would gather there to weave and do crafts since there was no work to be done in the fields.
The young chief took Liwanu's advice to try and mingle with the village breeder's in hopes of getting over his infatuation with Jaci. He supposed it would be fun to test the waters and feel the oats of his youth. A few casual lays wouldn't harm anything, and perhaps a wife would come out of it too. "So if one of them is interested in me, should I ask him out? Go for a stroll somewhere? I've never really done this sort of thing. Help me out here." Atreyu nudged Liwanu with his elbow as they reached the doorway to the large hut. He looked up to his wicasa, and although the two had yet to form an intimate bond with each other, their friendship had been steadily growing each day.

Liwanu shrugged as they entered the hut, returning a few greetings that arose from the breeders gathered inside. Although Liwanu was a common sight among them, the appearance of Atreyu was cause for a flurry of whispers and shy, speculative glances. The children were gathered at the center where they played under the watchful eyes of their mothers. Married breeders and single breeders tended to each clump together in their own groups and it was easy to identify which was which by the lack of a marriage band around their wrist. It was a good bet that the majority of time was spent gossiping than working, but the cold season was always less industrious than the spring and summer months.
“There's no protocol for flirting. Do whatever feels natural. The breeder will usually lead you on.” Liwanu replied, “For me and Paku, it was a pretty aggressive courtship. I chased him and he fought me. I had never pursued any other breeder like that; most before I met Paku were sweet, docile, eager to please, especially since I was the future shaman of the tribe. Paku was the furthest thing from that, but I have to admit it was the most exciting time of my life and I cherish every bruise I earned from him.”
Liwanu chuckled at the memories and shook his head. “It finally ended when I tackled him in the woods one day and we rutted like wild animals. I asked him to marry me the next day. Next to the day my son was born, that was the best day of my life.” Liwanu reached down and ruffled Atreyu's hair. “So, don't sweat it. Just find a cute one who isn't spoken for and start talking to them, then follow your instincts.”

A pair of pale green eyes glanced up from the beaded dress he had been working on and a graceful brow arched. The breeder spotted the chief and his mate and was most curious as to why Atreyu was there, but he knew when opportunity was knocking. His dusky tail wagged side to side as he lowered his project and stood up, practically skipping over to the pair.
"Chief Atreyu! What an honor to be blessed by your presence. It's been a while since I have seen you! And hello to you as well Liwanu." The breeder, flicked one of his braided pigtails, then placed a delicate hand over his heart and bowed to his chief and wicasa. He was one of the more refined looking breeders of the group, having a moon-shaped face, silky dark hair that had shades of red in the sunlight, and mildly tanned skin. He often wore a lot of jewelry and had different sized gauges in his ears with feathers hanging from them. Naomi was no stranger to praise either, and he milked it for all it was worth. He gave a sweet smile, showing off a birthmark he had on his lower lip.
"Hello Naomi..." Atreyu smiled back at the pretty breeder, amazed that he didn't need to make any effort in mingling and talking since the breeder had done it for him. He remembered Naomi used to have a crush on his brother before he passed. The faun looked sweet enough, he was surprised his brother never took interest in him. "What are you making there?"
The faun turned to gaze upon his handiwork he left on the floor. It was a bit of a selfish project. He wanted a nice dress to wear so he could show off, but of course he wouldn't admit to such a thing. "Oh, just a dress for spring time. It's nothing much. What brings you here today? It's not common for the chief to visit us in here. Are you looking for someone?"
Atreyu shook his head then, reaching back to ruffle his hair. "No, just wanted to mingle and get to know my fellow villagers more. Erm, breeders specifically." The faun hated how socially awkward he always felt. Life was so much easier before he became the chief and had everyone looking at him with reverence. In a way, his power distanced him from the people he once was able to interact with freely, never a care in the world.
Naomi rubbed his chin and gave Atreyu a coy look. If this meant what he thought it meant, now was the time for him to sink his talons into the chief and get what he really wanted. A nice large hut, luxurious furs, the best meals, and a chief to pamper him for the rest of his days. It would be too good to be true, and he deserved nothing less than the best. "Oh I see, would you mind my company much? I... I wouldn't mind getting to know you better." He practically purred out that last sentence, scooting up closer to Atreyu and making his interest clear. He then looked to Liwanu, a slight twinkle in his eyes. "Perhaps the three of us can go somewhere...?" His last question seemed to hold some promise and he was not above having a little romp with the chief and his mate, though he was certain Pakuna would flip. If he knew that is...

Liwanu raised an eyebrow, but was hardly surprised by how forward Naomi was being. He knew the breeder well, as did a good majority of the rest of the tribe, and Naomi was more than likely hoping to ingratiate himself with Atreyu as soon as possible in the hopes of getting a proposal. Liwanu inwardly grimaced, already imagining what it would be like if Pakuna had to share a tent with this one. It would be like living in a war zone. The shaman reached out and slid an arm around Atreyu's waist, pulling the young chief back to his side in a proprietary gesture that was only to be expected from a newly mated pair and made a point of Naomi's bad manners to proposition Atreyu so quickly.
“Naomi, we just arrived. We don't want to leave already. I only brought Atreyu here so he could see what it was I did all day. After all, it's important for mates to know what the other one is up to if there's to be understanding.” Liwanu replied with a smile, giving Naomi a pointed look. “Atreyu spends all his time with hunters and has no idea of the hard work that breeders perform, so I'm giving him an education. You had better go back to your dress; it will be spring before you know it.”
With a dismissive gesture, Liwanu turned away with Atreyu and lead him further back into the communal hut shared by the breeders. He sighed and shook his head, looking down at his young mate with a rueful smile. “Watch out for that one. Naomi is beautiful, but very ambitious. On the upside, he will definitely be an easy conquest, but you won't learn much about courting from him. That doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy him, however, if he offers again. He definitely knows what he's doing in the furs, I know. Don't tell Paku that I know, though.”
Liwanu grinned, coming to a stop more to the back of the tent where it was safer from ambitious unmarried breeders with a wall of married breeders before them. There was a flash of light and a rush of cold air that made a few of the fires flicker as the hide door was opened to admit a newcomer. The breeder that stepped in was quite petite, more so than the usual, and quite curved in the hips and backside. He pulled back the hood of his fur shawl to reveal a round face that had not yet lost all of its baby fat, but was attractive nonetheless. His features were small and cute, from his button nose to the soft little pout of his lips, but it was his eyes that kept him from looking completely childish. They were almond shaped and a deep, mossy brown that was framed by thick, dark lashes and rimed with khol and light red paint to highlight them. His tanned skin was smooth and glowed in the firelight like burnished bronze, a red flush across his nose and cheeks from the cold. Cocoa colored hair was pulled up into messy pigtails in an endearing style that framed his chubby face perfectly. The fur on his dainty ears and hooves was a darker brown.
“Ah, there's Nana.” Liwanu grinned and pointed the breeder out to Atreyu. Nana had just finished shedding his winter shawl, snowflakes dusting his hair like diamond dust, and was joining one of the circles of single breeders with a smile, greeting his friends. “Nana is a couple years younger than you, not quite in his maturity, but he's become highly desired nonetheless. You can tell just by looking at him that he's going to drop more than a few healthy sons; look at those hips. He's got a sweet personality besides and he's good to talk to. He's got a lot of friends in the village and he's very good at managing a home and cooking. He has as many hunters courting him as Naomi does and he's the younger one. I think he's also one of Paku's cousins.”
Liwanu looked down at Atreyu, folding his arms across his chest. “Nana will teach you a lot about courting and how to properly woo a breeder and Naomi will show you how to be wild and enjoy yourself. They're both the most desired breeders in the tribe, but that's not to say you won't enjoy the company of any of the other breeders here. I encourage you to try as many as you can and see what sort of personality suits you most.” He grinned and his eyes twinkled mischievously. “And by 'try' I don't mean roll around with each one in the furs. Talk to them, flirt with them, see who you like. As chief, you can have your pick. If you want to go on that 'walk' with Naomi, by all means. Enjoy yourself.”

Atreyu's ears fell back a bit in surprise by how forward Naomi was being. Despite his inexperience with breeders, he was fairly certain the breeder was making a sexual pass at him and Liwanu. It seemed that Naomi was the loose sort, and with his looks the young chief was not at all surprised if the faun made his rounds and warmed many a hunter's furs at night. His lips parted, about to speak when he felt Liwanu pull him closer and speak for him. A slight sigh of relief escaped him then and he smiled up at his mate.
Naomi's perfectly symmetrical brows furrowed and his plump lips formed a pout as Liwanu made his intentions for being there quite clear. His cheeks darkened slightly with embarrassment and he knew it was a not-so-subtle rejection, yet he still had his hopes. Begrudgingly, he want back to work on his dress, turning his nose up to Liwanu then as the shaman guided Atreyu off. He grabbed up his needle and began sewing on more beads, not bothering to hide his anger as he pulled too hard and snapped the thread, sending beads flying everywhere. "Fuck!"
As they walked further into the hut, Atreyu's suspicions were more than confirmed by Liwanu and his jaw nearly dropped at his mate's admitting to having rolled in the furs with Naomi. He imagined it happened before he and Paku bonded. "You dog, you." He chuckled, shaking his head and reaching up to pat Liwanu's back. There was still much he didn't know about his mate, and the wonders never ceased as he learned more and more. "You'll have to tell me about that in more depth sometime. I want details."
Atreyu felt the slight gush of cold air then and turned to see the faun Liwanu was talking about. Nana was quite beautiful and suddenly the chief felt a flutter in his stomach akin to what he felt the first time he had laid eyes on Jaci. "Wow. He's quite beautiful." He mumbled, low enough that only Liwanu could hear. "I think I would like to get to know him better... and not just in the furs, like you said! I will do my best to be a respectful gentleman." Atreyu tried to reassure Liwanu and prove to his mate he could court breeders with the utmost competence and self-restraint. "I think I will just... mosey on over there and introduce myself to him."
Meanwhile, Naomi was crawling on all fours trying to find every bead that rolled away. He looked up then as he caught movement in the corner of his eye, spotting Atreyu making his way over to Nana. He felt hot with jealousy then and scowled at the two, nearly forgetting what he was doing. If anyone was his competition in the village, it was Nana. So young, so pretty.... it infuriated him to no end. He was supposed to be the most desirable, after all. The angry breeder then looked away, resuming his task. A snake-like grin then spread across his lips as an idea struck him. Somehow a few beads wound up rolling in Nana's direction, giving Naomi a reason to crawl over and overhear his conversation with Atreyu.
"Hi there." Atreyu smiled warmly at Nana, hoping he could spark a conversation and not totally blow it. "Liwanu brought me in here today to see what you all are working on, so I was just curious to have a look around at what everyone is making and get an idea of the goings-on here. What do you make? Just curious."

Nana had been busy giggling with one of his friends and didn't notice the chief's approach. He blinked and looked up when heard Atreyu's voice, glancing around for a moment before seeing the other faun. He looked up at the chief, his cheeks and nose still a rosy pink and his deep brown eyes sparkling. “Oh! Chief Atreyu, what a surprise to see you here.” Nana smiled then, his cheeks dimpling and his teeth flashing white. “I'm not doing anything special, just some embroidery.”
Nana jumped a little as his friend nudged him in the ribs with an elbow and Nana whipped his head around to glare at him. The other faun only smirked, giving him a look and gesturing subtly at Atreyu. Nana's lips pursed and he raised an eyebrow questioningly. His friend nodded and grinned, then Nana turned his head back up to look at Atreyu, shaking his head a little.
“Sorry...So, you said Liwanu brought you here? Is he bringing you to work?” Nana laughed and held up the hide he was embroidering. “I can teach you how, if you want. I've always wondered if a hunter could handle doing something that requires more skill than just firing an arrow.”

"I wouldn't mind helping out. I'm a pretty fast learner too, so whatever challenge you toss at me I'm certain I will do well." The chief knew he was stretching the truth a little. Crafts and fine arts were something he had dabbled in as a child when he had to hang around with his mother most of the day. He had learned that his best talent was in making knots and horrendous messes.
Naomi shot a glance up at Nana from his place on the ground and caught the little gesture his friend had made. He decided then to make his presence more known, standing back up and dusting himself off. "Ahem, hello Nana. I couldn't help but overhear you offering to teach Chief Atreyu embroidery? Perhaps I can help as well, I'm good at embroidering with beads as well as thread." The faun then held out his hands full of the beads that had popped off his dress earlier, giving Atreyu his most charming smile. He knew if he let Nana and Atreyu be alone, bad things would happen. Spirits forbid Atreyu become attracted to Nana...
Atreyu was a bit surprised to see Naomi again and he couldn't help but think the breeder was being a little too desperate to spend time with him. "Uh, perhaps it would be better for me to just get a lesson from Nana to start. I'm new to this so it might be less confusing that way..." The faun shifted his hooves, trying his best to politely decline Naomi's offer hoping the faun would get the drift.

Nana raised an eyebrow when Naomi suddenly appeared, surprised for a moment to see him there. Usually the other breeder avoided him as much as possible, although he hardly understood why. Then he realized it was because of Atreyu; the older breeder was probably trying to win over the chief. It was hardly any secret that Naomi only wanted the most successful and handsomest hunters, ones that would spoil him endlessly. Nana smirked and shook his head, turning back to his embroidery. He was hardly hurting for proper suitors and if Naomi was so desperate, he was willing to let Atreyu go.
“Naomi would be a much better teacher, he's very good. His beadwork is very beautiful.” Nana shrugged, “If you really want to learn, you should take lessons from him.”

