Lust and Strife

"Strife! Lust! What do you two think you're doing?"

Makinna's flames erupted and she appeared before the two demons. These two were called demons of strife. They lusted after the more human emotions like lust, greed, jealousy and even strife. These demons always named themselves after their favorite one, in fact.

"Makinna!" Strife jumped back. He had a very nervous look on his face. "Whatever brings you here to the seventh gate?"

"Oh, hello." A rather husky voice came from behind her. It was Lust. "Don't you look delicious?"

"Cut it, Lust. You," She pointed at Strife, " stop with the innocent act. You're no good at it."

"Makinna!" Strife whined. "I know why you're here. Look, we just wanted to try and move up in the demon world. Is that so wrong?"

"No, it is not wrong." Makinna sighed and brushed her hair from her cheek. "You two have raised the suspicions of the king's elites! Do you know where I was just a few moments ago? I was being sent to warn the king about you two!"

"Ah!"

Both Lust and Strife screamed and cowered behind a boulder. Makinna shook her head. This was pathetic.

"Like a rock will hide you from him." She raised a finger towards it and the rock cracked into several pieces. "Now." She looked at the uncovered demons. "You will shut up and listen to me." She gave them a glare that would make even fledgling Entropy cower. Her dark eyes penetrated the very spirit.

"You two want something. You both want to become Entropy. All demons do. I can help you; however, I have a little problem that needs taken care of first." She looked at them. "You two will find a way to take care of this problem. After you do," she smiled and placed her hands on her hips, "I will help you."

"What can we do that you cannot? You are a more powerful demon than us." Strife spoke up. "You are one of King Zanhmere's elites."

"Which is WHY I cannot take care of the situation myself. That would mess things up for all of us if I did." Makinna raised a brow at the two. Her wings folded neatly behind her back. "My problem, and every other demon female's problem, is Trinity." She snarled. "Master's little human pet."

"Oh..." Lust blinked. "Isn't she the one that he protects? Your sister, Fiona , got sent away to the thirteenth gate for messing with her!"

Both Strife and Lust shuddered. This was not an easy task that she asked of them. Makinna nodded nonchalantly. The two's jaws fell to the floor in shock. She didn't care!? Didn't she know how hard of a task this was!?

"Makinna." Strife took a deep breath and released. "I am not totally sure you understand what you are saying we need to do." He moved from behind the broken boulder pieces. "Let's just say we did manage to get rid of the girl, just say we did. There is still the problem that WE did it. What would King Zanhmere do to us if he found out!? We can't do this."

"You silly demon." Makinna stepped closer. Her fingers ran along his cheek softly. Strife started to purr under her caresses. "Have someone else do it. Have someone that you control take care of it. Do I have to think of everything?"

"Where is the girl?" Lust spoke up. Strife was still too dumb struck by her petting to answer. "Right at this moment, where is the girl?"

"She is riding with the master in the human's world. They are riding towards the northern mountain." She smirked. "You have 'friends' there as I recall."

"The Dark Pixi's." Strife pulled away looking like he'd just had an orgasm. "Mmm hmm… Dark Pixi's hold allegiance to few. Each one is almost as strong as Zanhmere himself."

"You're suggesting that we should bribe the Dark Pixi Kin to attack Zanhmere and his pet?" Lust blinked. "That is insane!"

"No! I am not saying attack Zanhmere." She grunted. "I am saying have them wait until he lets his little pet go play and then have them attack the girl while she is alone. Zanhmere could easily take out the Pixi kin if he was there. They may be almost as strong but they aren't as strong. He holds greater powers than you think."

"If we do this..." Strife looked at her. "You can make us Entropy?"

"I can." Makinna smiled. "I can make you fledgling Entropy's and tell his majesty that you earned the position as a reward for helping me on some elite task."

"I want more." Lust spoke up. "If we help you do this I want more than just to become an Entropy."

"And just what is it that you want?" Makinna looked between the two. "Hm?"

