Chapter Nine:

“I am so fucking tired…” Calom mumbled as he  sat wolfing down a second bowl of cornflakes. Elliot was slouched beside him on the sofa, a slight smirk lingering on his handsome face. He reached out a hand to stroke down Calom’s back, who stiffened and threw him a little glare over his shoulder. Elliot just laughed, watching as a bit of milk ran down his lover’s chin. He sat up and leaned over to lick it away, laughing even more when Calom shoved him away and got up to dump his bowl in the kitchen. Elliot shook his head, still not understanding why the teen was so reluctant to be close to him after the night they’d had.

He was determined to make Calom more affectionate, or at least allow him to be affectionate. It would be hard work but he was convinced he’d be able to make it work. After all, he was just as stubborn as the teen with the glaring eyes.

“Wanna snuggle?” he asked, and before Calom could reply, Elliot had tugged him back down onto the sofa, wrapping him in his arms and pinning him there against his chest. Calom wriggled and cursed him, not finding it very amusing at all. “Let me go! I don’t wanna be seen ‘snuggling’ with you El, get off!” he was surprised when he was suddenly released so he nearly toppled forward and onto the floor. “You just called me El…” Calom froze when he heard this, slowly turning to look at Elliot, who was looking at him a little smugly, but also with a little bit of emotion in his eyes that Calom didn’t want to think about. “I didn’t I said Elliot” he snapped, shuffling over to be further away from him. Elliot shuffled over too, and brushed strands of soft brown hair out of Calom’s blushing, angry face. “I love it, I wouldn’t really like anyone else calling me El…but coming from you it’s amazing”.

Calom didn’t reply, he just rolled his eyes and grabbed a magazine, flicking through the pages as if he hadn’t heard anything. He dipped his red face further into the pages when footsteps came down the stairs.

“Good morning” Jeremy said as he entered the room, sensitive nose picking of the smell of their mating and it took all his willpower to fight back a grin as Calom glared over the magazine at him, daring him to joke about it. “Good morning Jeremy, Miriam alright?” Elliot asked casually, standing up to stretch, not missing the glance he got from his new lover. He exchanged an amused look with Jeremy before the Alpha replied, “Yes she’s fine thanks, she’s still asleep though”.

Later on in the morning, when the others were awake, Jeremy gathered them altogether in the living room to talk, “Russell, Elliot and Calom you need to go and find jobs, I know we’ve spoken about this but I need to know you will try your best . We only have so much savings to live on and it’s running low so we need some money coming in as soon as possible otherwise we’ll be living in our cars with two babies to accommodate” they all looked at each other and then nodded to show they agreed, knowing they didn’t have much choice. Elliot slipped his hand into Cal’s and squeezed when the teen looked worried. He knew he was worrying about being able to get a job with hardly any going and having no experience. It had been while since Elliot and Russell had worked to support the pack, and those jobs hadn’t lasted long, though at least it was some kind of experience.

They went out to one of the cars, Calom pulling his hand away as soon as they were out the door, and drove away towards the town centre. “It’s going to take ages to get a job” Cal huffed, glaring out the window at the houses whizzing by, while Russell sat up front driving with Elliot beside him, who looked over his shoulder and sighed at the teen’s whining. “Try to be more positive otherwise you’ll end up going on the dole and I don’t think Jeremy would appreciate you doing that”.

“Yeah but what if we can’t get jobs? We’d have to go on the dole to get a little money to support us. I hate the fact we have to fit in with the Human world when we’re not like them, we shouldn’t have to worry about money and somewhere to live when we can live in a forest somewhere…” he trailed off when he noticed Elliot frowning at him from the passenger seat.

“You’re an uncle now, remember? The children can’t shift yet, it wouldn’t be fair to raise them like that” Elliot replied with a slightly scolding tone, which made Calom even angrier, but he just kept quiet and continued to look out the window, ignoring the fact that Elliot was actually right, he hated admitting the guy was right.

They reached the town centre and had a walk around the dismal shops, finding no jobs going in any of the stores. “This was a shit place to move to wasn’t it?” Cal mumbled as he peered into a dark little book store, nose twitching as he picked up the smell of hotdogs somewhere near by, causing his mouth to water and stomach to growl. Elliot came up beside him just moments later and shoved a hotdog in his hand with a smirk as Cal’s stomach rumbled again in response.

