L'Italiano
Okay, so after I posted last chapter I went to the Saint Jean Baptiste day parade. It was a really nice parade, I was impressed since Hawkesbury is a small town after all and since we live in Ontario, although we're French, our town dosen't usually celebrate this hoiday. I was also happy to see people from Quebec in the parade. Sometimes Quebecois and Ontarians tend to dislike each other.
Appart from that, this week was REALLY hot. For that reason I didn't write that much this week. Since I worked outside in the sun I was too tired to write when I came back from work. I really wanted to write a little Saint Jean Baptist special side story but I didn't get to finish it. Hopefully, I might complete it this week and make it a Canada's day special too. I have a day off Wednesday for Canada's day so I'll write for you guys!
Enough of my babbling, lets go to the reviews!
kylee- You're welcome, I laughed my ass off writhing that one. I thought when you'd read it you'd think to yourself 'That girl is insane.' Other than that, I can totally imagine Kuro being his usual emotionless self and have sex with Yuuri. Yuuri would probably get angry. Furthermore, as Yuuri would say: He's becoming much to affected by that redhead! I think thier relationship is going quite smoothly. As for the other question, well, I can't answer since I won't spoil my own story. However, I've never managed to kill on of my characters off. I end up liking them to much.
Lisa- Sorry if I didn't mention it or didn't make it clear enough but the King is in the same grade as Kishimoto and Hibari. That's why you see those name comming up in his flash back, it's them. They are some kind of senior trio since Yuuri, Kuro, Ren and Santa are all a year younger. As for Gianni, he's only four years older than Tyler, so when they met Gianni had just started high school and Tyler was just starting. Now Tyler's 19 while Gianni is 23. And yes, Tyler did act a lot like Yuuri dose. I wanted to make that parrallel since now that he's older the King is a nice and charming person. Yuuri is not a lost cause after all! As for the other two question, Hi-mi-tsu. It's a secret, you'll just have to read along to find that out!
BRM- Wow, I'm lucky, I got a tackle hug and kisses this time. I might have to get my revenge sometime. When you'll least expect it I will tackle hug and kiss you back! But thank you very much, it makes me very happy that you're so into this story!
Now for chapter nine-Enjoy!

It was on a rainy Sunday that I began doing my community service. Before I left home, I made sure to take my medication as I promised I would from the day I injured Miss Potvin. It was chilly outside; I had to wear my coat, my boots and even my gloves.
I’ve been assigned to a patient at a local hospital. I will have to help the person like some kind of nurse while I’m with him. Of course, I can’t give him any medication, it’ll be more to give him moral support. I find it funny that they gave me that kind of task. I don’t see myself helping another person when I can’t even deal with myself. I’m not so sure I can make someone feel better about themselves. Not that I have any other choice, I can’t afford to fail this time!
When I walk into the hospital, a doctor is there to greet me. He was a man in his late thirties. Even so he was unbelievably handsome and somewhat remind me of someone. I realise why once I’ve read his name tag, it says ‘Abe Ranmaru’. He’s surely be related to the boy that helped me the other day, Hibari. He must be the one in charge of supervising me.
“Are you Ohba Tyler kun?” he asked, he had a strict and cold tone, he made me a little uncomfortable. I nodded slowly. “I’m doctor Abe, I’ll be supervising you.” He explained.
“Um, this may be a bit personal but do you know anyone called Abe Hibari?” I asked.
“He’s my son.” He answered. I see. That’s where Hibari’s ambition for becoming a doctor comes from.
“He got hurt as he helped me the other day, is he alright?” I asked.
“Don’t concern yourself with him, he’s fine.” The doctor replied coldly.
“If you say so.” I said nervously.
“Come, I’ll show you the patient’s room. He’s asleep for the moment so it’ll be easy work for you.” Dr Abe said, he walked me up to room 345.
“His name is Gianni Vivarelli, do anything weird and we’ll call the police. Call me if you ever need anything.” He said before he turned on his heels and walked away without any information of any sort. I glared at his back, it hasn’t even been five minutes and I already dislike this man. What a good start!
“Sorry for Dr Abe’s attitude. He gives everyone the cold shoulder.” Said an Asian looking nurse coming up behind me, I was a bit startled by her sudden appearance but I smile at her nonetheless. She looked much more sweet then the doctor.
“Yeah, he didn’t really tell me anything about the patient.” I explained.
“I’ll help you then, I’ve been attending to Gianni for a while now. My name is Xiao Xi.” She said smiling brightly.
“I’m Ohba Tyler, nice to meet you.” I said smiling back, she shook my hand.
“Gianni got in a very bad car accident last June. His back was hurt pretty badly, now he’s paralyzed from waist down. He’s still in recovery at the moment.” She explained.
“So what do I have to do?” I asked.
“Basically, try to keep him company. This kind of accident is very depressing and frustrating. He’s only eighteen years old. He finished high school just before the tragedy happened. Try to cheer him up.” She suggested. Wow, only eighteen, I hadn’t expected him to be so young. He’s much worst off then I am.
“I’ll try my best.” I said nodding in determination.
“Thank you, Tyler, I really hope you can save him.” She said, the last part I didn’t catch though.
