Believing

Okay, its Wedesday and I promised a update, so here it is. Thanks for all the hits and I'm hoping to get some reviews. Enjoy.

*****************************************************************************************************

“A magical-time-traveling well?” Fang repeated.
“See! You think I’m crazy now” Lasha proclaimed.
“Well…it does sound far fetched. Even you have to admit that” the replied evenly.
“You don’t think I know that! I didn’t even believe it, but it’s true…” Fang was still giving her a weird look, which frustrated the girl. “Look why don’t we forget it. I mean, yeah I have the dress, but maybe the entire thing was a dream, a very scary, realistic dream…” huffed Lasha.
“I didn’t mean to imply that I think your crazy…but…are you serious about a magic well?”
“I’m not pulling this out of a hat. As far as I’m concerned that crazy well is a magical-time-traveling well” Lasha stated, wanting nothing more than to drop the subject.
“Okay” replied Fang.
The boy suddenly went silent, his eyebrows tense up as through he was thinking. Either way, Lasha was not happy and Fang’s silence just made her fell worse.
Great, he thinks I’m nuts. He probably thinking of ways to get me out of his house; I mean would believe there is a magic well in the school basement. Its complete lunacy! That’s it; I’m not going to here the end of this; its going to haunt me all through the year. Now I have to go a faraway college where no one has heard of crazy well girl, Lasha. Damn it to hell, Thought a sad little Lasha. The girl was finally roused from her thoughts when Fang suddenly spoke.
“Let’s prove it” the boy announced.
“What now?” asked a confused Lasha.
“Well…you say that it’s a magic well so let’s see if it’s true”
“Are you crazy?” asked Lasha.
“Come on, I think it’s exciting, I mean if it’s true and don’t you want to know if your claim is real?” asked Fang excitedly.
“I would prefer to sweep the entire thing under the rug and go on with life” answered Lasha dumbly.
“That’s dull. Come on Lasha, aren’t you little curious?”
“You actually believe me?” asked Lasha her eyes wide.
“I don’t know. I mean it’s a crazy idea, but I guess there are weirder things in the world. Besides who to say it isn’t true, unless proven so” Stated Fang proudly.
“Oh my god! Exactly, how are we going to prove the well is magical?” asked Lasha dully.
“Simple, we return to the scene of the crime, and…test it”
“What? As in go into it again. No thanks, last time there was a crazy, big, and mean wolf in there. The thing practically chased me out of that world”
“A wolf?” asked Fang.
“Yeah, like in the play. There is actually a wolf or the “White Demon” as the locals call it. Oh! And Milo and Elena were there two”
“Really, how about Elizabeth?”
“Don’t know, I didn’t see her”
“Wow, we got to try it”
“Hello crazy wolf…and…well movies say not to mess with the past because stuff happens”
“That’s if the well is really magical” stated Fang. “Come on, let’s go tonight”
“What? Like break into the school, you nuts!” exclaimed Lasha.
“What, I’ve done a lot of times without being caught”
“Why am I not surprised” stated Lasha boringly.
“What, scared? Man, you are such a good girl” laughed Fang.
“Am not, I can be adventurous”
“Yeah right, you do everything your mommy tells ya. Follow the rules like a good little school girl” teased the boy.
“Not true” proclaimed Lasha. The nerve of this boy, I am too adventurous. He doesn’t know me, thought Lasha bitterly.
“Oh yeah…” Fang then decided to lean enough to break Lasha’s personal bubble. Lasha breathe hitched as Fang lean close enough for Lasha to smell is rugged scent and to be trapped in his intense gaze. His hot breathe wisped around her cheek, making the flesh alter from cream to pink.
Fang smirked at the girl reaction. Lasha is way to easy, he thought slyly, but her innocence is what turns me on the most. I guess I’ll go for the kill. Crushing his voice to a deep and alluring baritone, the boy went for the kill and whispered...
“Prove it…”
A shiver ran down Lasha’s back at the sound of that rich voice. Her blush intensified ten times over. Why does he do this to me? Damn, and why does he have to be so good at it, thought Lasha, fighting to keep control.
