Chapter 9

You know, it'd be nice if someone told me that if i make a big mistake in the chapters, like i did last chapter (Three actually, and they all had to do with italics. The last one even cut the chapter in half :p)

You know, I don’t think we ever told Seth when to come over.

Blue was patient enough to say we’d wait, and that we’d better have been as good as friends as I said we were, or else she’d hunt him down herself and drag him with us.

I’m not sure how that popped up into our conversations, but it did.

I got talking to Devin while we waited. At first it was just because I was bored, but then I found out that he’d been traveling too, except across seas, and he was telling me about all the things he ate.

About had my mouth watering with some of the things he described.

I don’t know what a Garash cake is, but it sounds cool.

Around one, the doorbell rang, and I was about to go answer it, but Blue jumped up, and pushed me out of the way to the door. Bitch.

It was Seth. Apparently he didn’t know when he was supposed to come, either, so just decided he’d come at… some random… time.

Sorry, I was paying attention to when he was making excuses about the time. I was just happy to see him.

He didn’t look happy to see me.

Okay, he did, until he saw Devin, and then he didn’t look happy.

Blue ran off into the kitchen, saying she had to do something with Bailey, leaving me with the two of them.

Devin was all smiles, even going up to shake Seth’s hand, and introducing himself.

Of course, Seth looked ready to bite it off, but shook it any. Introduced himself as Seven, getting himself a weird look from me and Devin. At least until he corrected himself.

Oh yeah, real convincing.

“So, how’d you two meet?” Devin asked, apparently not getting the memo from Blue, which was amazing, considering he wasn’t the least bit surprised to know that we were going to be having one extra…

Is Devin coming with us?

It didn’t really cross my mind till now, but I thought it was just going to be me, Seth and Blue, probably Bailey too.

Damn it, it’ll give me less alone time with Seth then I’d have originally.

I need to get him alone to tell him to give me directions and keys to his hotel room. If all goes well, I might even be sneaking into his room by tonight.

I know, I know, I’ve been obsessing over it for like, forever, but sorry I really really wanted to.

“Jay?” There was a hand being waved in front of my face, and I… zoned in, I guess, to find that it was Devin, trying to get my attention.

“Yes?” I asked, confused. Were we talking about something?

“Nothing…” Devin trailed off, before going on, “I’m going to go see what’s keeping your sis.”

With that, it was just me and Seth alone.

Son of a fucking bitch.

Sorry, but I just had that ‘happy happy joy joy’ think start up in my head. Stupid disturbing cat cartoon.

“Where are you staying?” I asked the minute Devin left, looking up at Seth, who was looking to wherever Devin went off to. The kitchen.

He didn’t answer me at first, and I was about to repeat myself, along with saying that I didn’t want to have to repeat myself, or, well, that, but backwards, when Seth finally answered.

“Stay away from him.”

Huh, never heard of it.

“Why?” I asked, confused. Does he have a problem with everyone I meet? I mean seriously, first Bailey, then her brother.

What, do they smell bad or something? I didn’t think so…

Not like I had a chance to sniff them or anything.

Not like I would, anyway.

Well, if someone told me they smelled weird, then I’d want to see why, right?

I just had the urge to be retarded and say ‘or smell why.’

“Just do it.” He seemed even more serious about saying stay away from Devin then he did with Bailey, which was saying something.

“What’s up?” Now that I think about it, there are a few more things that I want to ask him, mainly the phone call yesterday in his car.

So I’m curious, sue me.

“Nothing.”

Well, that’s one way to get me pissed off. I decided to ignore both his request and his answer for now.

“Hotel. Key. Directions. Need them.” I practically begged, getting Seth to, well, not look as pissed as he was.

He looked around a minute, before spotting a notepad with a pencil near it- convenient much?- and started writing something down.

Next he walked to me, holding it out to me, along with something that looked a lot like a credit card. One of those swipy card things.

“When are you going to come?” He asked, getting close up in my personal space. Not that I minded.

“Tonight, if I can.” I answered, before he leaned down to give me a light kiss.

I was about to try and make it deeper, thinking I might be able to drag him into my room without the other’s noticing, when there was a loud bang coming from the kitchen door and a loud ‘Fuck!’

I jumped away quickly, mostly by reflex, and almost fell on my ass when I hit the side of the couch.

I glared at the door until it opened, and Blue walked in with a hand on her head and a sheepish grin.

“Missed the handle.” She said, whatever that meant. “Ready to go?”

I saw Bailey and Devin walk in after her, both laughing, and I nodded.

“Alrighty then. Devin’s driving.”

Apparently Devin didn’t know he was driving, but then again, who else? Blue only had her permit, and Bailey didn’t even have that. I doubted they trusted me to drive, and Seth wouldn’t know where to go, right?

Either way, Devin drove.