Nothing could explain the feeling that came over me when I first saw him. He lay on the bed motionlessly and even from the door I could tell he was in pretty bad shape. A machine was helping him breath in his sleep. I couldn’t see most of his injuries since he was covered up to his neck.
I crept closer to him to hope to get a better view at his face. One side of his face was slightly disfigured yet I couldn’t help but think he was strangely beautiful. He had clear healthy looking skin, thin lips and a strong square jaw. I assumed his nose was broken since it swollen. Moreover he as short hair, only about an inch, they are either red or dark blond. It’s hard to tell at this length but I understand why he keeps it that way, he has some bald spots. According to Xiao Xi, it’ll eventually grow back.
I’ve spent long minutes just observing him. His face was much more different that how I thought it would be. I’ve expected to see someone in pain, some one week and broken but he’s completely the opposite. Even in his sleep, he seemed to have a determined frown on his face. He has this strong masculine aura and most of all he doesn’t seem like the person that backs down in the face of danger or gives up after the first try.
“Are you alright Tyler?” asked Xiao Xi. I hadn’t even realised I had zoned out. “I’d understand if you were uneasy being around him. Some people have trouble being around injured or sick.” She explained.
“Not at all, I really want to help him!” I exclaimed. I’m even much more motivated to help him now that I’ve seen him.
“Will you be able to stay alone with him while I attend to some other patients?” She asked.
“Sure, I’ll watch over him!” I said cheerfully. She nodded and left me with the sleeping Italian. I couldn’t wait to introduce myself to him. I sat be him and waited for him to wake up.
Eventually I was tired of sitting around doing nothing so I got up and decided to have a look around the room. I found many books. I picked one up out of curiosity; unfortunately, it was in Italian, after further research I realised that all of his books were. I hope Italian is not the only language he speaks because then we might have some communication problems. Out of boredom I began to read one of the books loudly, I thought I sounded cool reading Italian.
“Who are you? Why are you touching my stuff? And why are you even in my room?” My patient said in an annoyed tone. He had removed the breathing mask. He had a deep suave voice and a thick Italian accent. I turned to him with a large grin on my face.
“I’m Ohba Tyler. I’m here to look after you.” I said brightly.
“Get out.” He said. From his glare, I could tell he was dead serious.
“Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.” I said frowning slightly, however my grin never faded. “Don’t you want any company?” I asked.
“Not at all.” He answered dryly.
“Too bad because you’re stuck with me. You happen to be my assignment for my community service.” I said crossing my arms. I was looking at him through my mind in a teasing manner. I think I was seriously starting to piss him off.
“Couldn’t it be someone else.” He asked.
“Nope, it must be you; I think you look like a very interesting person.” I replied.
“I’m not here for your personal amusement kid.” He said never stopping glaring at me with his gorgeous olive green eyes. My grin only widens.
“It’s only for a few hours every week.” I argued.
“Don’t I get a say in this.” He asked.
“I’m sure we’ll get along just fine, you’ll even end up being thankful for my head.” I said, he groaned. I’m very confident in my skill, I happen to have an ego the size of Canada. But most of that confidence comes from him, from my desire to help him.
“Look, if you’re really going to help me why don’t you go get me a glass of water?” he asked rubbing his temples in annoyance.
“Didn’t you forget a tiny little word?” I asked, putting my thumb and my index together to put some emphasis on the ‘tiny’.
“Please.” He said, he was obviously trying to contain his anger. I was enjoying this more every minute. He gets annoyed so easily.
“Sure.” I said I left the room for a moment to get him a glass of water.
“How old are you anyways?” he asked as he took the glass from my hands.
“Fourteen!” I said proudly.
“I thought you’d be younger.” He said as he sipped at his water.
“Why would you say that, I think I’m tall for my age?” I said sitting down on the chair beside him.
“That’s not the issue, you look your age. You just act like a child. Can’t you see you’re the only cheerful person in this whole hospital. Your attitude is very childish.” He explained, I frowned and crossed my arms.
“That was very cold you know? I’m only trying to cheer you up.” I said.
“Do I look like I want to be cheered up kid? I’m 18 and I’ll be stuck in a wheelchair all my life. Stop wasting your breath on me, my life is already screwed.” He said harshly.
“Sure, you’re totally screwed Gianni, with that attitude of yours you might as well stay on that hospital bed all your life.” I said as I looked at him in the eyes.
“What did you say?” he asked, I swear if he had he be able to get up from the bed on his own he would have jumped and beat the holy crap out of me. Yet to anger him even more I smirked up at him. Every time his anger grow I only take it as a challenge, Gianni is a strong person and for some reason he acts as he’s given up. However, the fire in his eyes tells me otherwise.
“Why are you trying so hard to act like your life is over?” I asked.
“I’m not acting.” I argued. “What do you know about me?” he asked angrily.
“Not much but I know that you haven’t given up on life. You have the eyes of a pouncing tiger. I know that you’re stronger than you’d like to believe!” I shout. “I know that if there was only one chance in a million for you to walk again you’d be the one to do it.” I said, this time my features soften and my glare melted in a gentle smile.
“You brat,” His eyes were wide and he looked astonished.
“The name’s Tyler.” I said winking at him. I stood up and grabbed my coat. “I’ll be coming back on Wednesday. Be sure you send your bad attitude on a vacation next time.” I headed toward the door. “Take care.” I added.