“Well…do I get an answer…La-sh-a?” the same deep voice asked.
The teenaged girl just about melted when her name was broken down so sensually by that siren tone.
“Yes or no?” the boy asked again, easing up.
The thought processes of Lasha’s brain shut down for the moment, allowing her body to nod her head, seeming agreeing with Fang’s delinquent plan.
“Great” announced Fang, pulling away and breaking the spell he had cast on the girl.
“Huh?” asked Lasha dumbly.
“We’ll go after we finish the project. I’ll tell Olivia that we are having dinner at the diner and you will bring me home afterwards, okay?”
“Wait a minute! I didn’t ….”
“You agreed” stated Fang.
“You cheated!” exclaimed Lasha, outraged at the unfairness of it all.
“How so?” Fang asked amused.
“You know damn well what you did” accused Lasha.
“I merely asked you if you agreed or not. I didn’t know there were rules I had to follow to pose a question” answered Fang smugly.
Lasha huffed in frustration. He had got her, hook line and sinker. The defeated girl mumbled a “Fine” Fang smiled in victory before turning back to the project. Whoever thought a school project could bring people so close together, thought the arrogant teenaged boy.

It did not take much longer for the two teens to finish their project. Lasha found herself bidding Olivia goodbye as her and Fang made their way to Lasha’s truck. A moment later the old pickup was making its way down the old dirt road, its destination not the diner but Brandywine High School.
Lasha for the first time in her life came to the conclusion that her school was beyond creepy at night. The entire building looked dead, like what you would see in a horror movie. However, she pushed these thoughts away as Fang instructed her to park behind the school.
Cutting the engine, Lasha and Fang made their way out of the truck. Fang took the lead, beckoning Lasha to follow him into the shadows and away from the safety of the parking lot light. To Lasha, stepping into the shadow of the school was like stepping into a vortex of ink. The whole thing made her nervous. Lasha tried to keep her head and stick close to Fang, who seemed very at ease with everything. Nothing seemed to rattle the boy, even when a frigid wind blew; dropping the temperature and making the trees moan woefully. Embarrassingly enough, the wind made Lasha jump, thus making her bump into Fang’s back.
“You okay” he asked looking over his shoulder.
“Yeah”
“If you’re scared, you can hang on to me” answered Fang amused.
“I’m not scared okay” proclaimed Lasha forcibly. She instantly pulled away from Fang to demonstrate her point. She wasn’t a damsel in distress.
“Whatever” replied Fang, moving forward.
The teens finally stopped when they reached to outside of a classroom window. Fang set to work on opening it. With a little jiggle of his hands the window slid open.
“They haven’t fixed this window in years” explained Fang. “Ladies first”
Lasha gave a glare before entering through the window, closely followed by Fang. Making their way across the classroom, the two teens entered the hall.
If Lasha thought the outside was creepy, the hall was major creepy. The hall was deadly silent. The cheap service lights glowed dim yellow and thanks to the shiny linoleum floor, the light reflected giving the hall an eerie, evil hospital look. However, Lasha resolved to remain firm. After all, it was just school, nothing was here (except the well in the basement, of course).
The journey through the empty school came to an end when the teens found themselves in front of the basement door.
“It probably locked” said Lasha. In response, Fang turned the knob, the door was indeed locked.
“Yup” answered Fang.
“Well, this was fun, I guess we call it a night” replied Lasha happily. Woo-hoo they could go home now, however, Lasha’s happy feeling was soon crushed. Fang pulled a small screw-diver from his pocket and inserted it into the pad lock.
“Not so fast, kitten. I got some tricks up my sleeve” answered Fang off-handily.
“My god, you are a delinquent aren’t you” stated Lasha aloud.
Fang snorted, “Just because I can pick a lock, doesn’t mean I’m delinquent”
“Yeah, well…it’s not a viewed as a positive talent for a teenager”
“Still it doesn’t prove I’m bad” replied Fang with an edge to his voice.
