15 Hours Remaining

Chapter 9 – 15 Hours Remaining (11:00 PM)

“Ashe, there you are!” Sora cried, already with his third beer in his hand and growing more inebriated by the half hour. He could not remember ever feeling so light, and since when did his little brother insist that alcohol was a good way to relieve all tensions. His very serious younger brother, Link, had always seemed to believe that alcohol was the sins of the father and something most evil. Tonight he was passing drinks to Sora like they were going out of fashion, but of course the comparison did not work for Link. Link did not care about fashion unless it was his new girlfriend’s underwear.

“Sorry I’m late,” Ashe apologized. “I had to go back to the office for a couple of hours.” It was a blatant lie, but Sora would not even remember that he was late tomorrow, much less the lie he told about why. Ashe caught Shu’s eye and wanted to turn in the other direction when he noticed the man seemed to be waiting to speak to him. “Where’s the strippers?” Ashe asked, “I was promised strippers and I don’t think a bachelor party is a bachelor party without some innocent woman stripping down to nothing.”

“I have been saying the same thing since I got here.” It was Waza who reached Ashe first, before Ashe could take in the very large party of men that Sora was friends with, acquainted with, or only knew because of Rhapsody. Admirer’s wishing her groom-to-be luck though they were wishing to throw him from the penthouse balcony, perhaps saying that he fell down the waterfall that lead from the pool that was on part of the landing of the penthouse that lead to the pool below, the shallow end to keep people from doing just that. It worked, so far.

“Waza,” Ashe said as a hello, “I wish I could say it was good to see you, but that would make me a fucking liar, and I prefer not to lie.”

“Well cousin I’m not exactly thrilled to see you either, but you are the liveliest person at the party so far,” Waza admitted, looking about at his surroundings. There was the usual band of idiots, Sora, Waza, and Ashe included, but not limited to, as Shu, who was still pushing his way through the crowd, Link, and Darrke were all there. Taryn, Tiera’s boyfriend, had joined the ranks of the idiots in the past two years, along with a co-worker of Ashe’s, Thomas, and a man Sora had been acquainted with in the marines, Luke. The rest of the men were names and faces that Ashe knew he would never remember.

“Why did you bother coming?” Ashe snapped, unable to hold his tongue.

“Hey, hey,” Sora butted in, though his voice was slightly slurred and he did not carry as much authority as he usually did. It was sad how quickly the alcohol ran through his system, but he never drank and he should have known better than to down the alcohol so swiftly. Perhaps he had had more than the three beers Ashe had originally estimated. “He’s invited, just like you Ashe, don’t pick on him.”

“I’m just wondering why he is here,” Ashe said as nicely as he could, though it was not over Waza’s head that the remark was more pointed anger than anything else.

“I’m here to enjoy myself,” Waza commented just as Shu stepped up and caught up with the younger men. “Shu, how good to see you.”

“Hi Waza,” Shu said quickly and without pretense. “I need to speak with Ashe, do you mind if I steal him for a moment?”

“Just when the strippers are about to start?” Sora pointed to the stage, “you can’t do that to me! You need to watch with me, I need to make sure I behave myself.”

“Sora, I somehow can’t picture you not behaving yourself,” Shu said snidely, though the snicker in his voice was missed by the drunken groom.

It was a moment that all bachelor parties seemed to enjoy, three strippers stepped out and began behaving badly as the groom sat back and enjoyed, though none enjoyed less than Sora. The man seemed to be dreading his wedding day, which was not lost on any of them. Instead of being able to ask Sora what was up his butt Ashe kept being distracted by Shu trying to drag him off. He finally relented, quite begrudgingly, and stepped over to the man who seemed intent on spoiling the evening.

“I know Harmony is trying to get a hold of me,” Ashe finally told the other man, missing the big ending where the girls tore off their thongs and showed the men all of their private parts. Most men drooled and asked for favors that they never would have uttered if they were sober. “She called me earlier, and my next guess would be that she would try to send you next,” he continued. “I’m not interested in helping her, I give her enough, and now she wants more.”

