Disclaimer:
this is a work of fiction or poetry; that any resemblance of characters to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental, These poems are fictional, Some of these poems were written with the help of my friends Apollo,
The Poeverse
Ok this one needs another disclaimer as well, because some lines contain elements from another author, one who I idolize, even as he lies in a grave. Edgar Allan Poe, must be mentioned. I do not own the rights to his stories, and do not mean any ill will to those who do. If this poem seems to have elements from his work, I assure you, it was my intent to create a work based on his work, and not steal or copy his work at all. If there appears to be a valid issue, let me know in a review, and I will remove this poem at once, no argument made.
Now for the man behind the mask, so to speak. I wrote this poem after being upstaged by another one of my friends in the same class that produced the other poems. Her nickname to my coven is Prince Anubis, because in 9th grade we had a major thing for Ancient Egypt. Well, SHe wrote her own poem, to the exact meter and rhythm of Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven. Needless to say, being in a class otherwise filled with idiots, I was a little annoyed, and horribly jealous. She had managed to one up me in every class we shared. So I wrote several poems as a challenge to her and Apollo. Since the three of us were in that class together, we had a lot of fun. At one point we "tribal tattooed" Apollo, with a permanent marker out of boredom. But Prince and I have a competetive nature, Apollo is just dark. SO while he wrote a poem to the title challenge I gave him "If I Were a Fish Man" Yes, the song from Fiddler on the Roof was stuck in my head, and I had fun annoying him with his poem title being repeatedly sung. Prince and I dueled with Poe's work as writing prompts. I got my ass handed to me by her gift with words, and desire to best me at poetry.
So without further delay, I give you, The Poeverse.

The Poeverse
Reality awaken deep,
Deep within my mind,
And so I bent reality,
Into a world of night,
Trees form claws with poison,
Danger forms the ground,
Eyes they watch me everywhere,
So I make not a sound.
I live in constant danger,
In my reality,
But that’s the way I like it,
In a world for only me.
I look to see a raven,
With his bright red eyes,
He’s the form of a spirit,
When that spirit finally dies.
The moon she casts her shadow,
In this place called “The Poeverse”
I see all of these demons,
But my own mind is always worse.
