Chapter 8

Chapter Eight

Classes started off with a bang, as usual. Ryan made a list of all the books he would need to get from the bookstore that afternoon and put it aside. Lee’s list was already compiled and they were planning to go together that afternoon. He was just waiting for Lee to get back from his advanced biology lab. The first week always seemed to be hectic.

To Ryan’s everlasting consternation, Danny turned up in his chemistry class. Thankfully, he, himself, had been paired up with Joanne Williams for lab, because he didn’t think he could survive a semester of working with Danny in such close quarters … or Danny wouldn’t survive it, more aptly. Ryan was a patient guy, but that patience only stretched so far.

The phone rang, jarring him out of his thoughts and he gratefully grabbed it up, happy for the intrusion.

“Hello?”

“Little bro!” Bobby’s voice boomed back at him. “How’s it hanging?”

“Uh … hanging to the left today actually,” he grinned. “You?”

“I always swing right!”

His brother’s laugh brought a chuckle of his own.

“What can I do for you?”

“Oh, you’re so formal!” Bobby replied “What can I do for you? Are you a waiter now?”

“Might as well be, since you’re keeping me waiting.”

“Ha ha,” Bobby sneered playfully. “I’m just calling to see how you’re doing.”

Ryan pulled the phone away from his ear and gave it a curious look that was obviously meant for his brother. Bobby never really called him before to find out how he was doing. In fact, his brothers mostly ignored him … up until they found out he was bi.

“I’m doing okay,” he finally replied carefully, not knowing how to handle this development. “And how are you?”

“Stop talking to me like I’m crazy!”

“Bobby, you never call me,” Ryan explained. “How do you expect me to react?”

“Well, I kind of thought I would rectify that, seeing as we’re brothers … and we’re old enough now to get past that whole macho crap.”

“Um, sure.” Ryan was now staring blankly at the wall. “But you do realize I’m still bi, right?”

“What the hell does that have to do with anything?”

“Just letting you know that I haven’t changed my mind,” Ryan shrugged, sitting back in his chair. “And that you can’t make me.”

“I’m not trying to make you,” Bobby sighed.

“You’re not?”

“Nope. … Hank, on the other hand …”

“Can talk till his ass cheeks turn blue,” Ryan finished for him. “I’m not dropping Lee.”

“I hear ya,” Bobby chuckled. “He’s a good kid anyway.”

Ryan nearly dropped the receiver. “He’s a what?”

“A good kid,” Bobby repeated, apparently embarrassed.

“Um, okay.” Ryan decided not to press his luck. If Bobby was giving his approval, he’d take it and run like hell. “So, how’s everyone doing back home?”

“We’re good! Hank’s getting a promotion at work and Mom’s making him a celebration cake right now. Dad’s pissing him off though.”

“Dad is?”

“Uh huh.”

“Why?”

“Well, he and Hank were playing their customary game of chess last Friday and they decided to make things interesting. The loser had to agree to complete a dare of the winner’s choice, no questions asked.”

“Okay … what happened?”

“Hank lost … again. And now Dad’s making him walk in the next Gay Pride parade.”

“What?!”

“Yep!”

The two barked out their laughter for a good five minutes, and tears ended up streaking down Ryan’s cheeks as he wound down.

“Thanks for letting me know,” he managed to get out between guffaws.

“Anytime, little bro!”

Kevin flopped on his and Jason’s bed with a sigh. Classes had started and he was thrilled to be studying art history at a great school … with his lover, too. Sometimes life was good, and other times it was damn good! He was still trying to get used to it though. After so many years of misery, it took a little time to adjust.

“You like your professors?” Jason asked as he dropped down onto the bed beside the small blonde.

“Mmm hmm.”

Kevin crawled over to Jason’s side and melded himself into his lover’s body, sighing in contentment as Jason’s strong arms wrapped around him. He kissed the dark-haired man’s neck and throat.

“How were your classes?” he asked as Jason sighed and moaned.

“Oh … they’re … fine.”

Before Kevin could ask for an elaboration, Jason rolled himself on top of him and fused their mouths together in a searing kiss that stole any thoughts daring to try to intrude. Kevin tangled his fingers in Jason’s dark hair and whimpered sexily, knowing it drove his lover crazy. And he wasn’t disappointed. Jason pushed his groin against the small blonde’s thigh and his arousal was more than evident. Kevin squirmed and pushed back, trying to get closer.

