Chapter 9
CHAPTER NINE
The group made its way along watching everything that moved. They had no idea how big the snakes were or anything but they would fight if need arose. Kyle shifted Marcus and looked at the other's. "We're getting close to the cars." He said to them. He was hoping that it would help them through this. Then they all heard something moving through the grass. They froze trying to locate it but the grass was high.
Suddenly the snake reared up huge and it looked like it could easily be 20 feet long. It coiled itself ready to strike it's tongue flickered out of it's mouth sensing them. Kyle looked at the rest one man was watching in total fear and Kyle looked at Marcus glad that he was unconscious. He began to edge away from the snake and the other's looked at him. Kyle was watching the snake though and it flicked out it's tongue again. When it struck it struck fast it's fangs appearing as it opened it's mouth hissing. The people but for one dived out of the way. The man who was bit stood there in shock and looked at the puncher wounds in his stomach. He then collapsed as the poison quickly spread through his body.
Kyle immediately took of running the best he could with Marcus in his arms. The other's ran after him as well they saw the cars and rushed towards them only to come to a halt as something stepped out of hiding. "You shall all die at my hands you have ruined my plans." He said looking at Marcus and then Kyle. "YOu two will become part of this place for ever." It laughed and began to change it's shape into a tall evil looking demon. It moved towards the group that backed up. Kyle looked at the creature. He wouldn't allow anything to happen to his brother.
"I will never allow you to hurt my brother or make him part of this evil place." he said. "I'll fight til the death if need be but I'll bring you down!" He growled out. He set Marcus down and stood protectively over him. The creature laughed at that and moved forward again. It was weaker outside the house but still a human was no match for it. It lashed out at Kyle and caught him in the chest sending him backwards. The other's gasped at that and watched as Kyle struggled to his feet again. He rushed to protect his brother again.
The creature looked at Kyle for a while. "Your stubborn human your no match for me!" He laughed. "I will have him in the end anyways even if I have to kill you." he said. It looked back at the house and suddenly charged Kyle again. It's claws lashed out catching Kyle again this time the man had been ready for it but it still cut him shredding his shirt. Kyle hissed in pain but held his ground. Marcus suddenly began to regain consciousness and Kyle looked at him. The creature attacked then ready to finish Kyle off.
One of the men slammed into the creature knocking it away from Kyle and then he backed away. They couldn't just stand there and do nothing as Kyle got killed. The man went and stood by Kyle to give the man time to check on Marcus. "Check on him." he said "I'll try to hold him off." he said and soon the remaining people moved to help out as well. Kyle knelt and looked at Marcus who's eyes finally opened up all the way.
"Hey how you feeling?" He asked his little brother. Marcus looked at him and smiled weakly at him. Kyle smiled back but knew they didn't have much time to enjoy the reunion. Marcus watched the creature and then looked at Kyle. His eyes wide with fear. "I won't let him hurt you." He said. "I'll fight to the death if need be." He said
Marcus looked at him for a while and shook his head. He couldn't move but his eyes went to the house. "They can't live without the house." He said weakly. "It's the house that is creating these things." Marcus looked at Kyle to see if he understood. Kyle nodded and looked at the house. He stood up and smiled at Marcus.
"Thanks little brother." He said. and looked at the creature who was attacking the other's sending them flying. Kyle stood there over Marcus he wouldn't budge at the moment. He watched the other's get up but they were all hurting. Kyle's stomach and chest were torn pretty bad but he was more worried about MArcus. "Hey you ugly mother why don't you try me." he said. The creature turned to glare at him and went at him again. Kyle ducked the blow and tackled the creature to knock him back. He turned to the other's who rushed up. "The house we got to destroy the house." He said to them quietly. The group nodded they understood. They looked at the house and two of them rushed towards it they both were smoker's and thought they could take care of it.
As they approached the house the creature screamed in rage and went to go after them. Kyle and the girl both attacked the creature in hopes to give them time. There was a loud cry that seemed to explode inside their heads. They clenched their ears and nearly went down at the sound. The other two had nearly fallen over in pain from the noise but continued to fight to get the house destroyed. They finally reached it and looked at some of the dried up wood around. They gathered some and set it against the house. They began to frantically work at making a fire.
Kyle watched the creature charge at them and suddenly Marcus rolled into it's way tripping it up. Kyle saw his brother panting from the effort it took and rushed to him grabbing him just as the creature swung at him. It bellowed in rage as the fire started. It turned on them and slashed at them wanting to kill them even as the house screamed. The men were now running back towards them trying to block out the sound.