"You." Lust licked his lips. "You become our demon mate."

"Our?" Strife blinked. "Oh! Hey that doesn't sound too bad."

"Your demon mate?" She started to laugh. Both demons cringed and found themselves against the wall of their cave. Makinna's hand was outstretched and pointed at them. "You will do this and you will not fail. You will not have me either. Do you want to know why you will do this?"

"Makinna." Strife gasped for air. "Stop please."

"Okay! Okay!" Lust was thrashing against her invisible hold. "Let us go!"

"I think I need to explain a few little things first!" She stepped closer. "You will do this because I told you to. If you don't, I can always turn you both in to Mayven. He is Zanhmere's newest elite loyalist. He serves the master without question. Need I remind you what a loyal Entropy would do to a couple of usurpers like you two?"

"We could tell them about you!" Lust growled. "They would know you're plotting to kill Zanhmere's favorite little pet."

"They wouldn't believe you. Unlike you gentlemen." She dropped her hand. The two fell to the floor roughly. "I have proven myself enough that I appear to be a loyalist myself."

"You are evil, Makinna." Strife rubbed his throat. "How can you, even as a demon, live with your self?"

"Easy." she looked at his gray colored face. His two black horns protruded from his forehead and curved up like a rams horns. "I simply do not care. I am not as unfortunate as you. I do not suffer the burden of emotions. You demons are punished with knowing them. That is where we are different."

"Fine." Lust growled lowly at her. "We will take care of it. You better keep your end of this bargain, however. If you do not, then you will become our demon play thing while we still have hell's air to breath!"

"Very well." She sighed and brought her talon up to her wrist. She marked an X in blood on her wrist. "Happy?"

"Yes." Both Strife and Lust answered.

Suddenly, both demons started to tremble. The two demons bodies started too convulse. The pale gray colored skins of these demons started to change. They joined as one demon. He was a large massive beast at least four times the size of Makinna. This was the He that the elite sent her to take care of. Mayven just didn't know that he was a 'they', and that they served her in a way.

"Go on." She looked at the black skinned creature. "Go and talk to your friends." Makinna waved again and the large demon flamed away. She sighed and idly started to manicure her Talons now. "Men." She chuckled. "I always have to think of everything." She smirked. "Soon though, I will be a queen. Those two will learn the meaning of pain when I become Zanhmere's mate."

Her form flamed away. She was going back now to report to Mayven. She hated loyalist demons but she had to deal with them. Mayven earned a spot ahead of the others quickly because of his loyalty to serve.

"Makinna?" Mayven saw her appear. "You are back so soon? Did you tell the master?"

"We don't need to bother Master with such trivial things. I took care of him myself." She smiled. "Now , did you take care of your things?"

"That is none of your concern."

"Oh come on. Don't be so sour." Makinna slid up beside him and rubbed her hand along his bare chest. He wasn't in his human form right now. He resembled a smaller form of Zanhmere. "You should learn to relax."

"I will relax when I know you have done what I said." He grabbed her wrist. "What did you do to take care of the seventh level?"

"I showed him the power of an Entropy." She growled. "He won't try that mistake again. I guarantee it."

"You better hope so. Or I will personally carve wing covers from your skin." He threw her back. She landed roughly against the ground. "And next time don't try your seductions on me. They will not work."

"Don't be such a hard case!"

She snarled and leapt at him. Makinna lashed her claws out at him. Mayven turned and grabbed her wrist. She met with his cold steel blue eyes. She panted and hung there before him. Mayven smirked and tossed her away.

"Sorry Makinna. I am not interested in you as a mate. You can try your mating charms on someone else. Go and check on the pit fiends. I have things to do."

Mayven waved her off. She flamed away, by his doings, before she could even speak. He shook his head as he thought about her. She was an aspiring demon. She was also attractive to even an Entropy, yet there was something else about her. His gut instincts said don't trust her.

"I will have to talk to Master about her." Mayven spoke quietly. "He will know."