Naomi couldn't help the wicked grin of satisfaction he got when Nana was all but passing Atreyu up and offering him on a platter. "Why thank you for the sweet compliment, Nana." He chirped, glancing at the other breeder then back to Atreyu. "I suppose I'll just have him come over to my little area and we can get started."
Atreyu was uncertain of what was going on, and couldn't help but feel disappointed as Nana told him to go with Naomi instead. "Wait... Nana offered to teach me first, so it's only fair that I give him a chance." Atreyu knew he needed to be more assertive since Naomi seemed the pushy type. "I'm going to stay here and when I finish up here, then I will go and see what you're doing."
"Ah... I suppose that's all right." Naomi practically stuttered as Atreyu put Nana before him. "I'm sorry for interrupting you two, I'll be over there working." His bright green eyes fell to the floor then as he turned to leave. He had never been turned down so many times in a single day and it was starting to ruin his mood. His ears drooped and his tail hung limp as he made his way back to his dress, plopping down on his woven rug and feeling less than motivated to work.
Atreyu shook his head lightly, watching the defeated breeder retreat to his space. He then turned his mismatched eyes back to Nana, his lips turning up into a soft smile. "So, where do we begin?"

Nana looked up in surprise, having expected Atreyu to leave with Naomi; he couldn't recall ever seeing anyone turn down the other breeder before. He returned the darker brunette's smile a little shyly, then moved over a little, inviting him to sit down.

Pakuna soon entered the communal hut with his arms full of furs that would be sewn into clothing and used to make warm winter boots. He was no stranger to domestic work despite his skills as a hunter. The lithe breeder hurried over to his own little work area, dropping the furs into a large, wicker basket and giving a languid stretch. He was wearing a thick hide dress made up of a poncho top piece and a long skirt, cut with large zig-zagged edges to mimic the rise and fall of the mountains. It all was trimmed with detailed embroidery around the edges, and thin strips of hide forming festive fringes woven with a few colorful beads. Beneath that he wore thick fur leg warmers, wrapped in leather string to keep them secure.
Pakuna then shook out his long, ebony hair that was beaded with water from the snow that had melted in the warm interior. He rubbed his arms and gave a happy sigh, glad to be out of the cold. As much as he admired the beauty of clean white snow, he'd rather be by a toasty fire or resting in his lover's arms with Kuruk. He hated how short the days had grown, and despite it being only midday, the sky outside was dark and grey. Paku sighed then, sitting down and feeling relieved that his parents took Kuruk off his hands for the afternoon, making it easier for him to work.
His icy blue eyes then glanced up as he heard the sounds of giggles and laughter, and an all too familiar voice. He spotted Liwanu then and was tempted to get up and trot over to him to give him a loving embrace, but something made him pause and he decided to sit still and observe his mate for a moment. He hoped, for Liwanu's sake, the faun was not doing what he thought he was doing...

After seeing that Atreyu had gotten settled in with Nana, Liwanu had decided that the boy was fine on his own and settled himself among a group of single breeders himself to do a little socializing. Before he had married, the shaman had been quite a flirt and he couldn't help falling back into old habits now and then. Especially when he was out from under the watchful eye of his wife. Pakuna was less than appreciative of his wandering eye and had made it very clear on more than one occasion when he'd been caught. Not that it deterred him now...
Although Atreyu was the real prize, being the one who was unmarried, as his mate Liwanu had some influence in his choice of a wife and the breeders were all too willing to flirt with him as well. The shaman was more than happy to oblige and was enjoying himself so much that he didn't even notice the arrival of his wife.

Pakuna crossed his arms, fuming silently for a moment as he watched his husband blatantly flirting with the single breeders. It seemed his old habits hadn't abated and the slender faun would see to it that Liwanu learned his lesson. Slowly, like a stealthy predator, he stood back up and stalked over to his prey, creeping up behind him with the utmost animal grace. His hand then reached out and grabbed Liwanu's tail in a firm, vice-like grip as he slipped up to his husband's side, leaning in to kiss his cheek. The other breeders could not see what his hand was doing as it threatened to tug on the shaman's tail in a painful manner.
"Ah, Maska! How I've missed you~ How goes the daily rounds, hm? Everyone seems to be quite productive today." Pakuna gave Liwanu an eerily happy smile, wondering what his delinquent husband was going to do to wriggle out of this sticky situation. "If you all don't mind, I'd like to have a word in private with my husband. Come, precious. Let's step outside, shall we?"

Liwanu jumped and yelped when he felt something grab his tail and he turned to see what it was. His eyes widened when saw Pakuna looming over him and his ears pinned back against his skull as he realized that he'd just been caught getting cozy with the other breeders. “A-ah, hello yahzi...” His voice trailed off at the look of fury in Pakuna's eyes that belied the sweet tones he spoke with. He shot the other breeders a terrified look, but they only watched with wide, bemused eyes. “Uh, sure, we can talk. See you all later, it was good talking to you.”
They waved him off silently and he felt like a man walking to his death sentence. Liwanu marched ahead of Pakuna, not meeting any of the curious stares that followed the, and tried desperately to think of a way to get out of this one. He had no doubt Pakuna was already planning on how he was going to punish him. By the time they had reached the door, he had only come up with one solution; fleeing. The moment he stepped outside the hide door, he squirmed free of Pakuna's grip and started sprinting through the village towards the woods, yelling back over his shoulder, "Sorry Pakuuuu....!"

"Get back here!!!" Pakuna roared, chasing after Liwanu with fists waving in the air. The snow crunched loudly under his hooves and became caked in his hair as it continued to fall silently. As they got further out into the forest, Pakuna stopped a moment, ducking behind a tree to catch his breath and collect himself. A smirk then graced his lips as he let out a long vapory breath. He knelt down then, gathering up a bunch of snow in his hands and forming into a thickly packed ball.
With lightening reflexes he popped out from behind the tree and used all of his strength to hurl the thick snowball at Liwanu, aiming strategically for the back of his head as he ran.

“Gwah!” Liwanu yelped and stumbled as something cold, hard, and wet collided with the back of his head. His feet slipped in the slippery footing the snow provided and he went down face first, his arms flailing. His breath was punched from his lungs and escaped him in a great wheeze as his chest hit the hard ground and he fell limp. He lay still for several minutes before levering himself up and rolling over with a groan.

"You never were good at dodging my snowballs." Pakuna grinned, stalking calmly over to his fallen mate and straddling him after he rolled over onto his back. He pressed his hands firmly against Liwanu's chest and stared at him hard. "So, see anything you fancied there in the communal hut? How many times do I need to remind you, maska, that none of them will ever compare to me."
Pakuna then reached up to cup Liwanu's face in his hands that were ice cold from making the snowball a moment earlier. He leaned down then, enjoying the silence and strange peace that came as the snowflakes drifted over them. He couldn't help but admire his mate's beautiful face, despite how red it was from being planted in the snow a moment ago. "Do you really think any of them could satisfy you as I do?" He said with a dark purr, leaning down to plant a firm kiss to his lover's lips. Liwanu would not escape, he'd make sure of that.

“It was just...harmless...” Liwanu panted, struggling to catch his breath after it had been so forcefully ejected. He looked up at Pakuna and raised his hands in an appeasing gesture, trying to smile in what he hoped was a charming manner. “You know I never mean anything by it. You're the only...breeder I need...Please...have mercy...”

Pakuna pulled back then, his face going serious for a moment. "You know I don't like when you flirt. And behind my back no less! Makes me wonder what else you do when I am not around." Pakuna huffed, feeling his lips curl into an angry frown. He trusted Liwanu more than anyone, and he was certain his husband would never go so far as to cheat on him. If he ever did, Pakuna knew he'd be devastated, and likely Liwanu would be castrated...
The slender faun then shifted his hips to get comfortable, not planning to let Liwanu go anytime soon. His smile slowly returned as he started to get ideas... Slowly he slid one of his ice cold hands into Liwanu's clothing, finding a nipple to torture. His lover's flesh was so warm it felt wonderful. "Mmm you make a nice hand warmer." He teased as he slid the other hand under his mate's leathers next, teasing his skin with every touch.

“Well, I know you don't like it, that's why I do it behind your back.” Liwanu smirked, teasing his wife. Although it was unlikely he would ever grow out of his flirting, they both knew he would never do anything beyond it. He hissed and squirmed when Pakuna stuck his hands under his shirt; the breeder's fingers were like ice against his skin. “Aaah, Paku! You're freezing!”
He shivered and despite the cold at his back and now under his shirt, his body responded to his wife's close touch. His cock grew hard beneath his buckskin pants and pushed against the leather lacings. Liwanu reached up to retaliate, sliding his own chilled hands around the back of Pakuna's neck.

Pakuna pinched Liwanu's nipples when the faun made his teasing remark. He loved having his husband pinned beneath him and at his mercy. He was about to lean in to claim those soft lips again, feeling how Liwanu's cock started poking him through their clothing, creating a delicious heat between their bodies that helped take away some of the winter chill. Then those icy hands touched his neck and his spine went stiff as a squeak escaped him lips. "Aaahh! Spirits, your hands are colder than mine!!!"
He shivered then, pulling his hands out of Liwanu's shirt to grab his mate's hands and tug them away from his neck. "Now you're going to get it..." Pakuna then shifted around, grinding against Liwanu's crotch with every intention to drive his lover mad with desire. It had been so long since they had had a good romp in the forest like a couple of animals. It was a nice change of scenery from their hut. "We're not going back until I'm done with you." He purred, reaching down between their bodies to grab one of the laces on Liwanu's pants. Deftly he tugged it and the faun's pants came open. Pakuna gave a sly grin then and reached down with his icy hand to grab Liwanu's shaft and give it a good, cold stroke.

Liwanu laughed maniacally at Paku's outcry and tried to wiggle his fingers under the back of the breeders dress before his hands were pulled away. He grinned up at his wife, feeling a little flushed from the struggle. His grin faded a little when the other faun started grinding against him, however, his focus going south as soon as he felt that lithe body rubbing against him. Pakuna's husky promise sent a shiver up his spine and teasing was soon forgotten as his pants were pulled open. He squeaked when cold fingers wrapped around his cock, practically feeling his genitals try to cringe away.
“Spirits Paku! It's not going to be any good to you if you freeze it!” He protested, squirming under his wife's hand. He growled and started yanking up Pakuna's dress around his hips, exposing his nether regions to the chill. He slid a hand down Pakuna's firm rump, feeling goosebumps rising under the trail of his cold fingers until they delved between the breeder's legs, circling his breeding hole.

"I have some place warm you can stick it." Pakuna smirked, then as Liwanu pulled up his skirt and started touching him with those chilly fingers his head fell back and he began to pant. "Ah! Hah... Liwanu! So cold!!" He couldn't help but chuckle a little as his lover gave him back a similar sensation and his breeding hole reflexively tightened as the icy digits circled the sensitive flesh. The breeder was surprised by how turned on he was by their little winter games and he could feel himself getting wetter by the moment.
In the meantime, he wrapped both of his hands around Liwanu's cock and started to pump it hard, creating a friction that helped warm his hands and keep his lover stiff. "Mmm, is that better maska?" He grinned, loving how his mate's cock swelled and grew redder in his hands as he worked.

“Uhhn, Paku...” Liwanu's hand stilled as his attention was drawn to the warming hands pumping his cock. He groaned and his hips thrust up reflexively into Pakuna's touch. He almost forgot he was out in the cold woods lying in a patch of snow. His hands started moving again and he suddenly roughly pulled the dark breeder up, wanting to be buried in his wife before he lost control and spent himself in Pakuna's hands.
“I need to fuck you, Paku. Right now.” He panted and he gripped Pakuna's ass, firmly squeezing the round cheeks. “Spirits, I'm going to lose control if you keep stroking me like that.”

"Nnn, I don't know~ You've been a bad boy today." Pakuna teased, giving Liwanu's cock a hard squeeze as he let his thumb rub the head in circles. He could feel the slippery precome forming in a dewy bead and he enjoyed rubbing it around the sensitive tip. "Maybe if you ask me real nice I'll give it to you~" Despite the breeder's playful teasing he slowed his strokes, wanting Liwanu to last more than a few seconds. He would have his ride, but he had to show his mate who was in control.

“Aaah, Paku...” Liwanu groaned in frustration and he was tempted to just roll them over and take what he wanted. It would almost serve the breeder right to be the one with his back in the snow, but he restrained himself and just gave Pakuna an exasperated smile, deciding to indulge him since he had upset his wife. “Please, Paku...Please, my beautiful, perfect, loving wife. I need you so badly it hurts. Please Paku, have mercy on your poor, stupid husband.”

