Bye Dani

Chapter 8

The next morning dawned bright an early. Tay had finally left the store at about 10:30, long after she originally wanted to leave but things kept coming up. She got Dani, up and dressed and was eating breakfast in the kitchen when her parents showed up.

“Morning, honey,” Chase told his daughter before giving her a hug and a kiss.
“Morning Daddy, mom,” Tay replied to them both, and then got a hug from her mom.
“Are you ready to depart from the little one for a while” Jae asked her daughter as she shed her coat.
“Not really but it’s okay, I have tons of things to do this week and then we have to re-coop, so I’ll be busy, better her with you where you can spend time with her than with me when I’m going to be running around like crazy.”
“Of course, you have that music person coming here” Chase announced as they made there way into the kitchen by Dani.
“Daddy, its music artist and he goes by the name of Suave.”
“Well, which ever one it is, he better bring in good sales and a good crowd”
“I’m sure he will Daddy, Jess put up the posters yesterday and we got a huge crowd staring at them”
“Wonderful,” Jae told her.
“Well, kiddo are you ready to spend a whole month with Grandma and Grandpa” Chase asked Dani.
“Oh, yes. Auntie Tay said you were going to take me shopping and to the Zoo, I can say my whole alphabet!” Dani announced.
“Goodness!” Jae exclaimed, “That is wonderful”
“Well, I can see we will have an interesting month a head of us.” Chase said, “Is everything ready for her, her teacher knows”
“Dad, she’s not in kindergarten yet, next year, then you’ll have to wait for summer to take her, but yes the teacher knows she’s not going to be there for a whole month, she would like a souvenir from Wisconsin.” Tay replied.
“Really, maybe we can do something about that. What else has to be done?”
“Oh, just some of her clothes, which I don’t know why I even pack for her since you guys have a whole room filled with toys and clothes already but I know there are some things that are her favorite right now, plus her bears and some other things.”
“Well, better get it all, we can’t exactly turn the plane around.”
“Whatever, Daddy, you own the plane you can turn it around if you want too”
“Well maybe I don’t want too. . . Jae, honey, why don’t you help Dani get the rest of her things together.” Chase told Jae.
“Yes, dear,” Jae replied with a sharp look at Chase as she gathered Dani up and went up to her room.
“Tay, we think you should come back home for a while, take a break,”
“Daddy, I’m fine”
“You don’t look fine, you look tired. What’s bothering you?”
“Nothing, I just had some dreams last night”
“About”
“About the baby and everything”
“Why?”
“Well, he’s here, in town”
“That son of a bitch!”
“Daddy, no, he didn’t know, I never told him, you know that.”
“Doesn’t mean I don’t want to tear him apart for what happened. Just like your uncle’s, Jaden, Jason, and James, all want to.
“I know, daddy, but he didn’t know, he didn’t even break my heart”
“Now, that is a lie.”
“But he didn’t know he did, so I can’t hate him for that. He doesn’t know he broke my heart, he doesn’t know about the little girl that I lost that was his. Daddy, I lost her, not him.”
“Oh, baby, no; you didn’t lose her, it was something that just happened, and nothing could have been done about it.”
“But I did, maybe it wasn’t my fault but I still lost her, not him, not anyone else.”
“Oh, Tay, you should not think like that, not that way, none of it was your fault.”
“I know, daddy, but it doesn’t change how I feel.”
“Oh, I see, well… since he is here, what does that mean?”
“I don’t know; don’t tell C.K. or Trenton about this. I don’t need them coming out here to play big brother for me. You know how they are, daddy.”
“I won’t but it doesn’t mean your mom won’t, you know I have to tell her, Jae can never be kept out of things, if I don’t tell her she’ll get mad at me later”
“I know, daddy, that’s fine. I just don’t need those two coming out here and being all protective, plus Dee’s only around for this week and then he’s gone”
“Alright, then it should be fine, right?”
“Right! Thanks, daddy”
“You’re welcome, baby”
“Ok, we’re all ready,” Jae announced as she walked back into the kitchen, glancing at both her husband and her daughter. She knew something had gone one while she had been upstairs with Dani, she also knew Chase would tell her the moment Dani was put to bed.
“Auntie Tay, you’re going to miss me, right?” Dani asked as she bounced around the room.
“Of course, I am Danikins, it will be so lonely without you, I might just have to get a kitty.”
“Oh, really? A kitty? Will it be here when I get back, can I name it, or can we get another one for me when I come home?”
“Whoa, I said ‘might’ not that I will, but it’s a possibility. I always wanted one”
“Oh, yay!” Dani exclaimed as she ran to Tay to give her a hug.
“Well, you’ll just have to wait until you come back to find out, you have fun with grandma and grandpa, behave!”
“I will. I love you Auntie Tay.”
“I love you too” Tay said as she gave her one last hug and kiss. She stood and gave both her parents the same.

Tay walked everyone to the door for one more hug goodbye then she raced back upstairs, showered and got ready to head back into town for work. She really didn’t have to go in today but she wanted to look around and see what she could do for the rearranging for the concert. Tay’s house was just outside of town, she bought it the same year that she purchased the building for the store, well, her parents helped her purchase it, although they said it was part of there graduation present to her, she knew that they just wanted to help her out. She had spent most of her savings and some of her inheritance to purchase both, this way she didn’t have to spend so much. Even if with the extra money she remodeled the house and the store. It worked out for the best.

The house sat up on a small hill, so she could look out toward the town or to the forest that was directly beyond her land, which was about 10 acres. Granted she didn’t need that much but it was a great buy. It has eight-bedrooms, four bathrooms, full basement and all the play area. It was perfect for her and Dani. Four of the eight rooms were occupied; the others were just spare rooms with beds and a small dresser in them. Downstairs was the kitchen, living room, dining room, office, two bathrooms and Dani’s play room. Upstairs was the master bedroom with bathroom and the 5 other bedrooms, one of them Dani’s. It was huge but Tay had always wanted a huge family.

After her shower, she got dressed and wandered into her office to grab some sheets that she needed to take with her to the store. She got into her SUV and took off.