Mayven turned and walked off to go tend his specific duties. The life of a demon was not just all kill, fun, and kill. This was a working kingdom that had its own working parts. Each one needed to be tended and taken care of daily, just like human kingdom might. It was just too bad that Makinna didn't seem to understand this.

In the world above, Zanhmere let his horse rest in a small valley. They rode for a long time towards the mountain. Trinity was asleep and was using his lap as a pillow. He would spend the next few days up here with her. He promised her a trip to the mountain so he would take her. He could have just used his powers and got them there quickly but he would lose the time with her if he did.

"Trinity?" He looked at her. The sun was almost down again. Her 'day', according to her body's sleep schedule was coming. "Wake up. You will miss this."

"Master?" She yawned and hugged against him. "Are we closer to the mountain?"

"Yes, we are."

She sat up slowly and stretched. The cloak fell from around her shoulders and around her. Zanhmere chuckled at her. He straightened a few stray hairs for her. "Look over there."

"Oh pretty." Trinity gasped. The mountain was much closer now. The sun was just going down as well. It was slowly fading away behind the large piece of Earth. The whole sky was turning different shades of red, darker blues and black. The stars were even starting to twinkle above in the sky.

"Just another day or so, and we will be at the mountain pass. I will take you all the way up into the snow covered tops if you want."

"Oh I do!"

"Here." He held out a wrapped package to her. "There is food inside for you. Eat and then we can go again."

"Thank you, Master." She giggled. "I am very happy."

The snow topped mountain was very cold. Most people were wrapped in heavy furs up along this pass. There were two that were not however. They had on pants, boots and no shirt. They looked like twins. Their hair was rust colored and their eyes were copper. They were Lust and Strife.

"Lust? Are you sure they are going to be in the valley pass right now?"

"Yes, Strife. Come on. We have to talk to them before Zanhmere gets here. He is riding fast. At this rate he will be here by tomorrow morning."

"We have time. He will stop and let his little pet rest." Strife shook his head. "Why are we afraid of a demon that dotes on a human like that?"

"Because he is powerful and we both know he can kill us with a thought!" Lust looked at him. "Now come on. We have to find Zara."

"I really don't like her."

"Strife, will you calm down? She is the Dark Pixi's queen, and she owes me a favor. We won't be attacked."

"Right. You do know what they are capable of, right?" Strife didn't like Dark Pixi's because of their abilities. They were two inches tall, had powers that were comparable to Zanhmere and they had numbers in the thousands. Makinna knew this. Everyone knew what they could do. Zanhmere did not fear them. He was one of few people that could out power a Dark Pixi. There were a couple others but they lived way below, on the thirteenth level.

"You worry too much. Maybe you should have chosen that for your name. Worry, the demon." Lust walked along, pulling Strife with him. "We are almost there."

"You better hope she is in a good mood."

"Zara always enjoys seeing me." Lust looked at him. "Unlike you, I can provide her with things that she thoroughly enjoys."

"Never mind!" Strife didn't want to hear about it. "Let's just go."

The two walked off into the snow covered valley pass. There was a dead grove of trees ahead of them. This grove housed the Dark Pixi's. It was here that they would work on finishing their bargain with Makinna.

"Zara!" Lust called out to her.

At first, nothing happened. The trees were still and a very unnerving silence was all around them. Strife panted and scooted closer to Lust. He thought his brother too calm. He jumped at the sound of a soft giggle. More giggles joined them. Lust smirked and waited.

An explosion of dark colors happened around them. Dark Pixi's of reds, blues, purples and all other sorts of colors started to flutter around them quickly. When one brushed past Strife, he cringed. These cute little creatures were enough to scare even a fledgling Entropy! Of course he was nervous!

"Lust!" A small voice made the Pixi's part and settle around them. "Don't just stand out there. Come into my layer."

The two demons walked through the hundreds of little Pixi's that were surrounding them. Strife grunted and couldn't help but to recant an old saying as they entered an opening door way into the trees.

"Said the spider to the fly."
