Interlude
A/N: Sorry it's a short one and sorry (again) it's been so long (too long) since i last posted. So I thought I would do a quick, albeit very short chapter. As always, i love the reviews.
Disclaimer: Let's see, uhhh, work of fiction...not paid...no money exchanged hands...no character's were treated in this way...all the bad things are, well bad...any person who thinks this is alright should seek immediate help from their psychiatrist and/or member of the clergy...all character's are made up and are not real, if anyone resemble's any of the character's it's unintentional and my bad.
The rest of the afternoon passed slowly and relatively uneventfully. I knew if I went downstairs to see Mrs. Sinclair, I would most likely end up killing her, and I wasn't ready for that...not yet. I guess the bitch's escape attempt had spooked me a little. I had to modify the plan when I learned Mark was going to China, and I was just winging it at this point. My cat slept soundly on my lap as I watched TV. The afternoon dragged on. Occasionally throughout the afternoon, I heard her sobbing and pleading. After making myself a late dinner at about 8:30, I made my way to their house, gaining access by the key's I had used to drive their van earlier in the morning. The dog was at the door, when I came in and I sushed her as quickly as possible. I didn't want to draw any undue attention to myself. I had always enjoyed being in their house and made myself at home. I kept the lights off when I could and as briefly as I could when unavoidable. I ate the chili that Melody had prepared and slept in her and Mark's bed. The dog slept curled up at the foot of their bed Early the next morning, there was a knock at the door. A police officer greeted me as I opened the door.
"Good morning sir, are you the home-owner?"
"No ma'am, I'm just house-sitting."
"Well, this morning the grandparent's of the children that live here, a Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair, say that their daughter-in-law was supposed to drop her husband off at the airport, then return," she said, referring to her PDA.
"Yeah, I dropped the kids off 'cause I had to go to work. I've got the day off today, but I was expecting the grandparent's to drop'em off last night."
"Well, we're just following up on a missing person's report, we'll be in touch. Thank you for your time," she said and walked away. I admired her shapely ass as she walked away. I made myself a coffee, put it in my travelmug, and took the dog for a walk. A little over half an hour later, we returned, I made sure she had enough food and water for the day and left to get back home and back to Melody. Her escape attempt yesterday and with the cops sniffing around, I decided it was time to end this.