"Why thank you, darling~" Pakuna grinned, feeling his cheeks redden a bit as Liwanu buttered him up. Even though he knew there was an inner snarkiness to his mate, he loved to be complimented nonetheless. And even more gratifying was hearing his husband beg him for it. "Mmm I love you Liwanu." The breeder then positioned himself over his husband's cock, using his hand to push the tip against his eager hole. Within the winking of an eye Pakuna pushed down on him, engulfing his entire length deeply inside his hot sheath.
"Oooh maska..." He spoke hotly, loving how his mate fit so perfectly inside of him as if the spirits made them for one another. It wasn't long before the faun started to move, rocking his hips hard and fast and riding Liwanu as if he was a stallion. The air around them filled with their heated cries of lust and wet slapping sounds as their bodies merged into one. Pakuna never took his eyes off of his mate, loving the expressions on his face. He relished in seeing the way Liwanu's back arched off the ground and his broad chest rose and fell with each breath. His own breath was ragged and he managed to reach down and stroke his own cock then as he bounced up and down on that thick pole. "Ahh! Oh yesss, fuckkk yess..."

Liwanu moved with his wife, bucking his hips like a wild bronco to meet every thrust. There really would never be anyone who could measure up to Pakuna for him; the breeder cradled him just right, his cock sliding into the soft wet heat of the other's hole like it was just made to be there. He imagined they sounded like a pair of wild beasts rutting in the woods as they grunted, growled and panted. Words failed him in this moment as the entirety of his focus narrowed on Pakuna, watching the way he moved and the way he felt wrapped around him. He reached up and pulled the breeder down to kiss him hard, bruising the plush lips under his own as he pounded his wife's eager hole.
The front of his pants soon grew wet as the breeder's fluids dripped onto him, squishing out with every forceful meeting of their bodies. Liwanu growled deep in his throat, snapping his hips up in an attempt to bury himself as deeply in Pakuna as possible, losing the rhythm and simply thrusting erratically as he drew closer and closer to his climax. His hands gripped Pakuna's backside, pulling him down every time he pushed up and squeezing, no doubt leaving hand shaped bruises behind. His breath caught in his throat as he snapped his hips up one last time and then his seed burst forth from him in a hot rush, filling Pakuna's tight channel.

With every forceful jolt of Liwanu's hips, Pakuna felt the white hot waves of ecstasy travel up his spine and fill him with a warmth only his mate could give him. He could barely hold himself up as the pleasures made every muscle in his body feel weak like wet clay. He melted onto his lover's chest, ravishing his lips with equal force as their teeth clicked together and tongues entwined. The moment he felt his lover's climax, his own body followed along and his muscles clenched Liwanu's cock tightly over and over, milking him for every drop of seed he had to offer. "Ohh! Liwanu! Ahhh yess!!" Pakuna could not hold back his cries as he clung to his husband tightly, falling limply against him as the orgasm rocked his body. "Haah... spirits you are amazing..." He panted, nuzzling Liwanu's neck as he clung to him.

Liwanu could say nothing for several minutes while he caught his breath, hardly able to move under Pakuna. Now that they weren't moving around anymore, the cold came back to bite with a vengeance, especially now that they were sheened with sweat and other things. Liwanu shivered and wrapped his arms tight around Pakuna, holding him close. “Aah, Paku. How you could ever imagine I would want someone else is beyond me. I will never feel anything even close to what we just had with anyone else.” Liwanu smiled and turned his head to press a kiss to Pakuna's dark hair and smiled. “We need to do this more often. As soon as we get back home, it's my turn to be on top.”

"Mmm, you got a deal then... if I can manage to get up." Pakuna grinned lazily, knowing that if they didn't get moving soon they would be buried by the falling snow and turn into fauncicles. He kissed his lover back gently, knowing that Liwanu was true to his word and that he would never betray him for another lover. Their bond ran too deep and there were times he wondered if they had been lovers in a past life.
Slowly Pakuna managed to sit up, pulling off of Liwanu and shivering as the fluids leaked down his legs and became icy cold. "Ah! We definitely need to get home..." He shivered, his jaw began to tremble then and he knew he hit his limit for the outdoors that day. He reached down then to take Liwanu's hands, using all of his strength to help pull his husband up onto his feet. "Let's hurry, I feel the cold now." He chittered, clinging tightly to Liwanu's side and working to brush the snow off of his back.

Liwanu grunted as he was hauled to his feet, his legs wobbling a little with weakness before he steadied. He brushed the snow off and tried to close up his pants a little more while Pakuna helped. When he was as straightened up as he could get, he turned back to his wife and looked down at him, smiling at his disheveled appearance and flushed face. Pakuna truly was beautiful. Grinning, he reached down and scooped the breeder into his arms, carrying him off back to the village towards their hut.

Jaci wandered the village, feeling listless and despondent with Yuma away. As the only faun in the village, he stood out without his exotic appearance and it was the presence of his husband that made him feel like he had a place in the tribe. It was easy to feel proud and like he belonged with Yuma at his side, but he didn't let on to the other villagers of how he was truly feeling. His husband had been away for nearly two months, a sudden blizzard delaying the return of the hunters and his melancholy only grew with each day that passed without him. He tried to give no indication of it, however. By all appearances, it was business as usual; the serene expression on his face remained firmly in place and no one gave him a second look. He returned the greetings that were given to him, but offered none on his own. He had never been a very talkative person. The longest conversations he'd ever had were always with Yuma. He sighed and shook his head; he really needed to get his husband off his mind and think of something else before he depressed himself. He had no reason to be so gloomy, especially with the news he would have to share with Yuma when the centaur returned.
He took a turn and started walking down one of the familiar paths that lead out of the village. The guards tried to waylay him, but he brushed them off. There was nothing they could do short of dragging him back to his tent and he knew they didn't dare lay a hand on him. He kept walking until his sensitive ears picked up the sounds of the river and he followed it west. The river rode the very edge of Sewati lands and that was one allowance he had made to Yuma; he never left their lands. However there wasn't really a need to. The Sewati's tribal lands were quite large and he never ran out of space to roam. The snow hampered his walk a little; it was heavy and thick, nearly to his knees and he wished he'd worn thicker legwarmers. By the time he crested he hill that lead to the clearing he usually passed his time in, he was huffing and out of breath. Luckily the climb down was not as strenuous.
Jaci paused when reached the bottom of the other side and reached behind himself where a water canteen was clipped to his belt and took a drink. He let out a sigh, his breath steaming in the air as he stood there and listened to the stillness of the winter forest, remembering winters past. Yuma had followed him here many times, coming to bring him home and lingering instead, either to make love to the white faun or share in his quiet moments. Jaci moved further into the clearing, finding his favorite rock and seating himself atop it. He wished Yuma would be coming to take him home today. Another sigh escaped him and he closed his eyes, turning his face up to warm in the sun.
“Spirits, bring Yuma home soon.” Jaci prayed softly and he ran a hand over his stomach, which bulged slightly under his grey woven shirt. It was the main reason he wanted his husband home so he could finally tell him what he'd been longing to hear for the three years they had been married. Jaci finally carried his child and, according to the village healer, was nearly four months along. For so long, the faun had thought he had only wanted the child for Yuma's sake, but when the healer had confirmed his hopes, he realized just how important the child was to him. Jaci wanted a baby, for more than just to fulfill his duty to Yuma. He wanted a child to hold and look after, to cherish with Yuma. He knew that this child would also help bridge the gap between them that was there, though neither would admit to it. He smiled and lowered his eyes, feeling that warm sense of hope burgeoning in his chest, growing along with the child he carried.
“I wonder what you'll be? I hope you're like your father.” Jaci whispered and went back to sunning himself. He dozed on the rock, the clear sky and bright sun warming him and the cool air offering a refreshing bite. He drifted in his imaginings of when Yuma returned home and their future offspring. He lay like that for what could have been hours before something snapped him from his dozing and he jerked up. Fear pumped through him; something was wrong. His hand immediately dropped to cover his belly again and he tilted is head this way and that, trying to figure out what was amiss. That was when he felt a sharp stabbing pain rip through his middle.
He gasped and fell off the stone, landing in the snow. He panicked, his hands fluttering over his middle like anxious butterflies, thinking he had been shot with an arrow. He failed to find a shaft and then another sharp pain made him double over and gasp. His heart hammered in chest as pure panic knifed through him when he realized what might be happening. It was confirmed a minute later when he felt something warm and wet gush from between his legs.
“No...no!” He cried softly and clawed at the ground as another bolt of pain went through him. His midsection tightened, his abs becoming like stone as his body forced him to bear down. He gasped and wheezed, weeping and crying out softly in inarticulate whimpers for the spirits and his husband as more fluid poured from between his legs and soaked the ground. He tried to struggle to his feet, calling for help and hoping against hope that the guards had actually followed him from the village. He gritted his teeth and curled up again, his body forcing him to push despite what he wanted. It was then that he felt something a little more solid sliding out and he wept harder.
“No! Please, spirits, no!” He screamed and reached down, his hands struggling to pull back his soaked skirt. It was heavy with his blood, he could smell its sharp metallic tang in the air and he faltered as another cramp paralyzed him. He could feel it leaving him every time it happened, sliding out a little more each time. He yanked on his skirt, ripping it in the futile attempt to reach down and stop it from leaving him.
“No, please, no...” He begged the empty air, sobbing brokenly. “Not our baby, please...Yuma, help me! Someone, please! My baby...Spirits, please not my baby...”

It was a decidedly perfect day to have the hunters go out and search for big game since the snows had fallen, making tracking creatures that much easier. Atreyu was enjoying the sunshine, making his way towards the river as he stalked a deer through the deep snow. It was a brief respite from the usual overcast, grey days that seemed to linger far too long in the winter season. The young chief wore thick leathers and a poncho of fur with dangling raccoon tails hanging down the middle of the back. He held out his bow, carefully weaving in and out of the trees as he followed the tracks and droppings.
His breath came out in plumes of vapor, his nose tinted red from the cold air as his mismatched eyes locked onto the deer he had been following. Slowly and with the utmost precision, he raised his bow and narrowed his aim on his target. The sunlight glinted off the tip of the arrowhead and the deer turned, staring silently back at Atreyu as he prepared to let go of the taut bow. The air was quiet, eerily so with only the occasional sound of wind rustling the barren branches of the trees.
Suddenly a cry rang out into the air and without warning the deer darted off, startled by the sounds. Atreyu gave an exasperated groan, losing his focus and his prey. He then lowered his weapon and looked around, his ears swiveling to and fro as he tried to pinpoint the source of the sound. It was faint, and not that of an animal running through the woods. Cautiously he stalked closer towards it and finally realized it was a voice calling for help. "Oh no, that can't be good..." He muttered to himself as he strung his bow over his shoulder and tucked his arrow back into his quiver before setting off through the deep snow to aid whoever was in need. "Keep calling! I am on my way to help!" He yelled out into the air, hoping whoever was out there could hear him.
As he came out of the clearing he spied a large rock near the river. He knew he had finally crossed over into Sewati lands, but he could not ignore a cry for help whether it was a member of Sewati or his own tribe. With great haste he moved closer until a mess of red caught his eyes. He froze in place then, unable to grasp what he was taking in as his jaw fell limp and his eyes went wide. His breath caught in his throat when he realized it was Jaci, covered in gore and rolling around in agony. "Oh spirits... no! Jaci!!"
The young chief then threw off his weapons to lighten his load and made his way to the pale faun's side, kneeling down to him and reaching out to steady the faun. He was terrified in that moment, not knowing what to do. His hands trembled so much he feared he wouldn't even be able to tie a proper tourniquet to stop the flow of blood. The sight alone made his stomach turn and the smell assaulted his nose. "What happened?? What do I do? I-I don't know what to do!" He said in a shaky tone, feeling panic set in as he tried to find the source of the blood. He looked the faun over and noticed blood coming out from in between his legs. Quickly he reached out then and grabbed the torn fabric of Jaci's skirt, pulling it aside to have a look. He knew it was likely an offensive thing to do, but given the situation he had no choice.
What he saw laying in the snow made his heart nearly stop in his chest. There lay an underdeveloped infant, covered in gore and unmoving. "Oh no, oh spirits... You were pregnant? Where is Yuma? Why are you out here alone? Uh... uh-um, how can I stop the bleeding? So much b-blood..." He said through a choked voice, knowing he was likely babbling to himself as he frantically tried to think of what to do. This was no little cut or simple wound to patch up, and he knew he was completely out of his element. He also knew it would be a bad idea to try and move Jaci in his delicate state, so there was no way he could bring him back to his village.
"H-here, you need to stay warm." He said with a trembling voice as he took off his fur poncho and wrapped it around Jaci, holding the breeder up and trying to keep him as still as possible. "Everything will be okay, just stay with me..." He reached up to stroke Jaci's cheek, his own eyes brimming with tears to have found the one faun that he could never get out of his mind in such a frightening mess. He hoped his words could help calm him down, though the fear that Jaci would die in his arms loomed over him like a dark cloud. He looked around the glistening snow, looking to see if there were tracks indicating a struggle. He had to rule out the possibility that someone or something harmed Jaci, and it appeared there was only one set of tracks. There were many questions Atreyu had, but his biggest concern was the fragile breeder in his arms. "Jaci... just stay still. I won't leave you..." He sniffed, trying to comfort the faun in his arms however he could. He knew Jaci had no idea who he was or how he knew his name, but none of that mattered.