“That’s not really what I wanted to talk to you about,” Shu explained breathlessly, “though I can’t deny she wanted me to talk to you. Look, I know we’ve had our differences,” a smirk from Ashe did not deter him from his speech, “but Ashe, I wanted to apologize.”

“Oh, for what?” Ashe had heard the apologies before, but they were from a very sorry Sora who had been unable to live with his earlier sins. He had turned into something of a nice boy since his drunken high school days when Harmony and Ashe had been ‘in love’ and now that Ashe had come back Sora was reminded of those wrongs. He had been the first, and only to thoroughly apologize, though Shu had tried to act as normal as possible for the last six years. “Are you finally going to apologize for leaving me for dead, twice, or are you going to apologize for coveting Rhapsody for so long? Why would you need to apologize to me?”

“I wanted to apologize to you because I know what happened between you and Rhapsody three years ago, that one time she had broken and bailed on her promises to not be with you again, and it was mostly my fault.”

“Outside.” Ashe stalked to the balcony, which was empty of guests, for the men were close to having and orgy with the three strippers, Sora at the bar ordering something he shouldn’t have been drinking, Waza there whispering in his ear. If Ashe had been in the right state of mind he would have known better than the leave the two of them alone. Sora always seemed to be unsuspecting when it came to the other man, despite the many definitions of his malevolence that had been shown thus far. “One, how did you know about that?” Ashe asked when they were outside. “And two, how could it have been your fault?”

Shu shifted from foot to foot, took a deep breath, and began to explain.

“Rhapsody, thanks for coming over,” Shu explained to the younger girl as she stepped through his apartment door and smiled at him. “I’m sorry to call you over, but as you know I’m trying to stay sober, and I thought having someone here would help me. I hate to call you out.”

“No, Shu, I commend you for what you are doing,” Rhapsody smiled and sat down on the couch, her perfectly white dress probably covered in dust from just a minute in that grungy apartment, and she did not even bat an eye. She sat down and looked as regal in his apartment as she would have on a throne in front of a royal court.

“Would you like something to drink?” Shu asked, stepping over to his small kitchen area.

“Sure, anything would be good,” Rhapsody smiled. “I brought a few movies over that I thought would help keep your mind on other things, though I’m sorry that most of my movies are romantic comedies, but I figured some of the violent ones would not be a help at this time.”

“Since most involve drug taking?”

“Exactly. Thank you.” Rhapsody accepted the drink gratefully and took a sip. She was unaware of what the drink was laced with and what it would do to her, she was unaware of Shu’s true intentions, and that he had no intention of staying sober that night. In fact he was already on something Waza had given him special for that night, and soon Rhapsody would be as well. Shu’s guilt earlier had been pushed back by the drug and now he felt nothing but need, need for the girl happily bringing over romantic comedies and trying to save him from falling down the black hole.

Shu sat beside her and listened to her talk about her favorite things about school and how she was glad to have Ashe back and his eyes zeroed in every time she took a sip of her drink. Every time her lips pursed his heart sped up a bit more. It was definitely causing her to lose her inhibitions about speaking. Shu could not remember ever hearing so much come out of her lips at one time. She had always been the shy quiet one in the corner and now she spoke to him, telling him things he never knew, and he did not know if it was the drugs or really her, but every time she said something more he wanted her more. When he reached out and touched her arms and felt her shiver under him he was barely able to resist plunging into her, but she was not ready, though it was happening fast.

Her eyes slowly began to glaze as he crawled over her, forgetting the movie on the side. Her body heated up under his hands and she only gave a small miniscule sound of protest when his hands found her breasts. For a moment conscious nagged at him; he was just like every other man who had had his way with her so far. He was forcing himself on her in a situation she had no control of, but no, he would not look at it that way. If she really did not want him she could easily say so. His mind was to addled with the drugs to know what was happening himself.