“Easy, baby,” Jason whispered. “We have all the time we want.”

“Want … you,” Kevin stammered out helplessly. “Need … you!”

“I need you, too,” he replied solemnly. “So much.”

Kevin sighed and pulled Jason’s t-shirt up, tugging it over his head roughly. Jason laughed but allowed the molestation. This was, after all, his soul mate. He needed to be close to him, too. They’d been so busy getting their apartment ready for school, and going back and forth between their new place and Gina’s, that they hadn’t had a chance to christen their new apartment yet. Jason smiled softly as he slowly peeled Kevin’s own t-shirt from him, carefully pulling it over his head. Their jeans were the next to go, and Jason took an agonizingly long time to shimmy out of them. Kevin made his displeasure known with grunts and eye rolling.

“No rushing this,” Jason said.

Kevin pouted but his eyes lit up when he saw the tube of lubrication in Jason’s hand. He tore his own pants off making sure his underwear came with them and spread his legs expectantly.

“Anxious?”

“That, too,” Kevin grinned.

Jason coated his fingers in the sticky substance and warmed it up before he inserted one finger into Kevin’s hole. The small blonde sucked in a breath in ecstasy and moaned.

“You are so hot, Kev,” Jason whispered as he bent in and kissed the boy’s throat. “So beautiful.”

“Nnnnnn.”

“I love you so much.”

“I … love … ah! … you … too.”

Jason pushed another finger in and wiggled a little.

“Ready,” Kevin murmured.

“Uh …”

“Ready!”

“O-oka-aay.”

Jason slicked some lube on his cock, lined himself up and tried to slowly push himself in. Kevin had other ideas, and wrapped his legs around Jason’s waist, pulling him in quickly.

“Are you ever going to let me set the pace?” Jason asked with a smirk.

“Nope. Too slow. Need you in me already!”

“I know, baby,” Jason kissed the corner of his mouth. “I know.”

He tried to set a steady pace, but Kevin only put up with it for so long. As soon as Jason touched his prostate, that was it. Kevin bucked and slammed his hips into Jason. Try as he might, the dark-haired man couldn’t resist and soon he was slamming back, dimly aware of Kevin’s heated cries for more as the blood pounded though his ears. He touched Kevin’s shaft and it jerked once then exploded. The contractions in the small blonde’s walls surrounding Jason’s cock milked it and he soon found himself lost in his own release, letting the pleasure completely engulf them both.

“The parade?” Lee asked with a smirk as he and Ryan hauled their books up to the register. “Do you think that’s a good idea?”

“I don’t know, but Hank could use a little payback for all the things he did back in the day. I guess my dad thought so, too.”

Lee shook his head as he dumped his pile on the counter. The gum-chewing redheaded girl behind the counter rang him up quickly as Ryan went around him to the next cashier.

“Hey, partner!” a calculating voice said from behind them.

Ryan and Lee both turned to see Danny standing there with a pile of his own textbooks, waiting to be checked out.

“Partner?” Ryan asked curiously. He slanted Lee a look and saw the red staining his cheeks.

“Lee didn’t tell you?”

The Cheshire-cat smile on Danny’s face made Ryan want to slam the guy’s head into the wall. But he breathed in deeply and held it for a few seconds, then exhaled slowly. He wouldn’t pound the guy into the ground, like he might have when he was back in high school. He wasn’t that guy anymore.

“No, but I’m sure he was going to,” he said instead.

“I was,” Lee agreed. “We just started talking about your family and I forgot about it.” He slanted Danny a scowl at this. “I got stuck with him as my lab partner because he told Dr. Fiorelli he knew me. It’s not like it’s important, anyway.”

“It is to me,” the other guy said with a mock pout.

“Well then you’re the only one.”

Lee took back his credit card from the now-fascinated girl and signed the receipt she held out to him then pocketed its duplicate. Ryan had already done the same and was holding his large shopping bag, ready to go.

“Okay, I’m done,” Lee said and took his own shopping bag.

“What about our news?” Danny asked with a smile.

“We have no news,” Lee hissed, and he turned and walked out the door with Ryan.