“Tyler,” He started, I stopped to hear what he had to say. “Don’t ever try to read my books again, your Italian sucks so much it’s painful.” He said, I turned around and pulled my tongue at him before I ran out the room.
“You’ll just have to teach me sometime!” I shouted before I was out of his ear range.
“In your dreams kids!” he shouted back. He couldn’t see the large smile on my face, I have to say my speech was pretty awesome. I clearly touched him. I think it makes me much happier than it should. I can’t help but think; I like this person. I’m looking forward to see him on Wednesday.
“How was your day?” asked Isaac as I came in. I was about to ignore him a rush up to my room but I stopped at the entrance.
“I had fun. I met with the patient I’m going to be helping. He’s only eighteen and he lost the use of his legs last June. He has a bad temper and he acts as if I annoy him all the time but I don’t think he hates me.” I explained, Isaac was dumbfounded at my answer. I made a promise to myself I wouldn’t make my father’s life harder. I might as well give his boyfriend a little chance.
“That’s great. If you become friends with the boy it’ll make it much more enjoyable for the both of you.” He said, he seemed overjoyed that I was finally talking to him.
“Yeah, he still underestimates me but I’ll get to him somehow. He looks like a strong person. I can’t wait to see him get better.” I said smiling brightly and Isaac smiled back. Maybe he’s not such a bad person after all. He’s seems caring, much more caring than Helena had ever been. She would have never even asked me how my day was. Isaac is also a chatty person sat together in the entrance and talked until my father came back from doing the groceries. My dad starred dumbfound at us as he walked in.
“Oh, hi dad!” I said cheerfully. A warm smile appeared on my father’s face.
“Can you two help me take the groceries inside.” He asked. I nodded then both Isaac and I went to the car to get the bags. For the first time and ages, I had supper at the kitchen table. Hikari was gone to one of her friend’s house so I had no problem with it. This is the best day I’ve had in a long time, for the first time I could see how a warm loving family felt like.
Wednesday was a gloomy day but I couldn’t stop myself from smiling through my day. In the back of my mind I mused to myself that I’d be able to see Gianni in a few hours. This time I told him I’d be coming I hope he has the decency to be awake when I arrive this time.
Regardless of what I had hoped when I arrived in the familiar hospital room the Italian was slumbering peacefully. He looked more comfortable this time around, maybe he’s not in too much pain today. I smile to myself at the sight, I silently sat on the bed beside him. I brushed the back of my against his cheek, his skin was soft and cleanly shaved. He didn’t wear the breathing mask to sleep today.
“You must be doing it on purpose. This time you knew I was coming.” I said gently. However I wasn’t insulted at all, I liked listening to his steady breathing as much as talking to him. He’s such a mesmerizing person. “You made sure to go to sleep right before I arrived didn’t you?” I asked. I never expected him to answer, I was talking more to myself than to him. That’s why I jumped out of my skin when he stirred.
“You never told me at what time you would be coming.” He answered glaring up at me. I quickly got off the bed. I blushed, I must have woke him when I touched him.
“My bad.” I said scratching the back of my head nervously. “I came as soon as school ended.” I explained.
“What grade are you in?” He asked sitting himself up, he leaned against the bed’s headboard.
“I’m starting the ninth grade!” I said proudly.
“You’re a big kid to be only starting high school.” He commented.
“I get that remark a lot because I’m very tall but you should see Abe Hibari from my class. He’s even taller than I am!” I said.
“Regardless of your looks you’re very noisy for a ninth grader.” He added. I smirked at him.
“And there I thought you were giving me a compliment. I thought it was a little odd that you’d get that much nicer in the space of a few days.” I commented. He glared at me.
“Back at you, you didn’t get less annoying.” He answered.
“But I’m still nice to you, I came here to share my cheerfulness with you and I even brought you some of my homemade cooking.” I said, my smirk widened when a light blush spread across his face. I placed the bag on top of the sheets. “Care to have a meal with me?” I asked in an almost seductive manner. He blushed and turned his head away.
“Do anything you want brat.” He said trying to recover his pride. I chuckled too myself. “What are you laughing at stupid kid?” He asked. His wild angry green eyes locked with my amber ones.
“I couldn’t stop myself from thinking you were very cute.” I admitted. His face became beat red.
“Stupid brat, how dare you call your elder cute? Didn’t your parents teach you any manners?” He asked trying to cover up his embracement. “Make yourself useful while you’re here and shave my head.” He said to change the subject. I flashed him a toothy smile.
“Sure, I’m here to serve you after all.” I said bowing respectfully but I looked back up at him. “You own my body and soul.” I said winking only to embarrass him even further. I had to stand up to dodge a flying pillow; I chuckled again.
“Stop that brat, you’re way too young to try to pull a move on me.” He warned. This time it was my time to blush. I hadn’t realised it but I have been flirting with him ever since I arrived him. I shook my head in attempt to shake the blush off my face. No way! I wasn’t trying to flirt with me, I’m only trying to tease him. It’s in my personality anyways to be so charming!
“Where’s your razor?” I asked to get my head off the matter.
