Chapter 8

The best part of business trips were always the end, when it was time to go home. Arsenio Ferrara had missed his family, and being away for even that short time was too much. Especially when there was supposed to be an exchange student staying with them. He didn't like the idea at all; some strange man staying with his brothers while he wasn't there to protect them. Their family had too many enemies. It was a stupid idea!

It was just time for breakfast when he had arrived back at the estate. Everything seemed normal and peaceful and that was a good sign, but he wasn't going to feel at ease until he saw that everyone was all in one piece. Arsenio made his way into the dining room. Everything was set up already. Food was spread over the table as usual, and Silvano greeted him with a smile. Father and mother were chatting about landscaping the back garden, but they spared him a little attention to welcome him back. Three out of four right away wasn't bad, but he didn't expect to see Eliseo at the table anyway. Probably was eating with the hired help again.

Arsenio took a seat where one of the empty plates were already laid out, and then gazed around. "Isn't there supposed to be a guest? Where is he?"

"Probably still getting ready." Silvano took a long sip of orange juice. "I hope to god he doesn't just roll out of bed looking that good or I'll be jealous as fuck."

Great, that was exactly what he was worried about. His shallow younger brother being blinded by good looks and getting himself into trouble. He scowled disapprovingly at Silvano and crossed his arms. Before he could give the boy a piece of his mind, however, the door opened.

There was Eliseo, and a strange man had an arm around him. Arsenio blinked in disbelief as the stranger smiled politely at him. Even Silvano looked a little confused.

Father, however, flashed a bright smile upon seeing those two and waved at two side-by-side seats. "Come on, eat before it gets cold. Pazhar, this is my third son, Arsenio."

The grin on the dark-skinned youngster's face widened. "Good morning, Arsenio. Pleased to meet you," he said as he moved to sit down where indicated.

That guy had a whole lot of nerve grinning like that. Arsenio watched as his brother claimed the seat beside Pazhar and then settled in to watch him back. Well, he could always hope they just got along really well and there was nothing more to it. "Well... Eliseo. I'm glad to see you've made a new friend."

Eliseo grabbed a piece of toast and a put a fried egg on it off one of the platters. "No you aren't," he mumbled and then took a bite.

Pazhar watched Arsenio silently for a few moments, then quirked a brow and turned to Silvano. "Yesterday I heard there's a haunted lighthouse in the city... is that true?" He smirked as if not quite buying that, then started getting himself some food.

"Well, that's what they advertise as." Silvano grinned and leaned back in his seat. "They give tours and sell ridiculously expensive souvenirs, but the truth is, the murders they talk about didn't actually happen inside the lighthouse. They happened on the seashore, and there have been far more 'ghost-sightings' by lovers on the beach in the middle of the night. I'd love to take you to see a ghost, Pazhar."

Unbelievable. That boy was shameless. Arsenio scowled again, and then looked over at Eliseo. If he was with Pazhar, wouldn't he react to that? But all there was, was the typical roll of the eyes.

The stranger shrugged. "Sure, maybe we could take a look one of these nights." He grinned and turned to the purple-haired brother. "You seen any ghosts? On the beach, or somewhere else?"

"Yeah, I see the ghosts of my family all the time. It's weird, they never seem to shut up." He put down the toast and took a pancake to start carving shapes into it with a knife. As it started taking the shape of a face, Eliseo grinned faintly and shifted his chair closer to Pazhar's.

Pazhar sighed lightly, wrapping his arm lightly around the purple-haired brother. Gazing over at Arsenio, he smirked. "What about you? You into lighthouses?"

He couldn't take it any more. Arsenio couldn't stand just sitting there, guessing at what was going on. He had to know! With a deep, annoyed inhale, he fixed the stranger with a critical stare. "No. I hate lighthouses. Now tell me, Pazhar, have you fucked my little brother?"

With a smile and a shrug, the foreigner turned towards Eliseo. "Well, what do you say? Do you think I'm hot?"

Eliseo reached up to caress Pazhar's face, and then captured his lips in an eager, drawn-out kiss. When he finally pulled away - pressing one last kiss on Pazhar's neck, Eliseo cast a warning glare at Arsenio. "Now leave him alone or I'll make him do me right here."