He kissed her neck, gripped her breasts; massaged her body with his hands and his body rubbing against hers. She responded by arching her back and allowing him more access to her. He moved his mouth lower, pushing her dress away and licking down her cleavage, taking in the generous mounds that reacted hurriedly to his grips. “Rhapsody,” he moaned her name so pleasantly and looked forward to the moment he would be sheathed inside of her.

“Shu…” she said breathlessly, but this was not a voice of want, this was a voice of reason. “Shu, something’s wrong with me…” And for a moment he panicked. Had the drugs hurt her? He sat up so fast his head began to swim as he looked down at her. His answer was clearly on her face. She was fine, healthy, just reacting to lust and need, all the drug’s doing, and even in the drugged up haze she knew it was wrong.

No, he would not allow that. “It’s all right sweetie,” he whispered hoarsely, cupping her cunt and rubbing against it. He felt her wetness drip through the silk and he could hardly contain himself as he toyed with her. “You are perfectly fine,” and he meant it in so many ways as he tore her panties from her body and began to shove and his jeans. She would be convinced if he could just push inside of her. In just a moment he would be inside of her, on the cusp of eternal oblivion and ecstasy, and yet it never came. He was so close, rimming the head around her, and she was back to forgetting those awful conscious thoughts that kept her from responding. The fist to the side of his head had him stopping, and losing his erection, quite quickly. He toppled to the floor and Rhapsody screamed out then curled into herself.

“What the fuck?” Shu screamed up at Mercedes as her foot went sailing at him and kicked him square in the chest. Now he could no longer breathe either and he felt himself choking. He coughed and forced the air back into his lungs, quite painfully.

“What the fuck? What the fuck?” Mercedes mimicked. “You asshole, I should be asking you that question.” She was gathering Rhapsody, who was appropriately disheveled. Mercedes was fighting, trying to rearrange the dress back around the girl’s body, but Rhapsody was slipping in and out of some lustful need and Mercedes was having a hard time controlling the girl’s sporadic movements.

“Rhapsody, you have to calm down,” Mercedes told her, gripping the girl tightly. Rhapsody was shaking her head, her knees shaking and knocking together. “Fuck, Shu, I’m going to kick your ass when I get back.”

“Where are you going?” Shu choked out, reaching out for both women and reaching nothing but air.

“I’m driving her home,” Mercedes spat.

“She can’t,” Shu felt his lungs collapsing, or at least that was how it felt, “she needs to… she needs release.”

“I’ll do it myself if I have to,” Mercedes sneered, “but I’m not allowing you anywhere near her.”

Mercedes rushed off with the younger girl in tow and practically shoved her into the passenger seat of her dinged up Spider, a car that had gone out of style almost as soon as it had come into style. If she was rich she would own a Mercedes, after her namesake, and a Porsche just to rub it into that bitch Portia’s face, that stupid who-

“Mercedes,” Rhapsody nearly moaned from the passenger seat of the car, writhing with her pain. “Mercedes, it aches.” Rhapsody did not have to tell Mercedes what it was.

Mercedes hated herself for what she was about to ask next, but she had come to the conclusion she had no other choice. “Rhapsody, is there anyone on this planet you would have no qualms about fucking?”

“Ashe,” Rhapsody said without hesitation.

Mercedes did not have time to think that she should be disgusted that this girl just said she would prefer to fuck her brother over any other man on the planet. She just wanted this girl somewhere safe, with someone she cared about, and as far away from Shu as possible. Somewhere her stomach gnawed at her and was angry that Shu had chased so greedily at this girl when he already had Portia, and more often than not, Mercedes herself. Instead he had gone after this girl who, as far as Mercedes had seen so far, was too good for that man.