“It’s it on top of the drawer.” He said pointing to the drawer in question. I went over and picked up the electric razor. “Get me my chair, please, I don’t want all these hair in my bed.” He asked and I nodded. I brought the wheel chair next to his bed. It was obviously not the first time he gets in it because he could practically do it by himself. As I expected even if he had trouble he refused any help I offered. I like his stubborn side, that’s what makes me want to come over as much as I can. Since he can’t use his legs he’s gain a lot of strength in his arm. Their surprisingly muscular, I wonder what it would fell like to be held by these strong arms. I blush at the thought.
“Are you thinking about something weird kid, your face is flushed?” He asked.
“Not at all.” I said shaking my head. “I just can’t help thinking about how cute you are.” I said with a grin.
“Stupid kid.” He muttered blushing. “Hurry up and shave my head, my hair grew too much now it looks stupid.” He ordered.
“Alright, alright. I’m getting to that.” I said plugging the razor. He’s right, his head does look funny, only some part have grown and other have remained bald. It didn’t take that long to shave about an inch of dark blond hair off. He watched me silently as I passed the broom to pick up the scattered hair.
“You do look better when your head is shaved.” I complimented.
“It’s only a matter of time before it all grows back evenly, until then I intend to keep it that way.” He explained. “What about you?” He asked.
“What about me?” I asked in confusion.
“You’re Japanese right? So why don’t you keep your hair black?” He asked. I looked at the tip of my light brown hair. I dye them because I don’t want to look like her, I can barely look at myself in the mirror because I resemble her too much. “I think it would look nicer with your pale skin and dark eyes.” He commented snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Maybe, but I think black is kind of boring.” I lied forcing a grin to my face, I wasn’t too comfortable when it came to that subject.
“Suit yourself.” He said crossing his arms. “So, what did you cook?” He asked.
“Oh right! I forgot about that! I made some Kare, it’s some beef stew with curry sauce and some rice.” I explained.
“Sounds better then the dull food I get here.” He pondered.
“I just have to go warm it up.” I said. I went to the nurse’s employee room to eat the meal; I also got some plates and cutlery from Xiao Xi. She said it was an excellent idea to bring him some homemade food.
“Do you like it?” I asked Gianni when he started eating.
“It’s not bad, it still not as good as Italian food thought.” He said. I shook my head in exasperation.
“You don’t give compliments do you?” I asked.
“No, I wouldn’t want you to think I enjoy having you around.” He said glaring at me but I found that the glare lacked seriousness; this man is trying too much to sound mean. I chuckled too myself. “There you go again thinking about weird stuff.” He said.
“I can’t help it. I enjoy spending time with you.” I said. “Next time I come I’ll bring you outside, some fresh air will do you some good.” I proposed.
“Don’t decide things like that on your own.” I growled but I just grinned at me. He sighed and shook his head. “Fine, we’ll go with that.” He finally accepted. I laughed cheerfully. Gianni is definitely not as severe as he’d like me to believe.
I was beaming Sunday morning when I woke up and the sun was peering brightly through my curtains. I’d be able to take Gianni out today, just like I planned. I grabbed a quick breakfast as I watched the weather channel. The Weatherman promised it would be sunny all day; however, the temperature had dropped to only four degrees. I’d have to dress warmly. I hoped the Italian had warmer cloths for outdoor activities.
In the hospital hallway I met with a very cheerful Xiao Xi. Now as I come here I try to avoid the doctor Abe when I come. The only thing he does is glare at me whenever we meet in the hallways. I don’t question Hibari’s cold attitude anymore, he’s identical to his father!
“Morning, Xiao Xi!” I said brightly.
“Good morning Tyler.” She said looking up from some paper work.
“How’s Gianni? Is he sleeping?” I asked.
“No, actually he’s been very energetic ever since Wednesday.” She observed. “He told me you’d be taking him outside today; I think he was pretty eager.” She added.
“Really? He sure didn’t act it when I told him the other day.” I said.
“Gianni can be cold but I think he enjoy your company.” She reassured me.
“I get that impression too, his mask slips sometimes.” I commented. She smiled.
“Please stay around the hospital with him, his injuries haven’t completely healed yet.” She warned me.
“Sure thing, I’ll be careful.” I said giving her a thumb up. I knocked on the door to his room. “Can I come in?” I asked.
“Don’t tell me you actually came back.” He said sarcastically. I smiled to myself and opened the door. He was already in his wheelchair; I think he was waiting for me to come.
“I told you I’d come back.” I said cheerfully. He was dressed in a warm sweater to go outside. My smile only widened.
“Like I promist since it’s nice outside I’m taking you outside today.” I said.
“Sure, whatever you want.” He groaned.
“Do you want to wear something on your head?” I asked.
“Is it that cold outside?” He asked.
“It’s not that bad but your head is just so…naked.” I said.
“I guess you’re right.” He said running his hand on his bald head. “Give me one of the bandanas on my dresser.” He said. On top of the dresser, he had a big collection of these bandanas, one of practically every colour. I pick one that was printed with colourful Manga-style foxes.
“That one is so cute, did you pick it yourself?” I asked teasingly.
“Not at all. It’s a gift.” He explained.
“Was it from your girlfriend?” I asked, I couldn’t help but frown at these words. Perhaps, I might be a little jealous at the thought. I didn’t want him to tell me it was from a girl.
