Koln is giggle-worthy at times. Anyways. Cookie for Suryallee again. Though I thought you were saying Violet was the partner's name XD. I think maybe Mik is bad for Koln's stress level. Any time he goes in and flops into the seat across from Koln, he always ends up getting the man all riled up. This morning my spelling has been terrible, I seem to want to add unnecessary letters or misspell words entirely, which is why this one took two hours despite the simplicity of it. Read, Review and enjoy.Mik slid into the seat across from Koln and sighed. The man blinked at Mik over the reading glasses he wore, then sighed himself and set the glasses to the side. The other man raised his eyebrows and gave Mik his full attention. “I was manipulated into claiming Lillow last night.”“Whoa. Claiming, she’s a bit young-”“As a parent, claiming as a parent, apparently it happens when an orphan is found in the group. A pair will lay claim on the child. Which makes no sense as they say it takes a tribe to raise a child. But I, in my stupidity, did it.” Mik muttered through clenched teeth, “nothing is more frightening than having sex and finishing and realising that a prepubescent teen not only watched you, but has pointers and questions.”Koln snorted.“No, no, you do not get to laugh, mister,” Mik jabbed a finger at Koln, “you. You, I’m going to yank into the tribe so you can have highly pleasant but embarrassing sex.”“Souse will not accept anyone else into his tribe,” Koln muttered, “not people, anyway. And there is no Sidhe blood in me.”“Uhhuh. What do you wanna bet, I can get Souse to jump your bones.”“That is not funny Mik.”“I’m not being funny, Koln,” Mik growled, “I found something out last night that was disturbing only because the words were coming out of the mouth of a pre-teen.”“What is that?”“Sidhe have sex for pleasure. If a child results, then all the better. But males, apparently, can be forced into it, for the conception of a child. So… even though all they were doing, Paw and Essuan and Souse, was trying to conceive a child, Paw still had to pleasure Essuan.”Koln grimaced, “Hence how unhappy he was, being forced to make a child and then not enjoying himself. Oh wait. That is a very necessary thing for a male to do, to make a child. Enjoy himself.”“Bear with the thought that Sidhe aren’t people and apparently males derive pleasure from causing pleasure where and how they please.”“So. A delinquent would be someone who runs around pleasuring everyone randomly?”Mik shrugged, “There’s a male in the tribe that might or might not be handed over to the females because he has been taking advantage of a female. I think the female in question is the other pregnant one. As there was talk of some kind of obviousness to the fact that he could conceive. Unless of course the male is pregnant, in which case that’s a whole lot of strange.”“I doubt the male is pregnant. Speaking of males doing stupid things, what exactly did you tell Galt?”“Stuff,” Mik muttered“Stuff? Stuff that would result in me being slammed against a wall, stuff?” Koln muttered, adjusting in his seat, “I hadn’t told him about the nightmares, about the possible power the Sidhe may or may not have. May or may not, Mik, I’m lying through my teeth to try to keep them from upping the tests and trying something stupid. This is the military, what the fuck do you think they’ll do if they find out that Paw can walk into another’s mind, or that Souse can control the flow of history or that Essuan might not just be a healer because she’s good with herbal remedies?”Mik looked down at his hands sitting in his lap, and felt badly, but he still forced himself to say what he thought was stupid to say, “how was I to know that you hadn’t told them? I assumed that everything I tell you goes higher up, especially that kind of information. At least. I didn’t tell him Paw was a candidate…”“He’s talking about bringing in someone else to run the program. Because I’m in too deep.”“The day they take the program from you is the day Souse throws a fit,” Mik responded, “or ass rapes you. I think I’d pay to see that, you dominated by a male.”“Mik. This isn’t a time for joking,” Koln snapped, standing stiffly from his chair, “so why are you doing it?”