“Maybe so, but what about that fight you…had…” Lasha caught her mistake too late. Bringing up Fang’s bad history wasn’t smart. She expected the boy to blow up at her, so she prepared for the worst.
Fang suck in breath and let it out slowly. Will she never see past my outside, he thought sadly. Regardless, the boy spoke. “I had my reasons; perhaps not my best or smartest moment, but…if given the chance; I would still kick those dip-shits asses again.” Stated Fang as he continued to work on the lock; “I may be rough, Lasha, but I’m not as bad as you think. People just blow things out of portions.”
“I didn’t mean to bring it up. I’m sorry. You’re right, I am reading too much in what people say, but you have to agree you are a bad boy” said Lasha blushing.
Fang chuckled, leaving his bad mood behind, “Yeah, you’re right, but I promise not to bite ya…unless you want me too”
“Wait a minute”
“We’re in” said Fang, successfully cutting Lasha off. The girl pouted in response. He always gets me and then manages to get away with it, thought Lasha.
With the pad lock gone, the bleated old door creaked open. A rush of cold air passed through the opening. A shiver ran down Lasha’s back and Fang shuddered at the cool air. Both youths looked into the inky blackness that was the basement.
“Doesn’t look that bad” said Fang light heartedly. In truth, the young male was slightly nerved by the eeriness of the passage, but refused to let it show. If he showed weakness then Lasha wouldn’t trust him to protect her, thus, the male couldn’t let that happen.
Without further adieu, the two teens carefully made their way down the ancient stairs and into the dark, dank corridor that was the basement. The service lights once again struggled to illuminate the passage with their muted yellow glow.
“Where is it, again?” asked Fang.
“Not that far” replied Lasha.
With no further to say the teens proceeded on. Lasha was not happy. She really didn’t want to be here. At least, last time their were people in the school, but now it was only Fang. The isolation of the whole thing, greatly unnerved the girl.
Pipes clanked and groaned in the dark, mice scurried on the cement floor, and the old service light flickered on and off. In all this, the female barely noticed how she migrated nearer and nearer to the male.
Fang noticed the soft pressure on his back. He glanced to the see Lasha pushing into his back; her hands fisting into his jacket. Fang wanted to say something to comfort the girl but decided that he enjoyed the closeness of the girl better. The boy was overjoyed when the girl suddenly clung to him. They had made it the opening in the wall. The hole itself was taped off, hardly a barrier to keep anyone out. The hole hadn’t been resealed due to the fact that the historical society wanted to take a look at the well. Lucky us, thought Fang.
“I don’t think this is a good idea” stated Lasha, gripping tightly to Fang’s jacket.
“It’s just a well. Odd that one is under our school. I wonder why it was sealed off?” remarked the boy.
“Who knows, maybe because it a magical-time-traveling-well”
“Oh…right, time to put that to the test”
“What!” exclaimed Lasha as the boy moved from her grasped and into the chamber.
“Well, we didn’t come all thins way to look at it” said Fang moving closer to the relic. “It seems someone was nice enough to put a ladder into it. Makes things easier, huh?”
“You aren’t seriously going into it, are you?” asked Lasha with horror etched into her face.
“Yes” replied Fang moving to get onto the lip of the well.
“Fang, no!” called Lasha rushing to the boys side. She fully intended to drag the boy out of there. In spite of this, Fang had moved so he was on the ladder, ready to climb down. He was about to go, if Lasha wouldn’t have latched onto his arm.
“What?” asked the boy.
“Don’t do this. Let’s just go, okay”
“Why, don’t you want to prove your claim?” asked Fang confused.
“It doesn’t matter. Whatever this well is, there is something wrong with it. Please, let’s go” pleaded Lasha, tugging on Fang’s arm.
“Lasha, it only a well, relax. I’ll be fine”
“No!” Lasha tugged harder.
“Lasha! Let go”
“No, you come out!” Lasha argued, still pulling on Fang’s arm.