“No, actually it was from my younger cousin. Unfortunately, I’ve been single ever since the accident. My girlfriend left me since she said it broke her heart to see me in this condition. If you want my opinion, she was a pretentious bitch.” He said. I almost sighed in relief. I’m starting to think that I might like Gianni more than in a friendly manner if I let myself be bothered by such trivial matters. I handed him the piece of fabric and he tied it around his head.
“Ready?” I asked; he nodded. He only wears a autumn jacket to go outside but that’s what most people wear in this kind if weather. However, I get cold more easily than most people so I wear a warm winter jacket and my gloves. I hate winter, that’s the only reason I’d move to another country. Canada is about one of the coldest you can get out there.
I push his wheelchair all the way to the hospital ward. There aren’t that many patients outside, it’s probably too cold for the sick people to go out. It’s a nice view out here, the maple trees have turn into its many colours. Red, orange and yellow leaves are dancing in the wind and fall around us. I still enjoy autumn even though it’s cold, it has all its distinct smell and colours.
I pushed him around for a good hour. Until the my fingers were so frozen I couldn’t feel them anymore. He was leaning in his chair with his eyes closed; he was enjoying the cool weather and the nice smell of fresh air. I talked to him endlessly but he just listened and nodded or shook his head at my questions.
“Are you cold?” I asked.
“No, it’s quite nice outside today. Thanks kid.” He said looking up at my with his olive eyes and rewarded me with a toothy smile. The beautiful exotic smile made my cheeks grow warm.
“You’re welcome.” I said smiling back at him shyly. For a moment I let go of the handles of the chair to rub me numb hands together. There were frozen so bad it was even painful to flex my fingers.
“Are you cold even with your gloves?” He asked frowning in curiosity.
“I have bad blood circulation so my tips freeze easily. I should have worn warmer gloves.” I said desperately trying to rub some heat into my fingers.
“Take your gloves off.” He ordered.
“I can’t, they’ll freeze even more.” I protested.
“Give me your hands.” He ordered glaring severely at my. I complied and removed my cotton gloves. I gave him me pale frozen hands. He took them in his warm and much bigger hands. He had the hands of a man, his fingers were long and his joints were thick, they could easily cover my small boyish ones.
“Your hands really are frozen.” He said rubbing my icy cold hand between his warm ones. He rubbed until my flesh regained some colour. I blush at his gentleness. Gianni really is a nice guy. “Better.” He asked once my hands were radiating in heat.
“Much better! Thank you!” I said grinning like an idiot.
“Come prepared next time, it was your idea after all.” He said giving me a friendly slap to the forehead. “Let’s head back inside before you freeze again.” He ordered. I nodded. Once we were back inside the warm room Xiao Xi brought us some lunch. Some warm soup and sandwiches.
“For how many weeks do you have to come. You’re doing this for community service right?” He said ass we ate in his room.
“Well, I’d like to come as long as it takes for you to recover.” I admitted.
“Do you have that many hours to do?” He asked.
“No, that’s not why I’d like to come for so long. I don’t think it would mean the same thing if I left half way through your recovery. I want to see you through this, I want to help you get over this obstacle Gianni.” I said determinedly.
“You’re willing to go that far with me kid?” He asked seriously. “Don’t get me wrong brat, I don’t need your help to recover, I was doing fine on my own.” He said harshly. I looked down a moment to think then looked back up at me.
“You thanked me earlier, which must mean you enjoy my company at least a little. You even smiled at me.” I argued. “Even if it’s the only thing I can give you at least let me do that for you!” I pleaded grabbing his hands.
“Fine, come all you want, you don’t have to cry over something so stupid. I guess I do appreciate what you do for me.” He confessed.
“Really?” I asked as my eyes brightened.
“You know what, forget what I just said.” He said looking away blushing but I ignored the comment.
“When I come next Sunday I’ll bring you something nice! How about I make some muffins? The ones I make are delicious you’ll see!” I said cheerfully.
“Sure, whatever you do is fine.” He said, he couldn’t suppress the smile that came to his lips.
“I’ll have to go now so you better take care until I come back again!” I exclaimed.
“Sure, take care of yourself brat.” He said.
“The name’s Tyler.” I repeated heading out the door. He’ll have to get my name right someday.
On Monday morning I noticed something interesting about one of my classmates. Now that I’m not busy playing all types of stupid pranks I’m much more aware of the people around me. I felt myself change a lot ever since I started seeing Gianni.
Today we practiced sprints and I noticed that the stuck up kid, Abe Hibari is actually pretty good at it. If I remember correctly he always gets the top score in our class. However, he’s not part of any sports team. He would be a good addition to any team but especially to our track team who hasn’t had any good sprinters for a while.
“Ne, Abe kun, you’re very good at sports.” I commented, he sat beside me but he tried to ignore me. “How come you never joined any sport teams?” I asked; he glared at me. Right, I almost forgot I wa talking to the ice prince by excellence. I think his own personal philosophy is ‘I don’t waste my time talking to others.
“I don’t have time to play such childish games. I’m working hard on my grades to become a doctor just like my father.” He said. I raised my knees up to my chest.
“Don’t you think it’s alright to have fun once in a while. You look like you’re having so much fun when you’re running.” I said laying my head on my crossed arms; I still look at him.