Jaci was vaguely aware of a presence surrounding him and the first thought in his hazy and panicked mind was that somehow Yuma had found him, but whoever was holding him was far too small to be his husband. His questions were pushed to the back of his mind as he was still wracked with sharp cramps, pain crushing him like tight bands of steel around his middle. A wave of nausea suddenly overtook him and he wrenched his head to the side to wretch into the bloody snow. Every time his stomach heaved, more blood seem to flow out of him. Soon he was dry-heaving and somehow paler than before. He trembled violently and a cold film of sweat covered his skin. Black spots swam in his vision and he felt dizzy and light-headed.
The pale faun was silent for several minutes, save for the sounds of his labored breathing. With his stomach still cramping and the taste of bile in his mouth, Jaci felt sure he was about to die. At this moment, it seemed preferable to perish, now that he had lost his first and quite possibly the only child he would ever have. His head drooped onto Atreyu's chest and he wondered again who it was that had found him. It was not a centaur, so it was not one from his tribe.
“Whoever you are...if I should die, please return my body to the Sewati tribe.” He spoke in a raw, husky voice. “My husband is the chief, Yuma. Please...don't tell him what happened. I don't want him to know I killed our child.”
Jaci's eyes slid shut and he drew in another shuddering breath. Lassitude invaded his limbs and the blackness at the edge of his vision encroached further. He sighed and went limp, falling into the blessed arms of oblivion.

Atreyu could not think of a time in his life where he felt as afraid as he did in that moment. The faun in his arms, the one he desired more than all others, was on the verge of possible death and he knew he had to make a decision soon on what to do. As Jaci turned his head to vomit, the young chief pet his soft hair gently, knowing it was not much to ease his pain. The sounds, sights and smells of blood mixing with vomit nearly caused him to wretch too, but he forced the urge away with sheer will, not wanting to make the situation any worse. "It'll be alright, just let it out..." He said gently, waiting for the faun to finish. He couldn't hold back the tears that threatened to spill from his eyes, though he did not make the slightest sound of sobbing.
He was afraid to jostle Jaci at all for fear the pale faun would give out and die right then and there. He watched as Jaci breathed hard and when the faun finally spoke, Atreyu listened attentively. "You won't die, I will return you to Chief Yuma alive. And you did not kill your child! Don't say such an awful thing!" Atreyu refused to believe Jaci made such a gruesome and awful thing happen, he was certain the faun was feeling guilt for having a miscarriage. "It's not your fault... These things happen with faun. Having children is difficult for our kind." He said gently, watching as Jaci faded from consciousness in his arms. "Please don't die on me, please..." He sniffed, pulling the faun tighter into his arms and fighting his urge to sob. "Don't leave before I get to know you..."
The next minute that passed felt like a small eternity, and Atreyu pressed his ear to Jaci's chest. He could hear a faint heartbeat and it gave him hope that the faun would live, but he knew he had to get Jaci help. He reached down, picking up the dead baby in his hand from the snow between Jaci's legs. It was surreal to see a life torn from the world so soon before it even had a chance, but he did not want to leave it behind. He was certain Jaci and Yuma would want to have a funeral for their child and bury him properly. Carefully he tucked the stiff infant away in his outer leather coat then wrapped his arms around Jaci once more.
Carefully he picked the faun up in his arms, using every ounce of strength he had to carry him slowly and with the utmost care through the woods. He knew that Niabi was closer by then Sewati, so the decision was not difficult on where he'd bring Jaci. The young chief then left the gruesome scene behind along with his weapons as he plodded carefully through the snow.

Several of the hunters had returned, a few baring some small kills and one buck. Pakuna was among the group, and the breeder wondered where Atreyu was and why he had not returned yet. He began to worry about his second partner, but kept busy skinning the rabbits he caught and preparing the meat for their dinner that evening. It wasn't until a voice rang out in the air that the dark faun was alerted to Atreyu's return.
"Chief Atreyu is back with a body!" One of the village breeders cried out, sounding worried and confused.
"There is a lot of blood! Someone is hurt!" Another voice spoke and a few villagers gathered around, noticing the chief too was covered in blood.
Pakuna dropped what he was doing and quickly ran out to see what everyone was talking about. His bright blue eyes went wide with shock as he ran over to Atreyu and the unknown faun in his arms. "Atreyu! Spirits, what happened? Is he dead?"
"Pakuna! P-please get Liwanu!" Atreyu said quickly, panting and barely able to speak. His cheeks were streaked with his tears and it wasn't long before Pakuna realized who was in Atreyu's arms. Liwanu had told him about his lusts for the white faun that was wed to the Sewati chief.
"Come! Bring him to the medicine hut! I'll get Liwanu!" Pakuna didn't waste a moment more as he ran to get his husband. He knew Atreyu would have a lot of explaining to do, but for now it appeared the pale faun in his arms needed urgent attention.

Liwanu had been in the communal breeder hut again when Pakuna fetched, teaching children instead of flirting this time. He looked a little shocked when his mate explained what had happened, but he recovered his composure quickly and headed off to the medicine hut where Atreyu was waiting with Jaci. A few of his apprentices had been there when the chief arrived and were already tending to the white faun. Jaci was laid out on one of the mats on the floor and an apprentice was stripping off his soiled clothing and cleaning him up.
“What happened?” Liwanu asked as he went to join his apprentice. The shaman paused, struck for a moment at the sight of the white faun. Atreyu's description had not done him justice. He did a quick examination of the pale faun; his pulse was there, but slow and his skin was alarmingly cool. It was obvious that Jaci had lost a dangerous amount of blood and he directed his other apprentice to go and make a tonic for him.

Atreyu knelt by Jaci's side as the apprentice healers helped the faun. As Liwanu came in he couldn't help but feel a small bit of relief. He trusted his wicasa and hoped he would know what to do. "I was out hunting and I heard a cry for help. When I got to him he was on the ground covered in blood and..." Atreyu then lifted away his overcoat, carefully pulling out the deceased infant and holding it out for his mate to see. "This was his baby with Chief Yuma... He miscarried. I kept the body because I am sure they will want a proper funeral. C-can someone get me some cloth so I can wrap it up? It's hard to look at this."
His hands trembled as one of the breeders came over to him and helped him wrap the undeveloped infant in a piece of spun fabric. Atreyu then laid it down beside Jaci, still shaken up by what had happened. "Is he going to live?" The young chief asked his wicasa with a bit of uncertainty in his voice.

Liwanu grimaced a little at the gruesome thing and shook his head. “No promises. I'll do what I can, but he's very weak. Get out of here, Atreyu. I need to work and you'll just get in the way. Go back home and clean yourself up, you're filthy. I'll let you know when I'm done.” He made a dismissive gesture with his hand. “Anyone who isn't a healer, get out. I need space.”