"I think that's a yes." The foreigner chuckled, then turned to his food.

Father frowned playfully at the couple. "Now, now. You know the rules. No sex at the table."

"I'll keep that in mind." Pazhar smirked, tilting his head slightly as he considered Arsenio. After a few seconds of that, he turned back to Eliseo. "Guess you just surprised your brother real bad...?" He asked with a confused quirk of a brow.

The response was a nonchalant shrug. Eliseo carved fangs into his pancake face and then glanced up at Pazhar. "I never bring lovers home, so that ass has been entertaining the delusion that I'm asexual."

Once the initial shock finally wore off, Arsenio growled. That bastard, coming into his family and screwing everything up! That was not acceptable at all! "The only delusion I've been entertaining was that I had one brother that wasn't a complete whore!"

"Hey," Silvano's face twisted in an insulted pout. "Just one? I'm not a whore either, ya know... I don't charge a fee." He winked at Pazhar.

"You're such a friendly family." The foreigner grinned again, but as he looked over at Father, the grin faded. With a sigh, he resumed eating.

The sound of a chair scraping the floor filled the room as Eliseo suddenly stood up. "You know what, assface? Save your possessiveness and your fucking lectures for someone who doesn't hate you!"

"Eliseo, sit down." Father commanded in a quiet tone, but it was useless. The disobedient punk didn't even acknowledge what he was told.

He turned away from them and started in the direction of the door. "Fuck you."

Pazhar seemed to consider following, and Silvano looked disappointed with that. However, after a bit of contemplation, the foreigner decided to stay, continuing to eat without saying anything further.

Silvano cleared his throat and then smiled at Pazhar. "Don't worry about it, he always finds a reason to take off when he eats with us. There's still time to change your mind and pick me instead."

"Think that'd make your big brother happier?" The stranger shook his head and cast another glance over at Arsenio. "You'll find someone of your own, I'm sure," he said with a reassuring smirk.

"Oh who cares about this stick in the mud? It will take a lot of searching to find someone as hot as you."

Arsenio sneered at his shameless brother. What had father done to go so wrong with two of them, and why the hell wasn't he doing anything about it? Arsenio would have to take care of this bastard himself. He got up and grabbed Eliseo's plate. For starters, he'd try apologising to his brother, and then, he'd get to work on eliminating the enemy.

Pazhar had been somewhat worried after Eliseo took off from breakfast. Should he have joined him? As soon as he had finished his first toast, he went looking, and found the purple-haired youngster in his room, playing video games. He sat down next to him and waited for a moment, but as there was no sign he was noticed, he tentatively slid a hand into the purple hair.

However, it seemed there were no hard feelings. After a bit of touching and joking, they went at it again. It seemed the young Ferrara shared his tastes on that kind of thing. As soon as they were done, it was time to leave, so Pazhar figured he'd have to try catching up with the mathematics later.

Silvano was nice and helpful again, driving him to the college and telling him to call when he needed a lift back. The help was obviously not altruistic - it seemed the guy still hoped to win him over - but it was nice of him nonetheless. However, once he got to school, he quickly forgot thinking about that guy.

As he got into the auditorium, he scanned the back rows for Jae Sun, spotting him easily. Appeared he was seen first, though, by the wave he was treated to. Pazhar smiled and headed for the smaller youngster.

He was still wearing the same basket uniform as the day before. He had another as well, and his mother would certainly have scolded him over wearing something for three days. However, she wasn't there to do so, and he figured it'd give the best first impression with Jae Sun's friends. And Pazhar was a great fan of good first impressions.

School was still difficult, unsurprisingly. It helped to have looked at it the night before, but he could still use some help with it. He'd have to check up on what offers there were. Perhaps the student association had group work sessions or something.

Concentrating on the mathematics was made extra hard by him looking forward to meeting Jae Sun's friends. Maybe he shouldn't put too much into them 'playing all the time', but he couldn't help it. Making friends who shared his passion for basketball would be great!
