Chapter 7 – Pay Back
Chapter 7 – Pay Back
The storm was heading in. It seemed like it was going to rain really hard. The clouds were moving in rabidly covering the sun. The summer heat was dying down as a cool breeze picked up.
(I better get home fast before it starts to rain. I hope Jess got home already.)
Two more blocks to go and he would be home. Lightning hit a tree and it could be heard from several miles away.
What he does not know was that he was being followed. From behind him, Rick pushed and shoved him. As he fell to the ground, he did not know what hit him and when he turned around he saw Rick and his friends.
“Rick? What was that for?” he was trying to get on his feet. “What do you want from me? I don’t have any money for you.” They used to be in a class together. Rick always bullied Alan and taking his lunch money.
“Haha, you’re very funny.” Rick grabbed Alan’s shirt and pulled him close to his face. “You nearly broke my jaw the other day. You think I will let you go off so easily?”
“Please don’t hurt me! I didn’t do anything.”
“So you are a whimp after all. What’s the matter huh? You were so tough in front of that girl and look at you now.” He punched Alan in the stomach bringing him to his knees. “Boys, take care of him.”
Upon Rick’s request, the two boys started punching, kicking stomping and beating on Alan. He was totally outnumbered and he was unable to defend himself. He even cried for help but the sound of the thundering skies overlapped his voice. Then it started to rain.
“Alright that’s enough. Let’s get out of here.” Rick commanded.
Alan was on laying on the sidewalk all beat up as the rain poured on him. He began to lose consciousness, but at least those guys were gone. The last thought in his head before fainting was..
(Jessica..)
Is he in any condition to think about her now?