Atreyu listened to Liwanu, silently getting up and leaving the medicine hut as he was told. Pakuna followed him out, wanting to stay by his side and make sure the boy would be okay. He couldn't imagine what Atreyu must have been feeling in that moment.
"Come on, I'll draw you a hot bath and help you clean up." The breeder spoke gently, reaching out to pat Atreyu's shoulder as they walked slowly back to their hut. Atreyu nodded, still in a solemn mood, but he was grateful for Pakuna's kindness nonetheless.
~~~
The sun had set early and the evening had wore on. Atreyu sat by the fire slowly eating a bowl of rabbit stew with Pakuna and Kuruk beside him. They both waited anxiously for word from Liwanu on Jaci's precarious condition.
"I hope that he'll be alright. If not, I don't want to think about what Chief Yuma is going to think." Pakuna sighed, patting Kuruk's back gently as the baby suckled on one of his nipples. "The relations between our tribes is already bad enough as-is."
Atreyu shook his head then. "If anything happens, all we can say to him is that we tried our best to save him... I am sure he will be irate though. He definitely does not like me or trust me. We should pray for the best, I don't want to bring back two bodies to the Sewati tribe."
Liwanu looked grim when he finally returned home in a somber air. He silently took a seat next to his wife and stared into the fire for a few moments before he spoke. “He's still unconscious. I did everything I was able to for him, but he had lost a lot of blood. We'll just have to wait and see if he wakes.” The shaman sighed and passed a hand over his face. “One of my apprentices is going to look after him through the night, just in case anything happens. I rather doubt it will, though.”
Atreyu looked up at Liwanu anxiously as his wicasa entered, though the look on his mate's face made his ears fall and his stomach sink. As the faun spoke, Atreyu couldn't help but feel a mixture of disappointment and relief. Jaci was still unconscious and possibly in danger of dying, but for the time being he was still alive and being watched over. "Thank you wicasa for your help... I hope Jaci pulls through this." The young chief then got up and plopped down on the other side of Liwanu and reached out to hug him. "I'm grateful to you, no matter the outcome." He said gently, wanting to comfort the other faun and show him some much needed affection to ease him from his harrowing day.
Pakuna couldn't help but smile lightly at Atreyu's little display of affection for Liwanu. He was glad to see the young faun was growing closer to his shaman. He scooted closer then to Liwanu's other side with Kuruk in tow, resting his head against Liwanu's shoulder. "You've had a hard day maska, you should have some of this stew I made. I promise I didn't burn the rabbit." He then kissed Liwanu's shoulder and reached out to grab his mate's bowl, ladling in the steaming meal and handing it to him with a large wooden spoon.
~~~
Meanwhile, many among the Sewati tribe were restless and a few of the centaurs paced about the village keeping their eyes out for Jaci's return. As the sun began to set and the pale faun remained gone, Elder Taima grew greatly concerned. He knew how much his son loved his wife, and the thought of something happening to Jaci was unnerving. Despite the faun's disabilities, he had a responsibility to bare Chief Yuma's heirs and continue their lineage. It did not bode well that the faun was out alone in the woods after sunset.
A cold, blustery wind whipped Taima's grey hair about his face and his thick brows began to furrow in worry. A snowstorm was coming and the pristine white flakes began to fall, soon covering everything. The Elder knew it would not be safe for Jaci to be out in such weather and it would inevitably cover the faun's tracks, making him hard to locate in case of an emergency. He quickly spoke up, catching the attention of all around him. "I want a group of you to go out now and follow Jaci's tracks before the coming snow buries them. I do not know why he is so late to return. Something might be wrong, so please find him and bring him back safe. This is no kind of weather for a breeder to be out in and I do not trust the woods after dark."
"I will go!" One of the younger breeders volunteered, followed by five others. They all bundled up in their warmest furs, ready to brave the chilling winds and needle-like snow that blew harshly in their faces from the coming blizzard. The group then made haste, following the hoof-shaped indents in the snow that they knew were Jaci's.
~~~
The group finally came upon the boulder near the river and the breeder in the lead held out his arm, stopping the others in their tracks as his eyes widened in horror. "W-what is this? There is blood all over the snow! Jaci??! Jaci?? Where are you?!" Frantically the group of six looked around for the white faun. There didn't seem to be tracks from any bears or wolves, so the strange scene of carnage had them all perplexed until one of them came across Atreyu's bow and arrows.
"Look here!! This is a Niabi bow! There are more tracks going in the direction of their village and there's more blood..." One of the centaurs spoke up as he picked up the weapon and examined it along with the tracks around them. "Do you think a Niabi hunter murdered Jaci? Perhaps there was a struggle here and he lost his weapon then carried his body away... Hurry, follow these tracks, we must find Jaci!" He said with a tremble in his voice as his hand clutched the bow tightly, making his knuckles turn white from the tension.
The centaurs galloped through the deep snow in a hurry to reach Niabi village and find out what had happened to their Chief's wife. It wasn't long before they were at the village perimeter, screaming for the faun people there to come forth with Jaci.
"What have you done to Chief Yuma's wife?! Where is Jaci?! We demand answers!" The strongest in the group yelled, startling many of the fauns from their warm huts as well as the guards that kept watch around the village. The flamed torches flickered in the strong winds and panic began to stir at the sight of the irate centaurs.
"Chief Atreyu! Sewati tribesman are here seeking that faun in the medical hut!" One of the hunters called outside of the Chief's hut, hoping the faun would quickly quell the Sewati centaur's rage before they started a war with their people. Several guards surrounded the centaurs with spears in hand, not wanting to take any chances with their larger, equine brethren.
"Hold your places!" One of the Niabi guardsmen yelled as the centaurs bore their bows and arrows, aiming them straight for the hearts of the fauns that held them back.
Atreyu heard the commotion and scrambled to his hooves, quickly grabbing a thick fur shawl to cover himself as he stepped outside his hut into the fray. He had a bad feeling that Sewati tribesman would arrive seeking out Jaci, but their rage surprised him and he spotted one of them holding his bow and arrows that he had dropped earlier that day. He could only imagine what they must have thought when they saw the snow that was saturated in blood. "All of you lower your weapons!" He commanded, marching bravely up to the centaurs and pushing past his own guards. "I have the one you seek here in my village. Please lower your arrows and come into the communal hut where it is warm. I will explain there what has happened. Please, let us stay civil!"
Pakuna couldn't help but get up and peek out the thick hide doorway of the hut, watching the scene unfold. His ears fell and he turned back to look at Liwanu. "The angry cavalry has arrived dear, perhaps you should go out there and help Atreyu calm them down... They have no idea what's going on."
Liwanu suppressed a sigh and slumped a little in his seat. He had been expecting something like this, but had hoped it would happen in the morning after he'd had some rest. Tending to the faun had drained him, but he pushed himself to his feet like a good tribal leader and shuffled out to go support his mate after grabbing a cloak to wrap around his shoulders. He saw the group that confronted them seemed to all be breeders; that was a small mercy. He knew how to deal with breeders.
“Please, everyone calm down.” He spoke in an authoritative voice, raising his hands in an appeasing gesture. “I'm the shaman of this tribe. We have the one you're looking for, but he's been through a terrible ordeal and is resting now. He should not be disturbed. If you'll follow me, we can have this conversation somewhere warm. Allow us to show you some hospitality after all we have put you through. I will explain everything.”
Liwanu bowed his head respectfully, then turned to lead the group away to the communal hut the breeders used. He caught a few villagers that had been loitering around to watch the ruckus and directed them to fetch food and drink for their guests as well as stoke up the fires. Soon there was a fire blazing in the center of the hut and a pot of tea boiling. Soft corn cakes and barley bread with honey were offered and Liwanu took his place at Atreyu's side before addressing the group.
“My sani found your chief's wife in the forest while he was out hunting. He heard cries of distress and went to investigate. Jaci was bleeding out when he found him, in the middle of a miscarriage. Your village was too far and Jaci needed help right away, so Atreyu brought him here so that I could attend him.” Liwanu sighed, looking older as he talked, clutching the cloak close around his shoulders. “I did everything I could for him, but he had lost a lot of blood by the time he got to me. Your chief's wife is resting now with one of my apprentices attending him. Whether he lives or dies is up to the Spirits now, but I kindly ask you to leave him in our care for the time being. He is took weak to be moved. If you like, you may all stay here to watch over him until he wakes, we will make accommodations for you. You are all welcome in our village.”
Atreyu was grateful for Liwanu explaining the situation. He could see the centaur breeder's anger turning into sadness and anxiety, worry marring their faces as they whispered amongst each other, trying to decide what to do. "I only want peace between our peoples and we all wish the best for Chief Yuma's wife. I am curious though, where is Chief Yuma himself? Is he not wondering where his wife is?" The young chief asked them, curious as to why the stoic centaur wasn't the first one there to rage over his missing lover. He wondered if perhaps the demon didn't care as much about the faun as he previously thought...
"Our chief has been away on the hunt for the past few weeks, as is tradition for our tribe. Every year during autumn our chief goes out with our strongest hunters to bring back big game so we are supplied with plenty of meat and furs to last the winter. He has no idea Jaci is in any sort of trouble... This is terrible, the poor dear didn't deserve this." One of the breeders said, taking a bite of his corn cake.
The centaur beside him then looked up at Liwanu and Atreyu, holding a hot cup of tea to keep his hands warm. "I must apologize for how we acted earlier. We had suspected someone from your tribe harmed Jaci, and that clearly is not the case. It is a surprise, however, to hear that Jaci miscarried. No one in the village knew he was even pregnant..." The breeder then lifted his cup to take a sip of the hot beverage, letting it warm him to the core. He was glad the Niabi peoples seemed to be very hospitable and caring in such a difficult situation. It helped ease some of his anxieties about their tribe.
Another one of the centaur group then spoke up. "Although they have been married for three years now, Jaci has never bore Chief Yuma any heirs. Many of us can't help but wonder if he is even capable of having children. This will probably be devastating news for the Chief when he returns. And if Jaci doesn't survive this, I don't even want to know how Chief Yuma will react..." He shook his head then, his mouth turning into a frown as he mulled over the possibility.
"Two of us will stay here with Jaci until he recovers. We must think positively and pray hard to the Spirits for his healing. I will stay with Nan'uk, the rest of you should return back home tonight and let Elder Taima and the others know what is happening here." The eldest of the breeders, known as Chandi, spoke up and the others nodded in agreement with his decision. Despite the bad weather, they knew it was important they return with the news. "And I thank you kindly for your hospitality and food. This is looking to be a very bad snowstorm and it will make travel between our villages difficult. Jaci may have to stay here for a while, so it is best Nan'uk and I keep him company. We will do whatever we can to help, Shaman."
"Moop!" A little voice carried through the air then and Pakuna looked down at Kuruk in his arms. He had been sitting beside Liwanu and Atreyu, listening in to the entire conversation intently until his little bear distracted him. The baby stretched out his pudgy arm, pointing a tiny digit at Chandi before giggling and making more funny sounds.
"What are you doing, silly? I don't believe Kuruk has ever seen a centaur before. I think he likes you." Pakuna grinned, grateful his baby could help lighten the mood.
"He is a cute little thing." Chandi said fondly, remembering his first child when he was small. "May I hold him?"
Pakuna was a bit surprised by the centaur's interest in his baby, but trusted Chandi well enough. He got up then and passed his chubby child over, letting the centaur cradle the giggling baby in his arms. Kuruk's eyes lit up and he tugged on Chandi's long, black hair with delight. Everyone around began to giggle and feel a sense of relief, at least for the moment.
“As you wish, but I think all of you should stay the night. There's quite a blizzard going on outside.” Liwanu smiled, looking over at his son. After what he had seen today, he was all the more grateful to have him and a wife that was as strong as Pakuna. “Well, I've said my piece. If you will all excuse me, I have had a very tiring day and I need to sleep. I'll leave you in my sani's hands.”
With that, the shaman rose up and shuffled off, reaching out and squeezing Pakuna's shoulder as he passed. There was a blast of cold wind from outside as he opened the door and headed out into the storm for home.
Chandi had accepted Liwanu's offer, knowing it would be best for him and his people to wait out the storm and travel during daylight hours. The evening wore on and Atreyu found that the centaurs were pleasant company despite the stressful circumstances in which they had met. He often wondered why their tribes weren't closer in their relations since their ways of life and their beliefs were fairly similar. He could not understand why Chief Yuma was so fiercely territorial and why their villages couldn't at least conduct trade of some sort. He did not want to be forbidden from seeing Jaci either, and as the next day came he found himself trudging through the snow that was nearly waist deep to get to the medical hut.
Many of the villagers worked using sturdy baskets and hard tortoise shells as shovels to try and clear the grounds of the thick snow and make travel easier, while others opted to stay inside their warm huts and sleep in. The smoke from their fires formed dark plumes in the air among the pale, grey sky. Atreyu shivered a bit and shook out his hooves, letting the clumps of snow fall from his fur leg warmers before entering the medicine hut with haste, closing the buckskin flap quickly to avoid much cold air from entering. He then shed his thick fur poncho and made his way to Jaci's side, hoping the faun's condition had improved.
Chandi and Nan'uk watched over the still form of the pale faun, also hoping to see some progress. The elder breeder looked up at Atreyu as he knelt beside Jaci's bed, not missing the deep concern in his eyes.
"Jaci was lucky that you were out there to hear his cries for help... He likes to go for walks and wander, but he usually always returns. We waited anxiously for him to come home and when it grew dark we were afraid for the worst. We are grateful to you, Chief Atreyu. You and your Shaman have done all you could and no matter what happens, I will make sure Chief Yuma knows of your kindness and selfless acts to try and save one of our own."
Atreyu nodded lightly to the centaur, not feeling nearly as helpful as he made him sound. He felt helpless, knowing there was truly nothing he could do for Jaci except pray to the spirits. "Thank you... Oh and I came to tell you both that Pakuna and a few others have prepared lunch for you both in the communal hut. I came to relieve you two for a bit, I'll watch over Jaci."
Chandi looked to Nan'uk then and back to Atreyu with a firm nod as he stood up, towering over the faun. "Very well, if anything changes please let us know immediately." He then trotted out of the hut with his partner in tow, leaving Atreyu and Jaci alone.
The young chief looked over the pale faun then, studying his face. He couldn't help but feel drawn to Jaci and without thinking he reached out to lightly caress his cheek. His skin was warm, much to Atreyu's relief. He then leaned in a little closer, listening to his steady breathing. It was as if the faun was merely asleep.
"I'm sorry this had to happen to you..." He said gently, running his fingers through Jaci's soft hair and tucking a strand of it behind one of his ears. "I don't know if you can even hear me, but I hope you pull through this. I know we don't know each other but if... if you ever need a friend, know that you are welcome here among my people." He then smiled and shook his head, sitting back a bit and letting his hand rest on top of the fur blanket that was draped over the pale faun. "If Yuma ever lets you come here that is..."