Mercedes lead Rhapsody up to her house, where she soon discovered that Fuji and Amatsu were at a dinner party and had expected their two children to remain at home all evening, not to go out with creepy men who should be nowhere near them. Mercedes lead the girl to Ashe’s bedroom and opened the door, stepping around the corner and hoping he did not see her there, pushing the girl in.

“Rhapsody?” Ashe was wide awake and his eyes were perfectly on the girl in the white dress before him.

“Ashe… I need you.” It was the last that Mercedes could bear. She stepped back and away, knowing that Rhapsody was at least in good hands now that she was away from Shu.

“Mercedes told me the rest when she came home, that’s all I know, she pretty much kicked my ass throughly after that, but thanks to that I’ve been sober.” Shu gave off a small laugh, but Ashe was not even thinking straight.

He remembered the rest of the night perfectly.

“Ashe… I need you.” Rhapsody had stepped into the room, dressed in a flimsy white dress she never should have worn out, her eyes glazed over, her body already reacting. She walked forward and stepped to the bed. Ashe sat up straight and held out his hands for her. Not once could he even bother questioning why she was coming to him. All he knew, all his mind could think of, was that she was there and she was responding to him.

“Rhapsody,” he whispered hoarsely, his hands moving up her dress and pulling it over her head. She did not hesitate to reach down and pull his boxers, his only stitch of clothing, from his body. She laid him back on the bed and crawled over him, straddling him, her hands on his shoulders, his hands beneath her ass and propping her up so he could find her entrance. He slid in with an ease that was too perfect. She was wetter than she should have been with no foreplay, again he did not question it. He thrust into her and she immediately cried out in ecstasy, her voice a lustful echo in his ear. With every thrust he gave her she was crying out happily, meeting his thrusts with a swerve of her hips that no girl should know at her age. They melted together and he could not keep from gripping her tight, making sure she was completely real.

“Ashe!” she cried out loudly when she came, tightening her legs about his body, her head thrown back, the long strands of her hair brushing over his legs and testicles, and all he wanted was more. He did not stop as she shuddered, he did not stop as she was breathless, he kept moving her, rolling her so she was under him. He pulled her leg up so that it leaned on his shoulder and gave him more access, pushing himself further into her. She arched and cried out and tore his sheets with her perfectly manicured nails. Still he kept thrusting, filling her, enjoying the feel of her wetness and his hardness meshing together, thrust for hurried thrust.

She still grew wetter again and he turned her over till she was on her stomach. He had her on her knees, thrusting from behind, fucking her hard and fast, his fingers encircling her and toying with her clit. She moaned and screamed and met him thrust for thrust until he was nearly exhausted and pouring into her. She cried out and came again and still she needed more, her body hot, sweat dripping off of her. He licked her, he fingered her, he thrust again an hour later. He did everything he could to satisfy her sudden insatiable appetite until she finally fell over, breathless and quivering. She laid beside him and wrapped her arms around him, holding him tight, curling into him. “Ashe,” she whispered into the darkness, “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

The next morning Rhapsody announced to the breakfast table that she had accepted Sora’s offer and she was now going to be exclusively his.

“So she’s marrying Sora because she fucked me,” Ashe laughed whole heartedly. “Well isn’t that great. She’s so disgusted with wanting me most she ran to Sora.”

“What?”

Shu and Ashe looked up and should have seen the climax coming in this form. Why had they been so stupid? Before them, standing on the balcony’s terrace were the stars in the drama, the real stars: Sora and Waza.

“Ashe, is that true?” Sora asked swiftly.

“Sora…”

“Just tell me, Ashe. Did you two fuck like jack rabbits the night before she accepted me?”

Ashe sighed and could no longer lie. “Yes.”

To Ashe’s surprise Sora’s fist did not land directly on Ashe’s nose, nor even Shu’s gullet. The first of the marine, the trained muscle he had worked so hard on, landed directly on the side of Waza’s head.

Then came the horrid fall.