“Lasha! Let go!” growled Fang before giving a strong tug on his arm. Unfortunately, it was too strong; Lasha tumbled over the edge into the abyss again.

“LASHA!” She heard Fang scream and then things went quiet.
In this time, Fang, wasted no time in jumping off the ladder. Unlike Lasha, the boy was met with freezing cold water.

Lasha thought she would be more surprised to be back on the other side of the well, yet, she wasn’t. The well bottom held dry dirt, and vines clung to the walls, like last time. The only difference was that sunlight not moonlight shined from above.
“Damn. I’m back again” cursed Lasha, standing up. “I hope that wolf isn’t up there. Now how to I go back?” asked the girl to no one.
The young girl looked around, seeing nothing. Out of frustration, Lasha started to jump up and down. “Come on you stupid well! Send me home, damn you!” Needless to say nothing happened.
Lasha shouted before plopping back down to the dirt. With her head in her hands she cursed the well. Her mental tirade would have continued if something shiny didn’t catch her eye. There half way hidden in the soft dirt, laid a necklace. Lasha picked the trinket from the ground and examined it.
The necklace was nothing special, really, but pretty nonetheless. The item was clearly in a Native American style; brown sinew made up the chain, two brown-black spotted feathers adored each end of the chain, small turquoise and white beads decorated the cord, and in the middle of the piece was a white, fanged tooth.
Lasha held the item, gently letting her thumb stroke the sharp tooth. Lasha didn’t know what it was, but she felt a connection to this item. As the girl looked at the necklace she failed to see her surrounding change.
Suddenly, the light and soft dirt was gone, to reveal darkness and cold water. Lasha screamed bloody murder. After the thought had passed, did she scream again when a pair of arms wrapped around her.
“Lasha!” came a male voice.
“Fang?” replied the girl, willing her heart to slow down.
“Where did you go!” exclaimed Fang. “I looked all over this thing. You disappeared!” all but shouted the boy. His breathing was ragged and his voice sounded a little raw. In an instant the arms squeezed tighter around Lasha and a weight settled on her shoulder. “You scared me to death” whispered Fang; struggling to clam himself down.
“I did it” uttered Lasha.
“What?” asked Fang turning the girl around.
“I traveled back! I was there… and then…” Lasha held up the necklace, looking at it intently. “I wonder…” she trailed off.
“Huh?” asked a confused Fang.
Lasha ignored the boy; she clutched the necklace tightly and jumped. Fang’s eyed widen as the girl he held a second ago, disappeared. “LASHA!” He screamed. However, a minute later the girl reappeared.
“Holy…! It the necklace! I must of fell on it the first time and took with me, and then when that wolf chased me and I fell again I landed on it! Wow! It this thing that makes it work!” exclaimed Lasha excitedly talking a mile a minute; proud of her powers of deduction.
“What now? You mean this well is actually magic! I mean…you…you disappeared and…oh lord” stuttered the boy.
“Yeah it real; this necklace…” she held up the item “…is like the key to the well!” said Lasha.
“Really? Can I try” Asked Fang.
“I guess” Lasha handed over the necklace.
“So…I just jump?” asked Fang awkwardly.
“Yeah…” replied. Fang tried it, nothing happened. He tried again and once again nothing happened. He continued a few more times with the same results.
“Um…I don’t think it works for me” stated Fang.
“Huh? Go figure, its works for me” replied Lasha.
“Regardless, this is so…so…cool. Did you see anyone? Like the wolf or someone?” asked Fang excitedly.
“No, I just found the necklace. I didn’t climb out of the well.
“Oh”
“Hey Fang is this Native American?” asked Lasha. Fang looked at the necklace.
“Yeah, it is. Real too, the beads are rough” answered Fang rubbing the beads with his fingers “homemade, most likely smoothed by stones. So I guess that makes it really old”
“Okay. Do you know what animal the tooth came from?” asked Lasha.