“Yuma...” Jaci whispered, shifting under the heavy layer of furs with a groan. He had been in the midst of a fever since Atreyu had brought him in and even now his skin was flushed and a thin layer of sweat covered him. He blinked and opened his eyes to stare blankly at nothing for several moments before he groaned and closed his eyes again. A dull ache throbbed like a second heart in the deepest part of him, it seemed and his mouth felt drier than sand. He swallowed several times, trying to moisten his chapped lips. “Water, please...”
Atreyu's heart began to speed up as he heard Jaci's weak voice break the silence around them and watched his milky colored eyes open. He reached out then to gently feel Jaci's forehead, seeing the light layer of sweat on his skin. There was a water basin nearby with a piece of cloth in it and the young chief reached for it, wringing it out a bit before draping it across Jaci's forehead. As the pale faun then asked for water he quickly got up to get fresh, cool water for him, pouring it into a carved wooden cup then going back to Jaci's side. He slid his hand under Jaci's head gently and lifted it, placing the cup to his lips. "Drink slowly..." Atreyu spoke softly, hoping Jaci could keep it down. "I'm so glad you're finally awake..."
Jaci took the water gratefully, sipping carefully to keep himself from trying to swallow it all down at once. When he was done he fell back on the soft woven pillows with a sigh. He reached up and weakly pulled the cloth off of his forehead, tossing it aside. It seemed to do nothing but make his head ache more. “Where am I? I'm not in Sewati.” He spoke. The sounds and scents were far different from those he was used to hearing in his own tribe. He knew he was in a healer's hut; the smell of medicinal herbs and potions was thick in the air. “Who are you? What happened?”
Re: Hell (eiji)
Atreyu was grateful that Jaci was able to drink and seemed to become more aware of his surroundings. He frowned then as the faun asked what had happened, not wanting to shock him so soon after he had woken up in case he forgot the traumatic event. "You're in Niabi village. I am Chief Atreyu, the one who found you in the forest and brought you here. I could not bring you back to Sewati, you lost too much blood, but my wicasa and his apprentices all worked hard to save you. I'm so glad you're alive." He sighed, reaching out to grab the discarded cloth and toss it back in the water basin.
Atreyu lowered his eyes then, folding his hands in his lap as he thought about what to say next. "Some people from your tribe are also here to look after you and bring you back home when you're better. There was a big snowstorm so you may have to stay here for a while anyway. If there is anything you need, anything at all, please let me know."
Jaci closed his eyes and was silent for a long time. It almost appeared that he had fallen back asleep until he spoke again. “Does Yuma know I'm here? Has he returned from the hunt?” His voice was almost a whisper, nearly lost in the howl of the wind against the sides of the hut. He coughed and shifted under the heavy cover of furs again, his milky eyes opening again. “Do my people know...what happened?”
Atreyu watched the faun go silent for a long moment and he began to worry that Jaci was fading out again until he heard his soft voice once more. His shoulders slumped slightly in relief, glad to keep the pale breeder awake. "Six breeders came looking for you. Two of them stayed, the others returned this morning to inform the rest of your tribe about what has happened. They know about the baby you lost. I'm so sorry." He paused, wishing he could say something to be of more comfort to the pale faun. "Yuma has not returned yet, so he doesn't know about this. There is no doubt that Chandi, Nan'uk, and the others will tell him though. I know you wanted it kept a secret, you told me in the woods never to tell him about what happened... This was out of my hands though. We did the best we could to save you and you're still alive, thank the spirits."
“So Yuma will know.” Jaci murmured. He closed his eyes again, feeling a strange sensation of cold wash over him and then settle in the pit of his stomach like a stone. He wanted to weep and scream, but the tears would not come. Instead, he felt a sense of detachment from his body. As if he was floating, an observer to the horror of what had happened. “Thank you for all that you have done. If you do not mind, I would like to speak with my people. Please.”
"I'm afraid so. I'm really sorry..." Atreyu replied, sensing how upset that bit of information was to Jaci. He remembered how the faun told him he was responsible for their child's death, and as horrible as it was, Atreyu knew there was no point in arguing with Jaci over that flawed notion. Miscarriages were common-place among faun, but it did not make breeders guilty of murder. He wondered if such flawed ideas were implanted in Jaci's mind from the people of his tribe. Was it such a dishonor to have lost a child?
As the faun requested to see his own people, Atreyu gently placed his hand over Jaci's briefly before standing up to leave the hut and fetch Chandi and Nan'uk.
The centaurs were in the gathering hut, both enjoying a hot meal together when Atreyu approached them. "He is awake. He's still weak and has a fever, but he's able to speak and he wants to see you both... And, is there any possible way to make sure Yuma does not find out about his miscarriage? He seems very upset that everyone knows. I think he feels guilty and ashamed about it."
Chandi sighed and shook his head as he set down his food and stood up. "This is good that he is awake, I was worried he wouldn't pull through. As for keeping this all a secret from Chief Yuma, I am not sure... I suppose we can arrange it if Jaci is really insistent. We respect his wishes no matter the reason. Come Nan'uk, let's hurry and check on him."
Atreyu watched then as the two breeders headed off to the medicine tent. He sighed deeply and watched until they both disappeared behind the hide doorway. Somehow he couldn't help but wish Jaci was his wife... Then the faun would never need to feel such guilt, no matter what. He would love him and support him through every trial and be there for him, unlike Yuma. Every time he thought of Yuma it left a bad feeling in his gut. He wondered if the centaur chief would be irate to discover he lost a child. His thoughts continually darkened then as he decided to head back to his hut, hoping someone from his little family was there to help take his mind off of his resentments towards a Chief he barely knew.
"Jaci! We're so glad you're awake. Thank the spirits, they are truly good to us! Chief Atreyu told us you wish to speak with us. Please, tell us what you need. We will do whatever we can for you." The elder breeder spoke gently, laying down beside the faun as Nan'uk followed at his side. "We are here for you."
Jaci pushed himself up into a sitting position, stilling for a moment as the motion caused a wave of dizziness to wash over him. He gritted his teeth and bore it until it had subsided enough to be tolerable. Then he opened his eyes and turned his blind gaze to the centaur. “Yuma has not come home yet, has he? He would have come to fetch me if he had...” He murmured. “How bad is the weather outside? Can we return home? I'm not sure I would be able to walk, so I will need your help...”
The pale faun paused and sighed, feeling that strange cold lump in the pit of his stomach again. “I don't want him to know what happened, please. For three years, I tried so hard to bear him a child and now...” He bowed his head, his words choked off momentarily by grief. “He would be so disappointed and I couldn't bear to cause him more grief. I know I'm already a burden to him as I am.”
Liwanu was the only one in the tent when Atreyu arrived, his wife in the communal tent with the rest of the breeders to help out in the work and watching the children, as well as to give Kuruk time to spend with the other babies. The older faun had built up the fire in the middle and pinned up the door to the room he shared with Atreyu to allow the heat in while he lazed about naked in the furs. He had still felt a little worn after the stress of the situation with Jaci and Pakuna had allowed him to remain home and rest.
“Oh, you're home earlier than I expected.” Liwanu had looked up when he felt the draft of cold caused by his young mate's entrance. He flopped his head back down and snuggled back into the furs with a sigh. “How's Jaci?”
"No, Chief Yuma is still off on the hunt last I knew. The weather is likely slowing down their progress." Nan'uk replied, reaching out to gently touch Jaci's shoulder and make sure the faun was steady as he sat up. "We will likely have to stay here for a few more days. There was a very bad blizzard and it would make travel difficult. The snow is as tall as our legs. I will carry you home when the time comes that we can leave safely. In the meantime, you need to rest and get better, have a hot meal, and just try to relax. It has been tense around here, no one knew if you'd pull through this or not..."
Chandi looked at the pale faun and his throat tightened slightly as Jaci poured out his anxieties. It was exactly as Chief Atreyu had said; the faun was guilt-ridden and ashamed to have lost Yuma's child. "I will go back to Sewati then and tell the others that this incident is not to be mentioned to Chief Yuma. You can count on me Jaci. And know that you are not a burden! Chief Yuma loves you, I see the way he looks at you whenever he has to leave for the hunt. He doesn't look at anyone else with those eyes, child, trust me."
Chandi then got up and looked over to Nan'uk. "You stay here with Jaci and when he is ready, bring him home. I am going to set off now while it's still daylight. Hopefully the Chief has not yet returned so I can have our villagers take a vow of silence on Jaci's behalf." The elder breeder then turned back to Jaci. "Stay strong, Jaci. Someday you will bear Yuma a healthy child, I know you will." He said with a gentle smile, hoping his words could be of some comfort to the pale faun. After that, he turned to leave and head back to Sewati village, willing to brave the deep snow in order to keep his promise to Jaci.
Atreyu threw off his thick winter poncho and started to undo the fur leg warmers he had on, brushing the snow off of them and hanging them up to be dried by the fire. "Ah it's so cozy in here." Atreyu spoke aloud to himself as he looked up and saw Liwanu sprawled out on the furs completely nude. The young chief was starting to get used to such things. As time went on, he was more at ease around Liwanu and Pakuna, whether they were nude or making love in the room next to his. Living in such an intimate setting left no room for privacy, and there had even been the odd occasion where Liwanu or Pakuna had stumbled in on Atreyu's personal sessions with his hand. As embarrassing as it was, even that was no longer so shocking.
Soon Atreyu was stripped down to his flimsy loincloth and he made his way over to Liwanu, plopping down beside him on the warm furs and laying on his side so he could speak with his mate. "Jaci finally woke up. He seems to be okay aside from running a mild fever, but those centaurs are tending to him right now. He's very depressed about losing his child... He seems to be worried about Chief Yuma finding out. It's such a sad situation. I wish Jaci was one of ours..." He sighed, moving in closer to Liwanu to cuddle up against him. That was one thing the young faun was most comfortable doing, he loved to cuddle and be close to his mate even if they hadn't shared any true physical intimacy since their wedding night and the night he and Pakuna bonded.
"How are you holding up?" Atreyu asked gently, looking up at the older faun and hoping he could feel at ease knowing Jaci was going to be okay. "I see Paku gave you the day off. You definitely deserve a break." Atreyu grinned then, leaning up to give Liwanu a gentle kiss on the cheek.
“Thank you.” Jaci sighed, feeling a little of the tension drain out of him. At least Yuma would never know what happened and he would not have to hear the disappointment in his voice yet again when their hopes were dashed for children. He fell back against the furs again, feeling incredibly weary and he just wanted to sink into the safe oblivion of sleep once again.
“I do deserve a break. I work harder than anyone else in the village.” Liwanu huffed, but the smile on his face made it hard to take him seriously. He was happy to curl up with Atreyu and share warmth under the furs. Since his promise to be a better mate, he had made a genuine effort to getting along with the young chief as he should. He even spent several his nights sleeping with the younger faun in their shared room and they had grown much more comfortable around each other. Perhaps too comfortable, given what he had caught Atreyu doing on more than one occasion. “I'm glad to hear Jaci's doing better and it will be good for him to be around his own people.”
Liwanu sighed and rolled onto his side to face Atreyu, reaching out and giving the boy a comforting pat on the arm. “It's only natural that he would be depressed. It's always sad to lose your child before it's time. Especially if it was a child you really wanted and I think that was the case for Jaci. When I was tending him, he kept calling out for his husband. Sorry sani, but it looks like he really does love Yuma.” Liwanu gave him a sad look and shook his head. “No one who disliked their husband would wish for his presence so fervently.”
Re: Hell (eiji)
Atreyu's expression fell as Liwanu turned and honestly told him the truth of the situation. He wished it could have been different, but it was what it was and Jaci was Yuma's wife, so he supposed he should be happy that the faun loved his husband. It was only proper. "I am glad then... It would be sad if he was in a loveless marriage. I just have to accept he will never be mine." Atreyu sighed, looking up into Liwanu's deep brown eyes. "I shouldn't be pining over someone I can never have though, because I have you and Paku." The young chief's smile slowly returned and he stared at Liwanu's face for a moment, taking it in and truly focusing on it. His mate was quite handsome, and he loved the little bit of white fur in his black ears, and the way the faun smiled and always had a playful air about him.
Atreyu began to realize how much he actually had grown to care for Liwanu. His mate was quite attractive and he started to wonder why they both never tried again to mate. The first time was awkward and he knew he blew it, but he still wished he could make it up to Liwanu somehow. "Wicasa..." He said softly, a thoughtful look on his face. "Since we're both alone and done for the day, what do you think about having some fun? I could use a happy distraction and I'm sure you need some more stress relief." Atreyu reached out then to place his hand on Liwanu's chest, letting the pad of his thumb run across one of the faun's nipples. "I promise it'll be better than the first time."
Liwanu raised an eyebrow, surprised by Atreyu's proposal, although it was something that should have been normal between them. They were mated after all. Now that he thought on it he supposed their lack of intimacy was strange, but he had just grown comfortable with their friendly arrangement and trying to make love with the younger faun had just not crossed his mind. However, now that they were indeed alone and back in their marriage bed and with Atreyu touching him this way...He was seriously considering it. The chief was a handsome youth and would only grow more handsome with time. Liwanu smiled then and reached out to push Atreyu back in the furs.
“You know, that sounds like a good idea.” He murmured and leaned in to kiss Atreyu, his lips slanting gently against the other faun's, his mate and his brother. A possibility given that their fathers shared wives; it was only natural to expect that children could be sired with another's spouse. If Atreyu ever decided to take full advantage of having a second wife, Pakuna might even bear him a child one day. He ran his hands down Atreyu's sides and reached to undo his loincloth and pull it away, tossing it into the corner of the room. “I believe it is my turn this time to be on top, sani.”
Atreyu smiled, and for the first time felt completely at ease with the idea of having sex with Liwanu. It was so different from their first night together, and far less awkward. As his wicasa kissed him, he let his lips part slightly, inviting him to go further as he felt Liwanu pulling off his loincloth and tossing it aside. Already he was feeling the oats of his youth as his cock sprang to life, laying against his stomach ready for some action.
What Liwanu said next, however, made the faun quirk a brow. "Me on the bottom?" He repeated in a husky voice as if to confirm that was indeed what Liwanu had said. Atreyu's cheeks grew warm with a blush and he realized he had never been a bottom. He supposed if he had to try it out, at least he could trust his mate to do a better job than he did. "It'll be a first for me. You better go easy on me." He smiled again, pulling Liwanu back down for a more heated kiss as he let a free hand slide between them to grasp his mate's cock. He started to stroke it, enjoying the pliant flesh growing stiff in his hand.
“Of course. We are equals, sani. We share as mates share.” Liwanu chuckled and happily returned Atreyu's kiss. Despite his words, however, he found it felt more natural to have the younger faun underneath him. The boy was still smaller than him, it reminded him too much of Pakuna and he felt more inclined to playing the dominant role in their relationship. It would probably be that way until the young chief finally grew up. He moaned softly against Atreyu's mouth when the boy started to stroke him and he pressed closer to him.
