Dark Seducer
Chapter Nine
Louis walked over to the large door and moved his finger over it slowly. “I cant believe you brought me here…” He said as he glanced over his shoulder at Mirage. “Do you have any idea what this means to me?”
“I know.” The older vampire said as he walked over to Louis and put his hand gently on the blonde’s shoulder. “He took you from here… So I brought you back.” He answered as he watched the younger vampire move his hand over the door handle.
“Has it really been five years since I’ve been here?” Louis asked not taking his eyes from the door.
“Time goes by faster for us, but yes it has been…” The red haired vampire moved his hand over the younger male’s arm. “Do you want to be alone?”
“Please?” Louis said as he turned towards Mirage and leaned against the door. “If you don’t mind that is…”
“Hey, if you want to be alone that is fine with me. I’ll come back for you alright?” Mirage said as he walked down the steps.
“Mirage…” Louis said as he looked at the older vampire, his eyes blood shot and almost in tears. “Thank you so much for bring me here…”
The dark haired vampire smiled. “No problem Louis.”
Louis watched as Mirage got back in the carriage and rode away before he knocked softly on the door. Within a few seconds the door opened and a man in his early thirties stood in the door way.
“Louis?” He said faintly.
“Hello Khristopher…” Louis answered looking at his older brother.
“Oh my god, where have you been?” The brunette said as he wrapped his arms around the blond. “Everyone thought you were dead.”
‘But I am…” Louis thought to himself as he looked at his brother. “I’ve missed you.”
“As have I.” Khristopher said as took Louis’ hands in his. “I thought for a fact that I’d never see you again and here you are…”
“I know.” Louis answered as he walked inside of the house.
Khristopher studied Louis for a few short moments, then looked into his eyes. “You haven’t changed at all since I last saw you.”
“You have.” The blond answered as he watched his brother look him up and down.
“Yes I know…” He answered with a smile. “Where have you been all these years?” Khristopher asked as he led Louis into the living room. “I mean, it has been five years.”
“I’ve been in Paris…”Louis answered as he sat down on the couch beside his brother.
“Paris? Really? For what if you don’t mind me asking?” The brunette asked as he propped his head on his hand. “You never wanted to go to Paris before… All those times I would go and I’d ask you if you wanted to come along and you always refused.”
“I just changed my mind.” Louis said as he looked at Khristopher trying to sound convincing to him.
“And you obviously liked it there other wise you wouldn’t have stayed for such a long time.” The older male said with a smile.
“It’s a very different place than here in Cathevas.” Louis said leaning back on the couch.
“Well of course, you’re from a small town, Paris is a huge city.”
“Indeed it is.”
“So, are you married?” Khristopher asked. “Have you finally settled down or are you still the way you were before? Depressed about Zaphara?”
“I think about her every day…” Louis answered looking down at his hands. “I keep thinking that it is my fault she is gone…”
“There was nothing you could do to save her and you know it.” Khristopher said as he wrapped his arms around his younger brother. “Don’t blame yourself for something you had no control over.”
“I know…” Louis breathed. “But I still think about it all the time.”
“How long are you staying? Or are you going to stay here forever now?” Khristopher asked, still holding his brother in his arms.
“I’m only staying a day, maybe two.”
“Why not longer?” The brunette asked. “You just got here and it’s been so long since I’ve seen you… What if I never see you again Louis?”
“Why do you think such things?” Louis asked as he pulled away from Khristopher. “I will come back, but I can’t stay here. There are too many memories in this house.”
“So there’s no way of getting you to stay?” The brunette asked as his eyes filled with tears. “I’ve had to go thought he last five years believing you were dead and now I find out that you’re alive and you’re just gonna leave again?”
Louis stood up and kissed Khristopher on the cheek. “ Good bye Khristopher…” He said softly as he walked back towards the front door.
“Louis, wait!” The brunette said as he stood up, but Louis had already walked outside.

Louis walked slowly down the near empty streets of Cathevas. His near shoulder length blond hair fell into his eyes as he walked down a dark alley. When he came to the dead end, he placed his hand gently against the cold brick wall where there were a few spots of blood…. His blood. This was the place where he first met Khristian, he slowly sat down leaning his back hard against the wall and closed his eyes.
‘Why am I thinking so much about Khristian?’ He thought to himself as he listened to the beautiful sounds of the night. ‘This can’t be happening… Am I in love with Khristian?’ he opened his eyes and looked down into the dark alley. ‘No, there’s no way I can be in love with him… after everything he did. I love Mirage… not Khristian…’
He closed his eyes again, bringing his knees up to his chest and he leaned his head back against the wall. There were so many things going through his head at the moment. Even if he was in love with Khristian there was nothing he could do now… Khristian was dead, he killed him.
Louis stayed where he was for about an hour, it was getting late now… sun rise would be in two hours but he couldn’t move. He could feel tears sliding down his cold, pale face. Then a some-what warm hand gently brushed the tears away.
“What’s wrong Louis… Why are you crying?”
The blond opened his eyes “K-Khristian?” Khristian was knelling down beside him, gently brushing the strands of blond hair away from Louis’ face. “I thought you- I thought I killed you…”
“It’s not that simple to kill a vampire…”