Fang looked at the tooth and touched it. “Hard to say, it could have come from a good deal of animals. If I took a guess, it’s either a bear or a wolf, given it size. Either animal is special to the culture”
“I bet it’s from a wolf” remarked Lasha, “given the background, you know”
“Maybe” Fang smiled. “This is totally unbelievable. I bet we’re met to find this place”
“Huh?”
“Yeah, it can’t be a random thing. I bet we were meant to find this well and use it” stated Fang.
“How you figure that?” asked Lasha puzzled.
“Um…okay…we’re doing Wolf’s Cry, which is based on an urban legend, right?”
“Yeah…”
“Well…all legends have some truth to it, so maybe the well is here to tell the truth behind the legend”
“What truth?” asked Lasha.
“Come on, Lasha…Elizabeth is supposed to fall in love with a wolf. Don’t you think that is a little odd?”
“Yeah, but…”
“And there is a wolf back in the past, right”
“And how?” replied Lasha dramatically.
“So, aren’t you curious to see what went on to inspire an entire play?”
“I guess…”
“Then it’s settled we are going to find out the truth behind Wolf’s Cry” stated Fang happily.
“Fang?” asked Lasha.
“Yes…”
“I’m cold and I’m wet and I have to go passed my parents” stated Lasha dully.
“Good point. Let’s go. We can use the school’s laundry room to get our clothes clean before we leave” said Fang
“Good idea” replied Lasha.

Bad idea, thought Lasha. The girl found herself in the school’s laundry room, shivering, and all around feeling dirty. However, her condition was nothing compared what she was looking at; for in front of her was a wet Fang in the process of taking off his clothes. Oh my god, thought the girl as she watch with fascination as more and more Carmel skin was revealed to her hungry eyes (funny, Lasha didn’t knew her eyes were starving). For the moment, Lasha’s eyes were glued to Fang’s strong back. Her eyes followed the sensual curve of his back from top to bottom, and then resting on the firm, perky, roundness that was Fang’s butt. Wow, he has a nice butt. Most guys don’t have butts, but he does, wow, thought the dazed girl. In her dazed she missed Fang glancing over his shoulder to look at her.
“I see you enjoy the performing arts” comment Fang smirking. The comment knotted Lasha from her examination.
“I…I wasn’t staring” utter Lasha, looking away.
“Sure, well aren’t you going to take off your clothes?” asked Fang. This made Lasha’s eyes widen. “You’re right there!” exclaimed Lasha.
“You can leave your bra and panties on” remarked Fang dully.
“Yeah…but…”
“We all went through health, Lasha. I’m sure you don’t have anything unexpected” smirked the boy.
“You…you…pervert!” shouted Lasha.
“Pervert, I’m not the one that was staring, honey” countered Fang. This shut up the female. “Look we won’t be totally naked, so swallow your conservative nature and strip”
“Why do have to say it like that” uttered Lasha as she turned around and began to slowly take off her clothes; her face as red as a fire truck.
Now Fang Linton always thought himself a gentleman, and given the situation a good, moral, gentleman would avoid looking at young lady undress. However, Fang would have to brain dead not sneak a peek at Lasha. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, I must. For the honor of lonely high schools boys everywhere, I have a duty, thought Fang as he imagined some sort of flag waving behind him in some mockery of a patriotic manner (Yeah, it’s a man’s sworn duty to look at naked girls, God bless the male nation). In any case, Fang was not disappointed, a few minutes of shy stripping; Fang’s eyes were rewarded with generous amounts of creamy, smooth skin, and forest green bra with matching panties of a lacy material. Thank you almighty Great Spirit, thought a very happy Fang.
Damn it to hell! Of all the crap I could have worn I had to choose the green, lacy bra and underwear! Oh my god…the humiliation of it all, thought a very distressed Lasha. I bet the pervert is watching right now.
Lasha decided to test her theory and whirl around real quick to catch the ogling male. “I knew it! You are a pervert!” shouted Lasha. The girl was struck dumb when her eyes took in the naked front of one Fang Linton (thankfully…for Lasha that is, the boy had on his blue boxers). Dear sweet lord, thought the girl. Her eyes took in the flat stomach with developing six pack, a chiseled chest that look as hard as rock, and upper arms adored with muscles. Yup, no doubt about it, Fang was a good looking boy. Well worth the title of second king of Brandywine.