“Mmm, sani...” He purred, the nubile young body in his arms and the coziness of the tent helping to put him in a more amorous state of mind and eager to roll around in the furs with his mate. Liwanu started laying kisses along Atreyu's neck and move down, his lips fluttering along the boy's smooth skin, not yet roughened by age. He caught a nipple between his teeth and nipped it playfully before continuing downwards. It was not long before his wandering mouth encountered Atreyu's cock and he ran his tongue flat against the underside, from bottom to top.
"Heh, I guess I forgot." Atreyu chuckled, realizing that as chief he wasn't entitled to always being on top. His apprehension, however, soon began to fade as he felt Liwanu's lips traveling down his body. His skin got goosebumps and he caressed his wicasa's soft hair, his hooves digging into the furs as that hot mouth found his nipples. "Maybe after this we can play more often." He bit his lower lip then, his head falling back as Liwanu went lower still, finding his cock with his tongue. "Oh spirits... that's nice." He purred, his hips twitching upward as his cock lifted a little, eager for more attention.
"Mmmm this sure beats my hand." Atreyu smirked, leaning up so he could watch Liwanu lick him and toy with his nubile young body.
“Well, allow me to remind you your place, sani.” Liwanu chuckled and shook his head. He sat up and reached for the jar of ointment that had sat forgotten in the corner of their room since their wedding night disaster. Whereas most couples would have used nearly all of it their first week, theirs was still full. A strong, sweet of lingaberry filled the air as he screwed off the cap and set it aside. He scooped out some of the orange cream and rubbed it between his hands to warm it, looking down at Atreyu with a smile.
“I recall our first night together as being rather unsuccessful, mostly in part due to my impatience and unwillingness to teach. After so long with Paku, who already knows me, I had forgotten what it was like to have a new lover. That I need to show you the sorts of ways I like to be touched.” Liwanu spoke while he rubbed the generous dollop of cream between his hands. “So allow me to rectify that. Turn over, sani.”
Atreyu found himself blushing as he recalled their first night and how unenthusiastic Liwanu was about the entire thing. It was truly an embarrassing memory and Atreyu wished they could go back and do it all over again. He supposed this was going to be their chance at making things right. "I am glad you're finally in the proper mood, wicasa. You really weren't very good on our wedding night. He shook his head then sat up and turned around, getting onto all fours. His tail swished side to side as he looked back over his shoulder, watching Liwanu warming up the salve.
"So tell me, how do you like to be touched?" Atreyu couldn't help but be curious, and he was more than hopeful that Liwanu would show him with a physical demonstration. He wiggled his hips a little, finding himself overly eager to feel his mate's hands all over him.
“Ah, the eagerness of youth.” Liwanu snorted, rolling his eyes a little. He shook his head and reached out to push Atreyu back down onto the furs, so he was laying instead of on his hands and knees. Afterward, he moved up and straddled the boy's narrow hips, resting lightly on Atreyu's rump. It made a good pillow, he mused, as he leaned forward and then began rubbing the youth's back, starting at his shoulders. His hands made smooth circular motions with the purpose of relaxing the muscles under them. The cream, warmed by his hands, seemed to melt into Atreyu's skin, leaving behind its sweet scent and a light tingle.
“You know, one of the things I love about hunters is how skilled they are with their hands. Pakuna is especially skilled; you should see the delicate traps he sets, he's one of the best. Those same lovely hands are also capable of being incredibly gentle, when he chooses. That is how I like to be touched. Gently, like this.” Liwanu murmured as he worked, his strong healer's hands gliding across Atreyu's back, loosening every muscle as he slowly made his way down. “I prefer to be caressed instead of slapped. A soft touch, a slow hand...I like sex to be a time of relaxation. I enjoy it more when I'm at ease.”
Atreyu was surprised that Liwanu hadn't started to ride him yet and as the older faun pressed him down he made himself comfortable, folding his arms under his chin. He supposed because he was so much older, his wicasa preferred a slower approach to lovemaking. His little joke and facial expression told him as much. Atreyu then felt him resting against his rump and those large, warm hands moving against his back. A sigh escaped the young chief as he felt Liwanu making his muscles relax with every caress. "Nnn that feels so good. Spirits, I never even thought of massage as foreplay." He snorted then let out a giggle as Liwanu's hands passed over a particularly sensitive and ticklish area. His tail continued to swish playfully, bumping into Liwanu's cock several times.
"Hmm I suppose I will find out if you enjoy my hunter's touch too." Atreyu smiled, closing his eyes and enjoying each sensation his partner elicited from his body. Atreyu never thought of hunters having a gentle touch, given that they used their hands to take down beasts and do hard work. Perhaps he could try to tease his wicasa sometime, doing whatever Pakuna does that he enjoys so much.
“Given the first time, I doubt very much you had even heard of foreplay.” Liwanu smirked. He was genuinely enjoying his work, exploring his young lover's body and seeing each reaction that came from each touch. The older faun was learning a lot, whether Atreyu realized it or not, on how to touch him just by his responses. He had grown erect himself, partially from Atreyu's mischievous tail and from the pleasure of touching his mate. He had soon worked his way completely down Atreyu's back and had to slide off.
“Alright, turn back over.” Liwanu said while he scooped another generous portion of the cream onto his hands and warmed it again. He gave the younger faun an impish smile. “Now I'll do the front.”
Atreyu was very relaxed as he turned over and almost had an angelic expression on his face. His eyes were half lidded and he let his arms rest at his sides as he looked up at his mate, noticing his hardened cock. "Looks like someone is happy to see me." He chuckled, eager to have his wicasa start rubbing his front, especially the nice, thick piece of flesh that was still quite stiff and resting against his belly. "I guess I have to learn foreplay, you're a good teacher though. I tend to be a little impatient and just want to cut to the chase... I'm used to just getting off, I never really think of doing anything extra. This is nice though."
Atreyu gazed up at Liwanu then, taking in his handsome features. He had quite a pleasant face and a very nice smile. It was a tragic turn of events that led him to be with the other faun and his mate, but somehow it was starting to fall into place and it felt right. For a moment Atreyu could imagine them years down the road. How much passion and love would they develop for one another? His lips parted then as he pondered it, then slowly he began to smile. "You know, you're really good looking. Quite handsome and strong." He said matter-of-factly, wanting to praise his lover and make him feel good.
“And you have quite a gift for stating the obvious, sani.” Liwanu teased as he moved up and knelt at Atreyu's side this time. Once more he leaned forward and began running his hands over the younger faun's body. This time his fingers lingered in certain areas, like his nipples, taking the time to tease. Occasionally the older faun would lean down and share a kiss with the other. They were equally as slow and as thorough as his hands were and it carried on until the caresses turned into outright groping and slow kisses melted into more passionate duels between their tongues. The massage soon turned into them simply making out on the furs with Liwanu's arms wrapped around Atreyu to pull the youth against his body. Their erect cocks ground against each other as they rolled around on the bedding like a pair of immature bucks. Atreyu's youth seemed to have infected Liwanu and he could not help but give in to that eagerness.
“Wait, wait...” He begged, reaching for the jar again. After all his preparation, he did not want to ruin the moment by hurting Atreyu on his first time. Liwanu rolled them back over again so he was on top and he lowered his cream covered fingers between Atreyu's spread legs and probed his tight entrance. He slicked the lingaberry cream over it before carefully pushing a digit in, his lips locked with Atreyu's again. He thrust it in a few times before adding another finger to begin truly stretching his partner out and prepare him to accept his cock.
Atreyu grinned, somehow loving Liwanu's snarky and sarcastic sense of humor. He knew the faun was well-meaning and soon his back was arching up off the furs as those hands started to caress his nipples and parts of him that were quite receptive to fondling. As the kisses became deeper and the touching grew into heavy petting, the young chief's body was practically burning a hole in the furs. He had thought Liwanu was handsome and attractive, but now he was outright sexy. He found himself wanting the faun more than he ever had before, and as they rolled about the furs and made out passionately he could hardly contain himself. His cock was already dripping precome as they ground their hips together, and he found his hands massaging Liwanu's firm rear.
When they finally parted he was practically breathless, eagerly waiting for his mate to prepare him for what was next. He spread his legs then and could feel a warm finger sliding into him. His muscles clenched down on it at first until he grew more used to the odd sensation. Once Liwanu slid in another finger, Atreyu managed to relax and there was a strange new sensation coming from within him. "Ah! Wicasa... you touched something that felt good." He smiled impishly, his cock twitching as the older faun pushed his fingers in again. "This isn't as bad as I thought it would be." He purred, already accepting the idea of being fucked.
“It'll get better.” Liwanu smirked, teasing him with the words that Atreyu had spoke to him on their wedding night. When he felt that the smaller faun was ready, he removed his hand and wiped it on one of the furs, then shifted up between Atreyu's legs. He smiled down at the young faun and leaned in to give him a quick peck on the lips. “Stay relaxed, sani. I'm going to come in now.”
Liwanu pushed the head of his cock against Atreyu's loosened hole and started pressing in slowly. He braced himself on his elbows above the smaller brunette, lowering his eyes as he worked each inch into his mate until he was seated to the hilt. He paused a moment, then slowly started to move his hips. He set up a steady rocking pace, making love to his husband in a leisurely manner.
Atreyu reached up and wrapped his arms around Liwanu's shoulders as the older faun braced himself to enter the young chief's virgin hole. He pressed his fingers pressed into his lover's warm skin as he felt Liwanu's thick member pressing into him. "Ahhh, spirits! You feel a lot bigger than you look." He blushed hotly and grinned, trying his best to take his mate's advice and relax. Yet he couldn't help but tighten up and clench down on Liwanu's cock as the faun started moving inside of him. It didn't hurt at all, thankfully, but it still felt unusual and slightly uncomfortable at first. It wasn't until his mate set a pace that Atreyu started to feel something building up very slowly inside himself. "Nnnn wicasa... Don't stop, it's starting to feel really nice." He then leaned up to give the faun a gentle kiss, enjoying their slow, methodical lovemaking session.
“I just started, why would I stop?” Liwanu chuckled, returning the kiss. He was regretting now that he had waited so long to lay with his mate properly; the little faun felt quite good beneath him and he could not say he would mind doing this again. The tent started to heat up considerably, with the fire still blazing in the center and the warmth coming from the two bodies writhing in the small room just in front of it.
Liwanu could not keep things at a slow pace forever and soon he was taking a more demanding rhythm as he drew closer and closer to his climax. He spoke very little, save for the occasional grunt between each panting breath that he took while he pounded Atreyu into the furs. He gripped the furs on either side of Atreyu's head, knotting his fingers in it as he used it to gain better leverage, sinking his cock as deeply into the younger faun’s tight channel as he could go.
"Ahhh, Liwanu...!" Atreyu couldn't hold back his moans as his lover sped up the pace and fanned the flames deep within him. Every thrust of his mate's hips sent a hot ripple through him as Liwanu hit that sensitive bundle of nerves deep inside his tight sheath. His cock began to drip precome onto his stomach as he lost himself in the ride, his body laced in a thin sheen of sweat. His hips backed upward into every thrust and Atreyu found his lips moving over Liwanu's neck. He couldn't help but feel frisky and he suckled on the flesh until he left satisfying red marks there. It was his way of marking his mate as his own.
"Mmmm, oh wicasa.... you're too good at this. Pakuna is so...ah... lucky to have you. Nnn, I think I am close..." He practically gasped, feeling his cock give a hard warning twitch. His head was practically swimming and he was completely in touch with every motion of his mate, from his breathing to his grunts, and the motions of his sturdy frame. "Mmmm come inside me~" He purred, wanting to feel Liwanu fill him with his hot seed.
“You're both...lucky, aaah!” Liwanu moaned and finally fell over the edge he had been skating for so long. He held Atreyu against him as he came, spending his seed deep in the core of his young lover. His fingers dug into Atreyu's back and he pressed his face into the smaller faun's shoulder as his body trembled violently for several minutes before finally growing still. He went limp on top of his husband, the strength drained out of him with his orgasm. “Mmm, sani...That was wonderful...”
Atreyu felt his lover tremble and hold onto him as his orgasm came. The young chief let his head fall back onto the furs then as his own body could no longer hold back and his cock gave several hard twitches, sending hot ropes of his own seed between their heated bodies. "Ahhh! Liwanu!" He gasped, his tight hole was clenching down on his mate and he was surprised by how good it felt to have a thick cock deep inside of him, milking his wicasa of his slick seed. Atreyu wrapped his arms around Liwanu then and laid there panting as his heart raced and he slowly came back to his senses. "You're quite skilled with that thing." He grinned, petting his lover's hair and enjoying the moment as they lay together in the afterglow.
“Well, I have had more practice than you. You seem to spend more time with your hand than anyone else, sani.” Liwanu smirked and rolled off to lay on his back next to the chief. “You know, you are mated now and you have a second wife. I know what I said that first night we were all together, but really, Pakuna is as much your wife as he is mine. As I said before, everything between us is shared now. When you are feeling those urges you are more than welcome to come to one of us. I'm sure Paku will appreciate your youthful stamina.”
Liwanu chuckled and stretched, then sat up to find something to clean up the mess with. “Speaking of youth, how goes it with those lovely breeders I introduced you to? Nana and Naomi? Are you still courting them both? I would think between the pair, you would not need so much alone time at home.”
"I wouldn't mind having another go with Pakuna." Atreyu admitted, grinning like the perv he was. "Marriage definitely has benefits, I can really get used to this. I might wind up abandoning my hand someday. Maybe. I'll think about it." He laughed, nuzzling Liwanu's shoulder as he rubbed his back.
As Liwanu sat up, so did Atreyu, finding a cloth by the stump to wipe up the mess he made of himself and also to clean the mess his mate left in his rear. "I do think Nana is very cute, I've been trying to befriend him and get to know him better. That Naomi scares me though... He is gorgeous, but he's a little too forward for my tastes. I know I told you I don't want a breeder to want me for my title or what I can provide as Chief, but that I want someone to love me. You know, the way you and Pakuna are so crazy for each other. That's what I really want. Something really passionate and genuine."
The young chief then got up and got his loincloth, tying it back on and plopping back down on the furs, sitting Indian-style. "I'm not sure if Nana is really interested, but he's very sweet and witty. I just... I don't know if it will go anywhere past friendship. Jaci is off limits and he's really the only one I set my sights on. I suppose it's one of those 'you want what you can't have' things. Yuma is so lucky." He sighed, letting his fingers dig into the soft fur in front of him. "I think I should wait for someone that makes me feel that way. Only I hope that someone won't be taken when that happens." He grinned and shook his head.
“Well, you're still young. You have plenty of time to wait and find the right one, so don't worry about it.” Liwanu shrugged. “Who knows, you may even find another like Jaci, although he seems to be pretty unique. However, he is forbidden territory, so I suggest you start forgetting about him. Longing for what you can't have will always only lead to trouble and heartache. Maybe you should try to avoid getting to close to him while he's still stuck in the village...”