“Where’s Russell?” he asked through a mouthful of food, looking up at Elliot as he did so. Elliot frowned and replied, “He wandered off somewhere…and can you not talk with a mouth full of sausage please?” he reached over to wipe tomato sauce off Calom’s cheek, who finished chewing and swallowed, raising an eyebrow at him. “I thought you’d like something like that” he commented dryly, making Elliot’s eyes go wide, but before he could reply Russell came jogging over to them with a grin plastered on his face. “I got me a job”.

“What?” Calom growled, eyes narrowing dangerously. Elliot took hold of Cal’s hand holding the hotdog and moved it up to his sauce stained lips to shut him up. “You did? Where?” he asked Russell, who pointed at a small-looking pub across the road. “They need another barman so they took me on, they said I got the personality for it. Cash in hand job too so I won’t be on the books”.

After that they wandered back to the car and drove home, Calom once again scowling in the back though this time for a different reason. “First day of properly looking and you find a job just like that and one that’s cash in hand….you are one jammy bastard” Calom muttered as he climbed out the back of the car when they reached their new home. Russell just grinned and shrugged as he locked the car and then strolled inside, whereas Elliot leaned on the bonnet and said, “One minute you’re moaning that we have to get jobs, the next your moaning that Russell got one and you didn’t”.

“I thought you liked it when I moan?” Calom replied in an innocent tone, walking towards the front door. Elliot blinked in surprise and then hurried after him. “Stop that” he said, reaching to grab him but Calom ducked out of the way and went towards the gate leading to the back garden instead. “Stop what?” he called over his shoulder as he jumped up and over the gate. Elliot followed, “Stop saying things like that to throw me off what I was talking about”.

“I don’t like being told off by you all the time and it seems it’s a good tactic to avoid your lectures, but if you like I could just punch you like usual” Cal snapped, sitting down on the little patch of grass further down the garden. Elliot stood looking down at him, tall form blocking out the bit of sun that was in the cloudy sky. “I don’t lecture you”.

“You always disagree with me” Cal muttered, pulling out a cigarette and lighting up, knowing it would drive the other away for a while. “Cal I thought you were quitting? You were doing really good” he scolded, reaching down to take it from him, but Cal shoved him away so he almost toppled over, “I can do whatever the fuck I want so leave me the hell alone for once”. Elliot growled and dived on him, knocking the cigarette out of his grasping fingers and pinning him to the ground with a dark look in his eyes.

Just as the teen was thinking about kneeing him in a certain place, insistent lips pressed against his own and he couldn’t help but melt into the kiss and press up against the hard body above him. When a warm hand dipped into his trousers he pulled away from the kiss and tried to wriggle out from under the horny male attacking his mouth. “The others are right inside, if one of them comes into the kitchen I don’t think they’ll appreciate the sight they’d see out here you moron” Calom snapped, managing to give him a hard shove and then scrambling to his feet to run off, but before he could go anywhere Elliot grabbed his ankle and yanked him down so he fell onto his front, gashing his forehead open on a sharp twig lying hidden in the long grass.

Growling, he flipped round and punched Elliot in the face as hard as he could, and then dived on him as he fell back from the impact, teeth sharpening to tear at Elliot’s exposed neck, who growled back in challenge and eventually managed to roll them over, mouth clamping onto his shoulder to pin him in place and show who was dominant. When Cal found he couldn’t make him budge even after punching his sides,  he did the only thing he could think of to make Elliot stop, and raised his hips, slowly rubbing his crotch against Elliot’s, causing them both to moan.

The mouth on his shoulder pulled away, and the hips above him moved with his, and then he was suddenly flipped onto his front, cold air finding his legs and ass as Elliot stripped him of his trousers and underwear. He cursed and tried to crawl forwards, as this wasn’t how he intended it to go, he’d wanted his lover to pull away far enough so he could smack him away and run for it.

His resistance soon ebbed away though as Elliot’s hand stroked him, other hand preparing him before he was entered and thrust into hard and slow. Cal was soon begging him to go faster, no longer needing to be pinned in place, hands gripping bunches of grass to keep his balance as Elliot moved against him. He was then pulled up to his knees against Elliot’s chest, head lying back on the taller male’s shoulder, and he moved his face to the side to meet Elliot’s lips in a deep kiss.

Just as they reached their climax they heard Midge cry out in disgust from inside, who ran off upstairs in an attempt to get away from the sight now burned into her brain, followed by Russell who hurried after her in concern.

Cal slumped against Elliot, chest rising and falling fast with gasping breaths. “Want to get an early night?” Elliot whispered in his ear with a huskiness to his voice that made Cal excited to do more. He found himself nodding weakly, though he knew when he came to his senses later he’d be angry at giving in, but for now, he just didn’t care.
