A/N Finally a new chapter! I'm already getting started on the next one, here's hoping it's steamier.. =)

--

The clock read 7 AM.

Hunter stared at it, a little confused. Firstly because he never woke up this early, and secondly because he felt fine. Totally fine, despite his roller coaster evening. He felt well rested and refreshed.

He heard movement coming from one of the other rooms, but assumed it was Amon puttering around or Ben getting ready for work. A quick glance around the room showed that Amon had been and duct taped their curtains down. The smell of coffee wafted in through the open door and Hunter gently pulled away from Nancy, who mumbled something about monkey children and snuggled around the pillow he’d been using.

Hunter ran his hand through his sleep mussed hair and walked into the living room. Amon was sitting on the floor playing Xbox in front of the TV. The living room was dark, aside from the glow of the TV. Next to no light made it through the windows Amon had taped up and covered over.

“You were busy last night.” Hunter observed.

Amon paused the game he was playing and flashed him a grin, “Well, I’d imagine being burned to death kinda blows.” He got up, suddenly all business. “Do you feel okay? Are you hungry?”

“Um, yeah. I’m a little hungry but I feel great otherwise.” Hunter admitted, still feeling a little mystified about it.

“Oh, yeah, that would be the Bond just cementing itself and working. Paige told me you probably wouldn’t actually notice how much it changed you right off. You heal quick now, remember?” Amon led him into the kitchen and poked his head in the fridge, “What do you want?”

“You don’t have to cook for me,” Hunter said, pulling a mug from the cupboard and pouring what was left in the coffee pot. A sip told him Ben must have been up all night and gone just recently, because it still tasted pretty fresh.

“I’m bored out of my fucking skull, let me cook. What do you want?”

“Whatever, I’m not picky.” Hunter shrugged and leaned back against the counter while Amon puttered around. “You did all the dishes too?” Hunter wondered as he looked at the spotless sink.

“Like I said, bored out of my fucking skull.” He pulled out a frying pan and set it down on the stove.

Nancy walked into the kitchen then, “Morning.” She said sleepily, going straight for the coffee pot.

“Want eggs?” Amon offered. He’d already cracked two in the pan and was already moving to get the pack back from the fridge.

“Oh, okay.” She smiled, pleasantly surprised. “I thought Vampires slept during the day?”

“Some do. I don’t.” Was all Amon said as he cracked two more into the pan. Nancy added sugar and cream to her coffee and set it down to cool while she grabbed the toaster. “You guys want scrambled?”

“Sure. Hunter are we going jogging this morning? Do you feel okay?” She took a good look at him, “You look good.”

“Yeah, I feel great. It-“ Hunter paused at the sound of a cell phone beeping. His eyes widened when Amon grinned at him and pulled the phone in question out of his pants pocket.

“Wh – that’s my Blackberry!” Hunter sputtered accusingly. “You said you tossed that!”

Amon laughed, “Yeah, I was just fucking with you.”

“You asshole! Why’d you take my phone?!” He demanded.

“Well, I lost mine like three weeks ago.” The Vampire stirred the eggs around in the pan.

“So you stole mine!”

“I like the term borrowed better…” Amon demurred, “Remember that chick’s house we busted up last night? That was Paige’s house. I wanted to make sure you were okay so I borrowed your phone to stay in touch with her. You didn’t need it, you were freaking out and sleeping most of the night anyways…”

“I was not freaking out!” Hunter snapped, “You could have fucking asked.”

“But you’re so cute when you’re mad…”

Hunter flushed darkly when Nancy raised her eyebrows at that. He cleared his throat a little, “Phone. Now.” He held out his hand.

“Fine fine, don’t spaz out or anything…” Amon handed the phone back to his Thrall. Hunter quickly skimmed through his inbox. He didn’t see any evidence that the Vampire had been texting all night except for the new message from a phone number Hunter didn’t recognize. Fix my fucking dry wall, it read.

Hunter considered it for a moment before saving it under the name Paige. He texted her back, Sorry about the wall and your carpet. Amon’s a fuckhead.