Atreyu's ears fell a bit when Liwanu advised him to keep his distance and not get close to Jaci. Although it was good, sage advice, the young chief inwardly hated it. Knowing Jaci was right there in his village made it all the more difficult to take his mind off of the beautiful breeder. "I wouldn't do anything dishonorable, Liwanu. I know that getting close to him would pose a risk that could hurt the entire village. Yuma would probably start a war if anything ever happened between his wife and I. I have to forget him, I have no choice, but while he is here in Niabi I will see that he recovers and is treated well. He and Chandi are guests here, so I won't purposely try to avoid him. I can't stay away completely..." He lowered his gaze then, his fingers clenching the furs tightly then as his feelings conflicted with his better judgment.
***
A week had passed and much of the snow had been cleared away and paths gradually created to make Jaci and Chandi's travel back to Sewati a bit easier. Atreyu saw to it that the faun and his centaur companion had plenty of food and warm clothes to wear for their trip back. During the week, Atreyu tried to have whatever moments he could with Jaci without getting too close. He continuously played his roll of a welcoming host and tried to make sure Jaci and Chandi were taken care of. The pale faun gradually grew stronger and seemed to be back at full health, and soon he was ready to leave. Yet Atreyu still could not keep himself from wanting to know Jaci better, and during his stay the young chief did all he could to leave a good impression on the pale breeder.
The most difficult night was when they had a funeral pyre for Jaci's baby. Knowing the faun wanted him kept a secret from Yuma, and with the bitter cold and frozen earth of winter making a burial ceremony impossible, it was the only way to properly dispose of the tiny, premature body and give Jaci a moment to grieve. Atreyu had stood by the pale faun's side and said a prayer for the deceased child and for Jaci to someday be able to conceive a healthy baby to Yuma. As much as it hurt him to always be so supportive of Jaci's marriage, he knew it was the right thing to do. They all stood around the fire then in silence and that moment burned itself into Atreyu's mind forever.
They sat together then in the communal hut eating breakfast. Atreyu was at Jaci's side, as close as he could be, now and then glancing at the pale faun as he sipped the broth from his soup.
"You and your people are very kind for taking care of us throughout the week Chief Atreyu, we are in your debt. The weather seems to be clearing up and we should be able to go back to Sewati today." Chandi said as he looked over to Jaci and gently pat the faun's shoulder. He had hoped that they could return before Yuma and his hunters did, acting as though nothing had happened. It would help ensure Jaci's miscarriage remained a secret. He could certainly understand that Jaci didn't want to disappoint and worry Yuma.
Before Atreyu could reply there was a sudden ruckus coming from outside the hut and the sounds of startled, frightened villagers filled the air. Guards held up their spears, trying to hold back a very angry centaur Chief.
"Where is my wife?! Jaci??!" Yuma roared, stomping past the guards into the village and looking around frantically for his mate. He had made it back from the hunt to find Jaci missing. A few of his villagers told him Jaci had 'fallen ill' and was with Chandi in Niabi village recovering. The centaur Chief made haste to Niabi on his own, not bothering to hear the rest of the vague details that were tossed his way. All he knew was that something was wrong and his wife was in danger. "Jaci!!"
Atreyu quickly scurried to his hooves and ran out of the hut to see what was happening when he spotted Yuma shoving past his guards and pushing into the center of the village. He quickly called off his men to let Yuma pass, watching as they lowered their weapons. The rugged centaur spotted him and quickly galloped up to him, glaring down at Atreyu with anger on his face. "You! Where is my wife? Why is he here and not in Sewati? I heard he was ill... So help me, whelp, if you've laid a single hand on him..." Yuma narrowed his eyes at Atreyu, not forgetting that he was the lecherous faun that had watched him and his wife during their intimate moment by the river months earlier. He sensed that the youth had a thing for his wife and he couldn't help the rise of jealous anger that filled his core as he wondered what might have happened while he was gone.
"That is Chief Atreyu to you, Chief Yuma." Atreyu furrowed his brows in annoyance as the imposing centaur spoke down to him. "You come into my village and speak to me with such disrespect. I have your wife and my people have been nursing him to health. I found him collapsed in the forest with a high fever a week ago. A large snowstorm struck, so we had to bring him here and help him recover. Chandi and a few others were here to watch over him and I assure you, we've been very kind to your mate and we would never cause him harm. Please calm down."
"He should have been brought back to his own village for treatment. And why was he out in the forest alone? Were you trespassing on my lands again?" Yuma practically growled, his tail swishing behind him in agitation.
"Yes, I heard him crying for help, so I did go onto your lands where I found him near the river by a large rock. I had been out hunting and if I hadn't gone to him, he would surely be dead." Atreyu said sternly, not letting Yuma intimidate him. "We were just eating breakfast in the communal hut and preparing for Jaci to return home today. You are welcome to join us." Atreyu spoke calmly, extending the invitation to the irate centaur and hoping he would calm down.
Yuma then shoved past Atreyu roughly and entered the hut, spotting his wife and making his way over to him. "Jaci! Are you all right? Did they harm you at all, love?"
Hearing Yuma's voice for the first time after so many weeks and after his recent tragedy had a strange effect on Jaci. It sent his heart racing to have the much beloved sound of his husband's deep and rich baritone returned to him, but at the same time that cold knot returned to the pit of his stomach and sent chills running through all his limbs like electricity. Goosebumps raised on his flesh despite the warmth of the tent his hands trembled, although that was nothing new; the gentle tremors had plagued him on and off since his recovery from the fever. Liwanu had assured him it would go away as he regained his strength, but Jaci fought now to still it. He had no wish for Yuma to see any weakness in him and he mustered his wane strength to climb to his feet with the same gentle and firm grace he had always carried himself with. His expression betrayed nothing, remaining in its usual serene expression as he turned towards his mate and reached out blindly for his hand.
“No, maska. Were it not for them, I would lay dead in the forest now.” He replied in his soft, husky voice. “Chief Atreyu speaks the truth. I injured myself, a careless mistake on my part, and I left my guard behind. I was lucky that Atreyu had wandered so close to the border or else no one would have helped me. Please do not be angry, this is all my fault. I'm sorry, maska. I hope you will forgive me.”
Jaci lowered his head submissively, a public gesture of his contriteness that was more to allow Yuma to save face in the company of a rival tribe than anything else. Bitterness welled in him again, the same that had plagued him since he had awoken without that precious life growing within him. If the Spirits did not see fit to allow him to be a good mother, he would at least be a good wife. “I was preparing to return home today. I had hoped I would arrive before you to prepare your home for your arrival, but I admit I am much happier that you have come to fetch me instead. I would rather return with you than with Chandi. Allow me to say goodbye and then we will return where we belong.”
Jaci tilted his head in the general direction where he suspected Atreyu to be, not moving from Yuma's side. Although in the past week he had grown a little close to the young faun, mostly due to the sympathy and care the boy had given him. Even Yuma was never so attentive when he was ill, preferring to just leave him to the healer. Atreyu had also been very careful on the subject of his miscarriage, patient when Jaci had fits in the night when nightmares brought by his guilt, fear, and sorrow wracked him and tried to offer comfort. Perhaps the greatest kindness was the silent funeral for the lost child when Jaci would have just left it. However, the blind faun could not bring himself to speak of it and only kept it buried in the back of his mind. “Thank you for all you have done for me, Chief Atreyu. I will never forget the kindness you have shown me and I hope I can repay it one day. Now, my husband has come to fetch me, so I must take my leave.”
The tension in the air was thick until Jaci began to speak and Yuma visibly calmed, grateful that his lover was alive and well. He reached out to take the delicate hand into his own, wrapping his firm, calloused fingers around it. His green eyes focused on his mate and as Jaci lowered his head in submission and explained things in more depth, he turned to Atreyu once more. He could see it in the faun's eyes every time he looked at Jaci... He knew that look all too well. There was longing in his eyes and a hint of sadness that Jaci would be leaving. Yuma kept his face neutral and decided to hold his tongue, attempting to be more respectful to the boy chief. He did, after all, save Jaci's life...
"My apologies for my earlier behavior, Chief Atreyu. I was very concerned about the well-being of my wife and not in the mood for pleasantries. I owe you my thanks for taking care of Jaci and I am in your debt." Yuma spoke in a gentler tone, grateful he would be able to bring his wife back home safely. He then turned back to Jaci, barely able to take his eyes off his lovely mate. As Jaci spoke he felt a stab of guilt in the pit of his stomach, knowing how he had betrayed his mate with Kanzi while he was off on the hunt. He quickly tried to wipe it from his mind, making it as though it never happened. "Do not worry yourself with preparing the hut, I want you to rest and recover from your illness, or injuries." Yuma paused a moment then, wondering exactly what had befallen his mate. Chief Atreyu and his people said the faun fell ill, and Jaci said he had injured himself. He would have to question his mate further once they were in the privacy of their hut.
Atreyu nodded to Yuma and watched as Jaci turned toward him. He could hardly tear his eyes from the pale, moon-like orbs that looked sightlessly back at him. "You owe me nothing, Jaci. I am just glad that you are better and Yuma has returned for you. I wish you both a safe journey back and know that your people are always welcome here. This invitation extends to you too Chief Yuma. I want only peace and good will between our tribes."
Yuma couldn't avoid the steely glare he sent Atreyu's way, suspicious that the faun was being so generous because he wanted another excuse to see Jaci. "I appreciate your hospitality, however it is best my people stay in Sewati, and your people stay in Niabi." His voice was stern and slowly he lowered himself for Jaci. "Come Jaci, let's go home. I will carry you."
Chandi looked almost apologetically towards Atreyu and the others as his Chief clearly showed no interest in having their tribes mingle further. There was nothing he could say or do in that moment, the word of his Chief was law. "Thank you Chief Atreyu, and all of you. You've been very good to us and I won't forget your kindness. May the Spirits watch over you all." He said gently, preparing to follow his Chief home with Jaci in tow.
Jaci obediently climbed on top of Yuma's back, sitting sideways instead of astride it. He wrapped his arms around the centaur's waist and leaned against his back, feeling worn leather under his cheek. Apparently Yuma had not taken the time to change out of his hunting leathers before rushing off for him. Not surprising, considering how possessive and overprotective he tended to be. The pale faun said nothing else as they left, not really much for words. He had said all he could already and he would not say anything to argue against his husband's words. He hid his disappointment at the way Yuma dismissed Atreyu's hospitality against his husband's broad shoulder.
Jaci dozed on the trip back, lulled into comfort by the presence of Yuma surrounding him and the gentle rocking of his gait. His ears twitched as the familiar sounds of the Sewati village filtered to him, so different from Niabi. He decided to pretend to continue to be asleep, ignoring the greetings called out to them. Several people stopped Yuma, hunters it sounded like from the talk. Jaci paid little attention to it, simply waiting to be back in the safety of their hut.
Yuma wasted no time in getting Jaci back to their hut. He felt a mix of relief and anger towards his lover, knowing there was no way he could hold back his displeasure for Jaci always wandering off alone. Once he was inside the hut he turned slightly and lowered himself near their bed of furs to let the faun climb down. "We are home now, yahzi." He spoke gently, hoping he wouldn't upset his mate with what he was about to say. Usually when they reunited after a long hunt it was full of excitement and strong emotions. He hadn't been expecting to find his mate in another village and hear that he nearly died.
"You must promise me you'll stop going off on your own like that. Look what happened. If that faun had not found you, you could be dead, buried in the snow somewhere. I'd return to an empty hut and never know what became of you. Maybe now you will listen to me. I only want you to be safe, Jaci. I... I couldn't bear to lose you. Don't ever scare me like that again."
“I am tired, maska.” Jaci sighed as he settled on the furs and pulled off the hide capelet he was wearing. He paused, running his fingers over the soft, treated leather trimmed with soft rabbit fur. Atreyu had presented it to him on the third day of his recovery, when he had wanted to join his people in the communal hut. It had been incredibly cold that day and the young chief had been so concerned with Jaci's comfort. The pale faun set the winter garment aside and turned his attention back to his husband. “It was not as bad as it sounded and I only went where I usually go. Someone would have found me, they just found me sooner. Please...can we just forget about it? I have missed you.”
Yuma worked on removing his hunting leathers, stripping down to nothing before he lowered himself down beside his mate after Jaci got comfortable. He noted the new capelet he wore, figuring it was given to him by Atreyu. He had no doubt the Niabi boy chief would take Jaci in a heartbeat if the faun was not already claimed. "You know I always worry about you, Yahzi. I'm just glad you're back home with me. It's been a long stretch and I have missed you too, more than you know." The chief then lowered himself to lay beside his wife, reaching out to wrap an arm around Jaci as he leaned in to nuzzle his neck affectionately. Yuma stole a moment to inhale Jaci's familiar scent and let it soothe him of his worries. It was a sweet scent like a spring field of flowers.
He couldn't help but wonder if Kanzi would be able to keep what happened between them a secret. All the hunters knew what they had done and he was unprepared to have Jaci find out. If he took the breeder on as a second wife, he would have to prepare his mate for it...
"Do you have any good news for me? Before I left you said you might be with child..." He said gently, reaching down to rub Jaci's belly as he waited for the news. Part of him hoped it could be so, but he couldn't help but feel it was another false alarm. He would need to have at least one heir soon, and he hated to put such pressure on his wife, but there was no way around it. The need for a child made him consider Kanzi even more. It was a guilty thought...
Jaci let himself be pulled in by Yuma, allowing himself to relax in the centaur's arms. He closed his eyes and rested his head against Yuma's shoulder. It was almost overwhelming, the relief he felt to be with his husband again. At least, until Yuma mentioned the child. He stiffened and his breath caught in his throat. His chest tightened and he pulled away from Yuma and turned away.
“There's no child.” Jaci managed to squeeze the words out despite the way his throat seemed constricted. His hands clenched themselves and he struggled to stop their trembling. “I'm sorry, maska. I...I know I disappoint you..”
Yuma could feel Jaci stiffen and his lips formed a frown as the pale faun pulled back and turned away from him. Jaci's reaction seemed a bit more tense than usual and Yuma's brows furrowed in concern. The chief then let out a long sigh and reached out to rest his hand on Jaci's shoulder. "Don't be too hard on yourself Yahzi, I know it is difficult. We will get through this... Please don't think yourself a disappointment to me, I love you. We have plenty of time to keep trying, but for now we should just rest. I need you... Please don't turn away from me."
Yuma then moved closer to Jaci until his broad chest was flush with Jaci's back and the centaur was holding his wife firmly in his protective arms. His large hands found Jaci's trembling, tense ones and he wrapped his fingers around them, holding them and laying gentle kisses on the back of Jaci's neck. "Relax, everything will be fine Jaci."
Jaci said nothing in reply, afraid to speak lest he start weeping again. Given that he had not really been prone to fits of tears around Yuma before it would more than likely rouse the centaur's suspicions that there was something more going on. He sighed and kept his head lowered, mumbling into his chest when he finally spoke again. “I am very tired, maska. I think I should like to sleep now.” Supporting Hell and Elysium Character & Scene Imagery: http://otaku-no-bijutsu.deviantart.com/gallery/33853739