“I don’t know,” Mik murmured, “but. Really. While Galt has seemingly been nothing but supportive, how can you be surprised that he’s looking to boot you from program head? And if he wants to, to find out if the Sidhe have power or not… it won’t work. What little evidence we have, we’ve taken on faith that this is real evidence and not just coincidence. None of them can move things. None of them can change an item from one state to another. There’s no hard, obvious evidence that the Sidhe have power and once word got out, which it would, that Galt is looking for their powers to use for military purposes, there won’t even be Sidhe. Or if there are, not a hint of power. We know because we were told. “It’s… like how a blind man knows the sky is blue because he has been told. If he hadn’t been told, he wouldn’t have known. And he still doesn’t know what constitutes as blue so when he’s told a lake looks the same colour blue as the sky, he takes it on faith. What the hell am I trying to say? I seem to have lost the point…”“If Galt wants something, he will get it Mik. He can and does ruthlessly push in every other aspect of the military to get what he wants. He has been surprisingly gentle with the Sidhe. Is it because Galt thinks of them as puppies, or does he have a different agenda? To harness the powers of the Sidhe, which have long been written of in myth and legend, to be able to use the destruction to his own advantage and what advantage is that?”“He hasn’t joined us on the old time field, like the partners. He stays carefully away from the tree. He seems disturbed by the idea that the tree might absorb the emotions of those around it,” Mik shrugged.“It’s been a while since Paw and yourself have taken to the field,” Koln pointed out, “Your mother has noted your absence. Jay has even taken to the field. He seemed to be surprised to find the Sidhe allowing people to wander the field. Though he obviously approved of your mother without … publicly approving. The men have commented on how the investor is constantly flirting with her, but not stepping over that line. Perhaps you can speak to them of bringing their relationship public. The men would assume only that Jay finally took the step.”“I will consider it.”“Like running a court, in the olden times,” Koln muttered, “With military men I can tell them how to act, but this is a sudden balance of emotion and necessity. The need for allies. How do you do it?”“Do what?”“Balance your alliance with Paw to your need to obey the military?”“Balance?” Mik snorted, “there is no balance, Koln, it’s a fluid dance that plays out every day amongst the Sidhe. Dominance and power compared to rank mingled with breeding. All I can do is stumble through. Souse might understand on some level how to do the dance, but he’s been tormented by people so long that he doesn’t trust his own instincts. Paw can dance it perfectly. But I don’t now if that’s Paw, or if that’s all wild Sidhe, as Souse calls Paw.”“So you honestly have no idea?”“None.”“And… do you happen to know why the personal computer in your room has been used multiple times on forums that are pro-Sidhe, supporting literature on Sidhe and on several sites as the administrator of several petitions?”Mik chewed his upper lip for a long moment before saying, “Paw said he may have manipulated just a little bit. I never looked into it.”“Little bit? Pro-Sidhe groups have risen twenty percent in the past month, there are boycotts on Sidhe run technology, as it’s being called now, and trade with Valease has come to a near stand still because most of what they send us is Sidhe run. There are program popping up all over the nation, attempting to gain private rights to a term called ‘adopt-a-Sidhe’ which have all been turned down because of possible malicious intents.“Four movies have been created because Paw may or may not have told the writers exactly what to write, all portraying Sidhe in a positive light. He’s ghost writing the Sidhe into people’s good favour. That is not a little bit.”Mik shrugged, “He’s not waiting around for people to turn in favour of Sidhe naturally. Maybe he knows something we don’t.”“Maybe.” Koln put his reading glasses back on and turned back to his paperwork.“Going to show me how to do paperwork today?”“Yes, I’ll talk to Galt about putting you guys into a larger apartment. Talk to Taln about it as well.”“Taln… oh. Uhm…” Mik shifted in his seat, “About Taln.”“Mm?”“I said there’d be an issue of sex in the apartment and Paw said that Taln was very quiet.”Koln’s head snapped up, pen poised over the paper, “what?”“Taln is very quiet.”“The boy is a rape victim, Mik, everyone but you was told to keep their fucking hands off of him.”“Hm, wonder if that played into Lillow pairing with him,” Mik muttered, “apparently See’s partner, the one male who is banished from both tribes, has been … the male. And the Sidhe aren’t entirely sure that Taln always wants it, but they haven’t said anything because people ways are not their ways.”“I’ll fucking break the bastards legs my own fucking self. Then I’ll hand the cock sucker over to the women and tell them what he did and if there’s anything left after that, I’ll send him over for training our attack dogs.”“Maybe it’s consensual. We can’t know until we ask.”“I have asked Taln if he’s in a relation with anyone and he said no. That boy has never once lied to me, why would he start just to protect a relationship?”“Well… maybe it would be… polite… to find out what’s going on … before you feed him to the dogs.”“Fine. But first I’m going to break the bastard’s legs and hand him over to the women,” Koln snapped at Mik..