Boy after my own heart, was her almost instant reply. Hunter chuckled a little. Amon looked over. “Are you talking to her?”

“Yeah.” Hunter took a long gulp of coffee.

“… What about?”

“None of your business. Cook my eggs.” He grinned. Two could play this game. Nancy put some toast on and wrapped her arms around Hunter’s waist, resting her head down on his chest. Hunter kept his phone in his hand and gave her a squeeze, “We can go for a run after breakfast.”

“Okay. Watch the toast, I’m gonna go change.” She kissed him on the chin since they both had morning breath still and went to go get changed and cleaned up.

“Okay.” He replied, and waited until she’d gone before turning to the Vampire again, “Uhh Amon…”

“Yep.”

“Don’t perv on me in front of Nancy. We talked a little last night about… Biting… And whatnot, but I don’t think she needs to have it rubbed in her face that we…”

“Hump like rabbits and like to get our rocks off together?” Amon offered helpfully.

Hunter bristled a little at that, “It’s not like that. It’s just the Bite. Don’t get any fucking ideas…”

Amon turned the heat on the stove down and moved across the small apartment kitchen to rest his hands on the counter on either sides of Hunter’s body, boxing the slim human in. “Hey.” He lowered his voice, “I didn’t force you to spread out underneath me and start moaning and squirming before I even bit you,” Hunter glared and Amon nuzzled his ear a little, “I didn’t force you to bare that pretty throat and ask me so nicely to bite you…”

Hunter repressed a shiver and shoved irritably at the Vampire, knowing he stepped back only because he felt like it. Hunter wasn’t deluding himself; as far as physical confrontations went Amon would win every time unless he felt like letting him.

Hunter couldn’t think of a clever come back so he grabbed a plate and put the freshly finished toast on it, buttering the brown bread evenly. When Amon put it so bluntly like that Hunter found he was having a harder time than he thought as far as coping with his own body’s responses to the Vampire went.

“Eggs are done.” He announced after stirring them around the pan some more. He turned off the burner and took the pan off the element.

“Smells good.” Nancy announced as she walked back into the kitchen. She was wearing Capri length sweats and an old tank top under a sweater. She kissed Hunter on the cheek and grabbed a piece of toast, deciding not to comment on how tense he suddenly looked. “Thanks, Amon.” She smiled brightly at the Vampire.

Amon divided up the eggs and wordlessly went back to playing video games in the living room while the humans ate at the small kitchen table.

“So what was that?” Nancy asked as she and Hunter walked into the crisp, spring afternoon air. Breakfast finished, teeth brushed and sweats on and they were ready to go.

“What was what?” Hunter asked evasively as they started off by walking quickly.

“You two were all cool in there, and when I came back you were pissed off and Amon wasn’t talking. Spill.” She ordered as they started picking up the pace.

“Oh, well. It has to do with what I said last night. You know, how him feeding on me feels good.” He laughed a little, “To put it mildly. It’s really sexual. I mean when he bit me last night, we were both fully clothed. We… Ah… Well I guess we made out some, but it was the bite. I know I came, and I’m pretty positive he did too.”

“Made out, huh?” Nancy tried to keep her tone mild. She wasn’t really the jealous type, but she wanted to be clear about what was going on. She’d even bugged Hunter a few times over the years about how she wouldn’t mind seeing him get hot with a man, but that had always been under the assumption she’d get to watch.

“Well we didn’t kiss or anything like that.”

“Oh no?” Her grin suddenly turned lewd, “What did you do then? Give me details.”

Hunter laughed as they stopped at a red light, “Well how many do you want? Nothing much happened. He kinda teased at my neck and then he bit me. We were wrapped around each other and I think he grabbed my butt but aside from that there wasn’t any groping…” The light changed and they moved into a fast jog.

“Ooo but you two were all entwined together. I bet there was some nice bump and grind action going on,” Her words came a little slower as her breathing picked up to accommodate the faster pace.

“Nancy!” He laughed, “Okay, a little.”

“Just a little?” She probed.

Hunter laughed and shook his head, “Maybe a little more than that.”

“I’m definitely watching next time.” They both laughed at that.
