Chapter 6 Perfect Exam, Perfect Kiss
Chapter 6 – Perfect Exam, Perfect Kiss
The class started and Alan has yet to arrive. He was late, once again, barging into the classroom and interrupted the teacher from finishing her remark on the test grades. Without saying a word he approached his seat feeling embarrassed while having the entire class look at him. He tried to catch his breath gasping for air and at the same time his eyes landed on Jessica. She looked at him with a smile and the moment her eyes met his, Alan turned away. His face began to turn red. Just as his heart began to slow down from rushing to class, it started racing again from Jessica’s enchanting smile. He tried to look at her from the corners of his eyes.
(Oh God! Her smile is so pretty.)
“Alan, are you listening to me?”
“Oh sorry, Mrs. Woods.” He replied.
“As I was saying, everyone one did really well on this exam. I don’t think there is anyone here who failed. Good job everyone. I will give back the test now.” She placed Alan’s test on his table. “Well done Alan. You got the highest score in the class. Keep up the good work for the next few weeks and I will pass you.”
Alan couldn’t believe his eyes. He could barely pass a test, let alone the highest score in the class? He picked the test up with a smile on his face.
“Okay class, get your notebooks out. Our aim for today is…” Mrs. Woods started after she finished giving back the exams.
When the class was over, Alan and Jessica walked each other out of the school. As they left the classroom, she grabbed him by the hand and placed her fingers between his.
(Why is she holding on to my hand like this? It’s like we are dating or something.)
“Alan? Are you okay?” she asked. “You are so quiet.”
“Oh, sorry.” he replied while his hand started to sweat.
(God! Her hand is so soft. I can’t believe I am holding her hand. Woot!!)
“Hey!! Earth to Alan…are you there? You are ignoring me”
“Huh? Oh! Yeah sorry.” For a moment he felt like he was in heaven. “What were you saying?”
“I was saying that you did a great job on the test and that I am proud of you.” Jess repeated
(I don’t know what to say to her, gee. I am so nervous now. My mind is completely blank. What if I say something wrong? Will she pull her hand back? Beside it’s my first time holding a girl’s hand)
Or is it really his first time holding her hand?
(I don’t want this moment to end.)
“Thanks.” It was obvious that he was nervous in front of her and to make things worse he was holding her hand. His heart was going to jump out. He finally said something. “So, um, why are you holding my hand?”
(Oh, stupid me!! Why did I ask her that? She’ll think that I don’t want to hold her hand. Damn it!)
“Because I love you!” She said it once again. She stood in front of him and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips. “Thank you so much for that night. It was so memorable. I hope you can come over again this Friday.”
(She said it again!!! On top of that, she kissed me!! And she’s inviting me over to her house this Friday…)
“Wait, What???” Alan asked when they reached the corner of the block. “You mean I was with you that night?”
“I will see you tomorrow, Alan.” She went off as the street light was about to change. “Bye!!”
“Wait! Wait!” He shouted. Tried to follow her but the street light has already changed and the cars were moving again. With tons of questions in his head, he headed home.
(First, someone helped me do my report, then my test, and even my confession to Jess? So, I was with her that Friday night. How come I don’t remember a thing that happened on Friday? Whatever, she held my hand and kissed me. All I could think of now is her soft lips pressing against mines.)