“Not everything is fun and games in life Ohba kun. Unlike you I have to work for my grades.” He said bitterly.
“Don’t be so harsh Abe kun, I do work for my grades. However, it’s not healthy to work all the time. You’ll grow up and become a cold old bastard and you’ll marry a woman you don’t even like.” I said smiling warmly at him.
“Are you making fun of me Ohba kun?” He asked seriously.
“No, it’s a warning, come have lunch with me sometime, you always sit alone, that can’t be healthy either.” I said before standing because the teacher had just called me.
On Wednesday I ate supper with Gianni and shaved him again, it became our weekly ritual. On the very next day I noticed someone else. He’s a shy boy that barely ever talks to anybody. I learned from a girl that he’s having a hard time at home. His parents seem to be on the verge of a divorce and it affects him a lot. I thought it was a good opportunity to approach him when the teacher announced a group project.
“Mind if I sit here?” I asked as I walked over to him.
“Sure, go ahead.” He said only looking at me for a moment before he went back to reading the handout the teacher had just passed.
“Your name, Seshiru, it’s a Japanese deformation of the French name Cecile right?” I observed. He looked up at me in surprised but he nodded. “It’s original.” I complimented giving him one of my best smiles.
“You really think so? My mom got it from my grandmother whom was also named Cecile.” He explained smiling brightly.
“Do you want to work with me on this project?” I asked.
“Yes. I’d be happy too!” He agreed. He seemed overjoyed by the little bit of attention I was giving him. The boy seems to have a nice personality; we won’t have trouble becoming good friends.
“Do you want to meet at lunch time?” I asked.
“I’m sorry, I can’t at lunch time, I already have an engagement. I’ve already promised I’d always eat with him.” He explained. I noticed before that he always goes out for lunch.
“That’s alright, I admire your loyalty. How about after school then?” I proposed.
“Sure that suits me.” He said nodding cheerfully.
“It’s a date then!” I said just before the lunch bell rang. Kishimoto had to leave to meet with his friend and when I arrived at my usual table Abe Hibari was sitting there looking up at me. I smiled.
“I signed up for the track team yesterday. They took me in immediately; they said I had a talent.” He explained.
“That’s so awesome!” I exclaimed. Hibari smiled shyly. “Come over to my place, we’ll celebrate.” I proposed.
“Sure.” He said. Hibari came over on Saturday, he was very shy and he didn’t talk that much. It was hilarious how he hid his shyness under his cold façade. He help me make a bunch of muffins while my dad and Isaac made the supper. My dad was happy to finally see me bring friends.
On Sunday morning I took the rest of the muffins and packed them to bring them over to the hospital with me. I did promised some to Gianni. When I arrived at the door of the Italian’s room I could a few different and noisy voices from inside. I knocked anyways.
“Who the hell is that again?” came the violent reply. I was taken aback, this sounded like Gianni’s voices. “I’m throwing that one out the window. I think I have to kill one for all the other’s to understand not to disturb us!” He added. I gulped.
“It’s not a nurse, let him in.” came another voice and this time I recognized it as Gianni’s. The door opened in a violent movement revealing…
“Gianni?” I couldn’t help but questioned. The man that stood before me was identical in every way to my patient. The only difference between them was that this one was wearing glasses, he was a little more tanned and he had a head full of chin length shaggy blond hair.
“Do I f**king look like Gianni, open your eyes, Gianni’s bald!” shouted the aggressive man pointing at my patient rudely.
“Haven’t you gotten used to it yet, everyone as the exact same reaction.” A girl with dark brown curly hair said. She seemed a year or two younger than me.
“Come in Tyler, don’t let them bother you.” Gianni said, he sounded more than annoyed. I obeyed and walked into the room. Apart from the two persons who talked to me there was also a younger boy, he had short light brown hair and a pair of large olive green eyes.
“These guys are my sister and brothers.” Gianni explained before I asked. “They decided to make a surprise visit. If they would have called before I would have told them not to come.” He growled glaring at his siblings.
“Not at all, I’m glad to meet your family, they must be so worried about you.” I said.
“More like bored as hell when I’m home alone.” The elder said, my patient just shook his head in defeat.
“I think you might have figured it out by now but this is my twin brother Andrea.” Gianni said pointing at the rude one.
“You never told me you had a twin, that gives us at least one thing in common. I have a twin sister as well and even though she’s a girl people still confuse us.” I said smiling at Andrea. He only groaned at me, I recognized Gianni in his action both of them don’t show their emotion so easily.
“I’m Lenore, I’m the only girl in the family.” The girl said cheerfully. She, at least, came up to me to shake my hand. “The youngest over there is Sakurai, he’s a shy little boy.” She said pointing at the little brunette.
“I’m glad I made a lot of food then.” I said looking down at my bag. I enjoyed spending the day with Gianni’s siblings, they’re loud but they’re definitely a lot of fun. When the brothers and sister made their goodbyes Gianni grabbed my arm to hold me back. When the door finally shut and both of us were left alone together he pulled me closer and started running his hand through my shoulder length hair. I blushed at the closeness, what gotten into him all of a sudden?
“You changed it.” He said playing with the tip of my hair. I had completely forgot about that! Friday night I was thinking back about what Gianni had said about my hair and decided to dye them back to their original colour.