First, we planned on going to a restaurant. We all packed into his car, with Bailey sitting shotgun, me in the back middle, and Seth and Blue on either side.

Seth was pretty reluctant to get in, and I could see him trying to discreetly smell the place out. Or at least that was what he was trying to do. Maybe he just smelled something bad?

This felt like less of a sightseeing trip, and more of a friendly outing. Except I was nervous as hell.

At the restaurant, which smelled delicious, by the way, Bailey and Blue took up one side of the booth of the table we were going to be sitting in.

After Seth saw that, he gestured for Devin to go in first, which sort of made me mad, and then he sat down, discreetly patting down the spot beside him for me to sit.

But yeah, I’d be pissed if I didn’t have to go take a piss.

I blame breakfast. Blue gave me juice to drink, and juice goes right through me. So does pop.

And to the younguns out there, I meant soda. Not the genre.

I waited till we got our drinks, before happily getting up, cause I didn’t have to move the rest of the people in the booth to do it. Or crawl underneath the table to get out. I’d have done it, too.

When I was washing my hands afterwards, I got to thinking, this would be the time for Seth to join me to tell me some other deep dark secret about him, yeah?

The fact that the door opened when I just thought about it got my heart beating.

At first, yeah, I thought it was Seth, but it turned out to be Devin.

Who, of course, smiled at me, before going to wash his hands. The whole time, I just stared at him, thinking he’d be saying something to me. It’d be weird though, considering we were both in the boy’s bathroom, I think, and there was some thing about talking to other guys in the bathroom, right?

Something about them being gay. I don’t know.

Besides, we both were gay, right?

I was about to leave, when Devin did call out my name, much to my despair. What, was he going to tell me that he was a demon too? I have enough in my life, thank you very much.

Seriously, Seth’s all I need.

For some reason, that made me feel really corny, like those soap operas that Blue likes to watch.

“Yeah?” I stopped on my way out, thinking that I was about to have some sort of gay experience.

Now, I’m not saying I’m planning on coming on to Devin, or let him do things to me, it’s just the first thing that popped into my head after the demon deal.

“Your sister, said you’re gay, right?” Oh, god, I was right. There’s going to be a gay experience. Not the good kind, either.

“Maybe?” I wasn’t really sure how to answer him, but it didn’t seem like he minded my answer, because his smile only got bigger.

And not the stalker/creep/I’m-going-to-molest-you kind of smile. The, good-for-you kind of smile.

“You and Sven an item or something?” I almost nodded, before remembering, that no, I wasn’t supposed to do that, and shook my head.

Okay, weird. His smile just changed into the molesting kind of smile.

I was practically frozen when he started walking towards me, leaned in, and whispered “Good.”

I seriously contemplated trying to punch him in the stomach, or at least to scream rape, when he backed up, but not before squeezing my ass, then walked out the door.

I’m… not quite sure what the hell just happened…

I think… I’m just going to ignore that.

I went to wash my hands again, cause for some reason, it felt like I needed to.

When I walked back out, Blue and Bailey were giggling over something, Devin had a grin on his face, and Seth looked as pissed as he did earlier.

When I sat back down, he looked at me, looking suspicious, and I raised my eyebrow.

Again, I noticed sniffing, this time accompanied with clenching of fists, but Seth still kept his mouth shut.

I’ve decided, after the sexing, I’m going to make Seth tell me what his problem was. It was really starting to bug the hell out of me.

“What’re you going to order?” Blue asked, before handing me a menu, which I thought was stupid. How the hell would I know if I didn’t even know what the place had?

Steak. God yes.

My stomach started growling just looking at the pictures they had on the menu. Kind of reminded me of the thing they do at Sonics.

You know, where a waiter or whoever goes around outside on rollerblades, with a very delicious looking but very fake ice cream.

Evil manipulators, all of them.

The waitress that asked for drinks came by, and we all ordered. It was hard not to bounce in my seat while I waited for things to get cooked and all. I wish this was the kind of place that had a large sheet of paper for a table cloth, and you got to draw all over it. That’d keep me occupied for a few minutes.

And then make me want to go wash my hands again cause of the crayons. Even if I wasn’t eating with my hands, though I was bound to do so eventually.

We waited for about five minutes, and Seth seemed to cool off a bit, and even pressed his leg up against mine.

Fuck, he’s making me feel like a hormonal teenager.

I’d be even more pissed if I wasn’t. A hormonal teenager, I mean. At least then I could explain everything on the hormones.

Or I could just say, hey, I’m a teenager, and somehow that would explain everything.

Except for the fact that I would have probably enjoyed the groping the bathroom. Teenage hormones and all.

To make it clear, I didn’t.

But I can’t also say that I hated it. So don’t get the wrong idea. Hating would mean wanting to chop his hand off.

I just want to break a few fingers.