“Like what you see, kitten?” asked Fang, a smirk decorating his face.
Crap, crap…I can’t let him win again…got to counter…, thought the flustered girl. The score board was not in her favor, she had to catch up quickly. “You wish…” said Lasha, well…that was a lame come back. Watch him turn this around on me, thought the girl dejectedly. True enough, Fang didn’t look convinced at all, they both knew that. With that fact known, Fang made his counter.
“I don’t know about you, but sure like what I see” remarked the boy, his eyes traveling up the girl’s body without shame, to finally settle on Lasha’s magnificent chest.
I bet you could land a plane on that, thought the over humored boy, I wonder if they are as soft as they look. Needless to say, the male’s thoughts were turning onto a perverted path (Brain versus Testosterone, testosterone currently in the lead).
“Have you no shame?” asked Lasha, trying her best to cover her breasts.
“Yes I do, but its currently on vacation, I can take a message” replied Fang. His reward was a pile of cold, wet clothes hitting him the face.
“Just wash them already, I’d like to go home”
“Okay, kitten…” pouted the boy, “No need to get your fur frizzed”
“Stop calling me kitten!” exclaimed Lasha.
“Aw, but it suits you. You’re cute as a kitten. It’s a complement”
“Yeah right, it’s a pet name. I’m not yours, you pervert” replied Lasha, “I’m starting to prefer, Dairy Queen” muttered the girl.
You’re not mine, yet…my dear, thought the boy putting the clothes in the washing machine. “I say fifteen minutes for the washing and thirty for drying. They may still be damp, but we can’t linger too long” remarked the boy.
“Fine”

The clothes were on their way to being washed, in the mean time, it left two half naked teens freezing to death.
“Damn school, do they have to turn the heat off at night?” muttered a cold Lasha; Hugging herself in a sad attempt to keep warm.
“It would waste money to heat the school when no one is here” remarked Fang.
“Blah! Aren’t you cold?” asked the girl.
“I play hockey, I’m used to the cold. You live in Maine; you should be used to the cold”
“Don’t give that, I see you shivering” accused Lasha
“Am not” muttered the boy.
“Are too”
“Am not”
“Why are we having this conversation?” asked Lasha out of no where.
“Don’t know, we should solve the problem” said Fang as a sadistic smirk made its way on his face.
“W…what do you mean” stuttered Lasha.
“Well…we are both cold, so we should try and conserve body heat” replied the boy; his smile growing wider. He made his way over to the girl. Lasha, in turn, took a step back for every step Fang made forward. This wasn’t the smartest thing to do, for the school laundry room was small; eventually the girl would hit a wall; and she did.
“F…Fang w…what are doing?” uttered Lasha, as she was pressed into the wall. What the hell does he think he’s doing? He’s gone mad! , thought Lasha. The heart began to beat faster, her breath hitched as Fang’s body pressed against hers.
“Trying to keep you warm” whispered Fang in the girl’s ear. He smirked as he felt the girl shiver in response. Ha, too easy, thought the boy.
Fang enjoyed being up against Lasha like this. Their bare skin touching each other, the warmth of their bodies mingling deliciously, her softness against his harness; it was intoxicating. However, Fang knew deep in his mind that he was over stepping his boundaries and should diffuse the situation, so reluctantly the boy pulled away from the girl and gave a playful smirk. “Unless, you want to remain cold, either way works for me. I just thought I would be nice and offer my heat to you” stated Fang, sounding like he was uninterested in the whole thing.
Lasha, in the meantime, regained her wit. She did morn the loss of heat, but wouldn’t show Fang that. She gave him a chilling glare as she wrapped her arms about herself and pushed off from the wall. “I’m fine, thank you” she spat; pouting at another lost battle. Damn him! She thought bitterly.
Great, I pissed her off. But, I have to say, it was most defiantly worth it, thought the boy.