“Yeah, I got tired of brown and I dye them back to black.” I lied.
“It looks good.” He said giving me a half smile. I blushed deep scarlet. For once he was the one teasing me and embarrassing me. He let my arm go and stopped playing through my hair. His hand reached out of my chin and he gently forced my head to turn toward him. He lays a light kiss on my lips. “Thanks for the treat. I know my siblings are not an easy bunch.” He apologized.
“It wasn’t a problem at all. I had fun with these guys. It changed of being alone together.” I said scratching the back of my head nervously. I was completely flushed, I could still feel the pleasant tingle of his lips on mine.
“Are you coming back on Wednesday?” He asked.
“Do you mind if I come here Tuesday instead since I have a project to work on with a friend Wednesday?” I asked. He raised one finger.
“There’s one condition. You must bring some more of these chocolate muffins.” He said seriously. My face broke in a bright grin.
“Of course.” I said. “Take care until then.” I added, he smiled gently and nodded. I almost rushed out of the room. The air in-between us was weird just now. I put a hand over my heart as I lean on the wall of the hallway. It wouldn’t stop pounding. I hurried back home.
“The more I spend time with him the more my heart pounds.” I explained to my father as we sat at the table drinking green tea. Do I have to say that I was as giddy as some kind of virgin school girl?
“It sounds to me like you’re in love with the Italian boy.” My father simply answered.
“In love.” I said dumbfound. There is no other explanation. It’s not normal to want to be with someone so bad. “I’m in love with Gianni.” I repeated to myself.
“I hope you let me meet this boy you love so much one day.” My father said putting his empty cup in the sink. I smiled to myself.
“I’m in love with Gianni.” I repeated once again. My father just shook his head and went to sit with Isaac in the living room.
I changed even more when I realised I was in love with Gianni. According to others I became someone pleasant to be around. I started to hang out with Hibari and Seshiru a lot more. Hibari got the record to both the 100 metres and the 50 metres. In April he’s be participating in a regional championship to represent our school. Seshiru became less and less shy around others. Once his parents separated he finally gained some confidence in himself and even invited me over to his house to meet his mom. As for me I became so popular alongside with Hibari that I was voted in the student council around mid-November.
Gianni commented that I was becoming increasingly radiant. I also began to visit him more frequently. When we’re together I constantly tease him and make him blush, I can’t get enough of seeing his flushed face. Around January I came almost every day to see him, I could talk about everything and anything with him and so could he. He barely ever kissed me again though and it frustrated me. I don’t know if I did something wrong or he feels like he made a mistake. However, now I can only get kisses on special occasions. He says I’m too young and we can’t have that kind of relationship. But that didn’t stop us from growing closer.
He opened up to me a lot. He even told me about the accident, as well as how his friend died. It was on the night of their prom night when both him and his friend got very drunk and attempted to drive back home. His friend had been driving when they crashed right in another car. His friend died on the hit as well as two teenage girls. Their father had to have both of his legs cut off and their uninjured mother fell into depression and committed suicide. Gianni always said he was the lucky one in the accident; he’s the one that got out in the best shape.
In the middle of January Gianni’s injuries were completely healed and he could finally go back home. However, he had to go to the hospital every week for a check up. As long as there were no feelings in his legs he couldn’t attempt any kind of therapy. Doctor Abe told him he’d never walk again but I kept trying to encourage Gianni that the Doctor was nothing but a stuck up prick. I always believed the Italian would be able to walk again.
I never wanted anything more in my life then to see Gianni walk again. I truly believed he could do it and I almost cried every time he went for a check up and the Doctor told him he didn’t have any feeling in his legs. The news was depressing to the Italian too. I can’t count the times I had to pick him off the floor because he had attempted to stand up.
One day in April especially marked me. When I came into his room he was sitting in his wheelchair crying. Not just crying but weeping, his desperation and pain made my heart clench. Even with everything he’s went through it’s the first time I ever saw him cry. I rushed over to him and sat on the bed beside his chair to be at eye level with him. I laid a hand on his shoulder to get his attention.
“Are you alright?” I asked.
“It’s you Tyler, I didn’t even hear you come in.” He said trying to whip the tears away but fresh ones only came back. This time his pride completely vanished and he allowed me to be close to him and to hold him. I held him as he cried, I would hold him for an eternity if he needed me to.
“Your pale, did you sleep?” I asked him running a hand through his dirty blond hair. By now they had grown evenly down to his ears.
“Not that much, I had to spend most of the night at the hospital.” He explained between muffled sobs.
“Are you alright? Does anything hurt?” I asked gently.
“It wasn’t for me. It was my younger cousin. They saved him but if that Kishimoto kid hadn’t found him when he did my cousin wouldn’t have made it through the night.” He explained, his cries became even more desperate as he tried to tell me the story. “When I saw him this morning he told me he wanted to die.” I frowned as he said that. “Tyler, the boy is only thirteen and he wants to die. I can’t even imagine how much he must hurt inside.” Almost shouted Gianni and his fist curled in the fabric of my shirt. The only thing I could do was rock him gently and rub his back in attempt to comfort him.
