“I thought schools were closed for far more than three weeks,” Sander mumbled sleepily. Kenta had spent the night with him, and they were exhausted. The coffee was strong and good, and a necessity that morning at breakfast.
“They are,” Kenta nodded. “So am I, officially. But three weeks are enough for me. I get edgy if I have to stay home longer than that, so I start preparing my new program for the next school year after three weeks.”
“I wish I had more time off… I would love to spend some time at your cottage.”
“How do you know it’s a cottage?”
“Google maps,” Sander shrugged. “I was curious!” he added as the man laughed.
“That’s alright; I’m just pleasantly surprised…” Kenta finished his coffee, and stood up from the breakfast table. “Shall I give you a ride to work?”
“Oh, would you? That would save me so much time… More time to kiss you.” He instantly pulled the man in a tight embrace. “You were awesome, Kenta… No, you are awesome. Are you my boyfriend now?”
“Of course I am your boyfriend,” Kenta smirked. “I was your boyfriend yesterday…” They spent the next few minutes kissing and cuddling, until it was really time to leave.
Kenta brought him all the way to the office. He parked right in front of the door, and offered his lips. Sander didn’t hesitate to kiss him again –his lips would be bruised all day. He waved until the Mini disappeared from view, and walked inside, dreamily humming a tune.
“Who the hell was that?”
It was as if a needle scratched over a romantic record. Sander winched. “Good morning, Kev…” Kevin worked at the same office, but at a different function. He was five years older. He had finished school. “That was Kenta,” he said, trying to sound at ease. “I met him a few days ago, and he spent the night.”
“Kenta, and he spent the night,” Kevin repeated with disgust. “Are you crazy?”
“No. In love,” Sander smirked. “I can’t help it that your date was a disaster… Mine was great. He’s awesome.”
“What do you know about my date? It was no disaster at all. I fucked her,” he whispered harshly. “By the way, I took a test at the beginning of the week. I’ll get the results soon. You should test too, because we didn’t use anything.”
Sander took one step back. Tests… Of course. That was important. Especially since they didn’t use rubbers, like Kenta had done. “I will,” he nodded. “Good to hear your date was good, Kev,” he added. “So you will see her again…?”
“No, I won’t. What’s that up to you? I never fuck twice,” Kevin spat. He jerked around and paced away, leaving Sander behind.
Okay, that didn’t work out well. Sander slowly walked to the post chamber. Was Kevin jealous, or simply being a jerk? It was difficult to determine. Anyway, it wasn’t important. He had Kenta.

Kevin hit the keys so hard, some of his nearest colleagues looked up to frown at him. He barely knew what he was typing. His mind was raging.
His date had been a disaster. He didn’t have sex at all; he had ran off before she could even try anything. He didn’t lie about the HIV tests, but he lied about when he had taken it. He had the results already. He was negative. Hopefully Sander was negative as well.
With another deep sigh, Kevin stopped working, and buried his face in his hands. Kenta… He didn’t see him, but Sander had looked so happy when he left that Mini. It wasn’t fair… They never had the chance to try something again, and now it wouldn’t happen anymore.
“Kevin. Come to my office.”
Kevin sighed again. “Yes, Adam…” He didn’t hurry, and dragged with his feet as he walked into the office of his boss. He shut the door behind him. “What can I do for you, Adam?” he asked without looking up.
“Sit down.” The man sat down as well, but not behind his desk. He leaned forward, arms on his knees, and Kevin felt his eyes burning on his skin. “What’s wrong with you, Kevin? You just had vacation. Look at your tan… You spent hours in the sun, right? So why are you so grumpy?”
Kevin had never really looked the man in the eyes. Adam was a big man, as in tall and broad shouldered, with lots of blond hair everywhere. He looked like a sophisticated Viking. But he didn’t know the color of his eyes, and suddenly he wanted to know. He looked up. They were bright blue. “Eh…”
“Today it’s even worse,” Adam continued with his soft, rumbling tone of voice. “I could hear you smashing your keyboard all the way in here, Kev… That’s not good. Do you want to talk about it?”
“Not really…” Yes, let me talk about how I slept with my best friend who works at the post chamber, he thought. Let me tell you how sad I am because he has found a boyfriend almost immediately. Let me say how much I long for a lover, and how handsome you are now I look at you. Let me ask you if you are gay, and please tell me that you are.
“It’s rather personal,” he said eventually.
“Mh. Personal as in relational?” Adam was a boss, so he wouldn’t leave it with that.
Kevin gave it another thought. “Sort of,” he concluded.
“Sort of. Hm.” Adam nodded slowly. He stood up, and walked to his personal coffeemaker. He poured two cups.
Kevin groaned softly. He wouldn’t be leaving that stupid office for a while, apparently. “Black,” he answered Adam’s questioning gesture towards the sugar pot. Another sigh escaped him as he sat back and tried to relax. He rubbed his eyes. What the hell would he tell his boss…? The man was his superior!
Adam sat down again. He blew on his coffee before he sipped, and observed Kevin quietly. Kevin tried to avoid the penetrating gaze. “I’m sorry,” he said softly. “Something happened, and … I can’t talk about it.”
“You will talk about it, Kevin,” Adam rumbled. “Tell me everything. If you don’t, I’m afraid I will have to send you home for today, because you can’t work like this. So talk. Pretend I’m your big brother or something. I'm no foe, Kev… You can trust me.”
“You’re my boss,” Kevin sighed, looking into the man’s eyes. Shit, he was beautiful. He shook his head, and looked away. “I had a date and it didn’t go according to plan,” he gave it a try.
“A date,” Adam repeated. “With a girl…?”
Kevin jerked his head up, and scowled. He opened his mouth to place a snappy remark, but no sound came out for a while. The bright blue eyes bored into his, melting his brain. “No,” he croaked before he could swallow it back.
“No? Hmm… A nice boy, then?”
Still mesmerized, Kevin nodded slowly. “Uh-huh…”
“Really… Interesting,” Adam mumbled, his eyes sliding over Kevin’s face. “But it was no success…?”
“No… He’s met someone else,” Kevin murmured. “I saw them kissing.”
“Oh, right… Now I understand why you were upset.” Adam sat upright, and finished his coffee. He finally stopped staring; his eyes softened. “No use to be so upset though, is it now?” he said with a warm smile. “There are other nice boys, or even men. You will meet someone better, I’m sure.”
“Yeah. Probably,” Kevin admitted halfheartedly. “I should search in another direction.”
“Yeah. You should. Do you feel a bit better now you’ve talked about it? Can you be sweet to your keyboard again?”
“Yeah.” Kevin realized they were both ‘yeah-ing’ a lot. He glanced up, again struck by the brightness of those eyes, and said it again, “Yeah. I’ll be sweet.”
“I’m sure you will,” Adam smiled. He winked at him.
Kevin felt his face turn red. He quickly downed his coffee, and stood up. “If this is all, I’ll go back to work now…” he mumbled.
“Go,” Adam nodded. His eyes raked down Kevin’s body. Kevin was sure he saw the grin broaden a little, and he blushed almost scarlet as he fled out of the office.
Adam was his boss, not some bloke in a club! He had never paid attention to the man, he had never seen him like that. He was gorgeous…
This was so not good…