Gianni talked a lot about the boy I know he cares a lot for him. Apparently he’s a sickly frail boy who doesn’t show his emotion at all. He never laughs or never cries. Not even his parents know what’s going on in his head. I know Gianni always looked down on him like a older brother even though the boy is not even his real blood relative. He’s also the boy that gave him the foxes printed bandana.
“I always complain because they told me I might never walk again and it feels to me like the world is going to end. This boy, every time he saw a doctor in his life he was told he wouldn’t live to see another year but he always survives. Can you imagine how he must feel?” The Italian asked.
“Come on Gianni, you need to rest.” I said, I hoist him up to shift him to the bed. I’ve never seen him so vulnerable before, we laid down together all day as he held on to me. It was already dark by the time I finally got him to nap.
Gianni never really recovered from that shock. After that day, I began to have difficulty communicating with him, I could come over and he wouldn’t say a single word to me. He wouldn’t kiss me anymore. Sometimes he cried and other times he yelled at me. He practically became a shut in. I even tried bringing him some of the chocolate muffins he likes so much but even that wouldn’t make him smile.
However, even though it saddened me I kept coming just as often. I think it was around the time he needed me the most. By the end of April, I wanted to start going out again. The temperature grew warmer and the snow had melted away.
“Come on Gianni. How long as it been since you got out of your room?” I asked severely.
“Last time I saw the doctor.” He answered, his voice was muffled by the pillow.
“That was three weeks ago!” I exclaimed raising my hands in the air in desperation.
“I don’t give a damn, I like it here.” He argued.
“You can’t stay in here forever.” I coax taking the blankets of the bed.
“Why not, it would at least save you the trouble of taking me out.” He groan trying to take back the blankets.
“I thought you were stronger then that!” By now my voice had rose to a shout.
“Don’t give me that shit again.” He said finally lifting his head to glare at me.
“We’re going outside whether you like it or not.” I decided.
“Don’t decide things like that on your own!” He shouted.
“Stop acting like a child and tell me where your shoes are!” I shouted back. This was our heaviest argument yet, never before did we have to yell at each other.
“I’m not going!” He protested.
“Never mind, I found them!” I said picking up the discarded shoes. “Get up, you need to shave to!” I ordered. He clearly hadn’t shaved in days.
“Tyler, I don’t want to go.” He warned me trying to sound as severe as possible. I ignored him and started to put his shoes on. “Stop that Tyler it tickles!” He shouted angrily. I stopped abruptly what I was doing and looked back at him in disbelief.
“What did you just say?” I asked.
“It tickles.” He repeated slowly. A smile the size of Canada appeared on my face and I began to tickle his feet again.
“Does it still tickle?” I asked. A wide smile found its way to his face too.
“Yes it does!” He exclaimed.
“Do you know what that means?” I asked. He sat up on his bed and I swung my arms around his neck.
“The feeling is back in my legs, I’ll be able to walk again!” He exclaimed. He returned the hug. We were both so happy that we laughed and cried at the same time.
-
“After that Gianni began rehabilitation a few times a week. It was long and he could only make a little progress at a time but he never gave up. Every little bit of progress gave him the courage to go through more therapy.” Ohba explained proudly.
“Don’t talk about it like I’m a hero of some sort.” Gianni said crossing his arms over his chest. By then the king had drove back to the Italian’s house.
“It is an heroic tale, I’ve always admired you for how you came through.” Ohba said. I do agree with the king, Gianni is an impressive person. Ohba is pretty awesome himself, he as a personality that brings people together. That makes me wonder why a man such as him would need to cling to Kurorimi as well.
“Yuuri, do I drive you back to your place?” Ohba asked. I looked at the clock; it was already five thirty.
“Actually if you don’t mind dropping me off at the restaurant I work out it’s not that far.” I said.
“That’s not a problem, just tell me where it is.” He answered gallantly.
“It’s only two streets down.” I explained.
“You work at the Italian restaurant there right?” Gianni asked.
“Yeah.” I nodded.
“Remember we used to go eat there a lot just the two of us.” The king said smirking at the Italian making him blush. I think Ohba and Gianni make an odd couple even though they went through so much together. The Italian seems to be much too uncomfortable around Ohba and he also said they hadn’t seen each other in three years. Ohba acts like nothing happened but there must be a reason to why they’ve been separated for so long. Gianni seems just as confused as I am on the matter.
“Here you go Yuuri.” The king said once we arrived at the restaurant.
“Thanks for taking me.” I said grabbing my school back.
“Take care of yourself.” The redhead finally spoke. He had been keeping unusually calm during the whole trip. He didn’t attempt to anger me even once.
“Yeah, you too.” I answered, he cocked his head to the side gently.
“Thanks.” He said softly, only for me to hear. It seems like my simple words of encouragement were enough to make him feel better. I smile to myself.
“I’ll see you tomorrow.” I said before shutting the door of the black car. Ohba was right about one thing, Kuro does have some interesting family members. Gianni did want to bite my head off at first but he’s a nice guy. He’s also very perseverant, I admire that kind of people. Unlike him I’m a coward that tried to throw my life away I’d never become the kind of man Gianni is.

Next chapter I'm going back to my original story line for a bit but I really love this couple so expect to see them again. Beside, I didn't explain everything I wanted to explian about these two! The next chapter will probably be posted next week so check it out!
For now, tell me what you think!
