Broken Angel

Chapter 8

"Jin. It looks like Kanada has a new kitten. Beautiful one, too." A voice spoke removing the binoculars from his eyes.

"Is that so. Describe him to me." The other guy in a dark gray business suit replied.

"Dark shoulder length hair with kind of long bangs. About my height and build and he looks to be rather young. If I had to guess he's probably very early twenties, just barely out of his teens."

"What about the blond with him."

"That's Ashton. He’s a former play toy of Seth's. He works here at the estate as a house servant for Kanada." The other replied then stated. "Anyway, I don't know why Seth wanted us to spy on them. What good will it do for him?"

"It's not our business to ask why he wanted us to do this. You know that."

"Well, should we at least do something to make this more official? You know, like kidnap them or whatever?"

"No, Julian. Seth just wanted information. That is all he asked for. Besides, I believe the chances are really very good that the kitten will crawl right into his lap this weekend at Kielan's grand opening for his new club." Jin answered moving over as the other climbed into the black limo that sat patiently waiting, afterwards the car pulled away from the curb just as a security patrol and another car drove up the long driveway towards the estate.

Once Ashton finished his voice audition, Jai spoke standing and handed him a water bottle from the nearby cold box. "Your voice is absolutely amazing. If only I could sing like that."

"Oh stop." He replied smiling taking a drink from it then added putting it away again. "But thank you. I guess all those years of the church choir and lessons has done it good then." Movement from the security camera caught his attention. He then stated. "Looks like we have company back at the house. Come on."

Jai looked up at the small screen noticing his friends standing there with two security officers and quickly went to catch up with the other. The security guards were about to investigate the grounds when they appeared from the corner of the house by the driveway. Jai spoke first. "Jessie? What are you guys doing here?"

One of the security guys answered first. "They were out front trying to summon someone for nearly fifteen minutes. But when getting no response, they flagged us down, as we were getting ready to patrol the grounds. Glad to know everything is okay, here. Mr. Myers, if you or your friends need anything, you know how to contact us. Good evening."

"Thanks guys." Ashton replied waving to them as they climbed back into their car. Once they left, he spoke. "Come on inside and I'll get us something cold to drink." They nodded following him.

Jessie spoke as they walked towards the kitchen. "This place has some great architectural work and I love the use of the red and black colors."

"Although Master Damian didn't have a direct hand in the building of the house, he did on it's design and the way he wanted it to look." Ashton replied getting out glasses for them. Steph and Leah helped him with the ice and drinks.

Jai said. "Ashton. Let me introduce you to everyone. Jessie plays the drums for Youthful Sin and Cassidy is our guitarist. Steph is Jessie's sister and Leah is his girlfriend."

Ashton nodded then asked Cassidy. "So, it's safe to assume that Steph would be yours, then. Right?"

Cassidy smirked answering. "She seemed to be last night.”

Steph poked him in the side. Ashton smiled leading the way out of the kitchen then added. "If anyone feels like a movie, we have plenty to choose from." They all agreed walking with him into the entertainment area.

"Yes sir. Julian and I saw him today, actually. He is exactly how Tara Takashi said. Julian didn't feel right about spying on them, but I can say that I sure did."

"Very good, Jin. Where is Miss Takashi by the way? I still have some unfinished business to conduct with her."

"I don't know sir. Since she and the young man split up, she hasn't even called me. I had only received that faxed letter from her along with the recent photo, but that’s as far as our connections have gone."

"Very well. I've got to see this kitty of Kanada's up close. A picture of him is not doing it for me."

"Uh sir. I know that Tara was really fond of him and her faxed letter seemed to express regret for what she did to instigate the rift between them. I doubt seriously that she would want to help you get him."

"Jin. I never said what my intentions were for the kitten. But I'm also not the one to give up easily, you know that and so does your pretty brother. Right now, my ambition is to see him in person. But I know that in order to do that, I’ll have to settle for this weekend even though he's going to be under lock and key because of Kanada and my brother. I've got an idea, I want you and Julian to use your charms on that secretary of Tara's to find her. Understood?"

"Yes sir. Oh, Julian's coming. I got to go." He replied then quickly hung up.

"Who were you just talking to Jin?" The other asked walking into the wide bathroom and handing him a glass of wine sitting down on the edge of the tub.

"It's not important. Come on in, the water is just fine now." Jin answered gently pulling the longhaired man in there with him.

"You idiot. Now I've got to have this robe dry-cleaned. What's wrong with you?" Julian said quickly getting out of the water.

"Hey. You told me that when we're not working, I could have you my way. That was our deal, remember?"

"Yeah well. Right now, the dry cleaning bill will be awaiting part of your paycheck. Call it a 'payback'."

"You're too conceited for your own good, Julian. I can't wait until I get the chance to actually break that side of you." Jin responded.

"Dear brother." He replied cupping his chin in hand. "When you've reach the hot status that Seth has with me, I will give you that luxury, again."

"Am I always going to have to compete with him, for your attention?"

"For now. Yes." Julian replied kissing him deeply, allowing his tongue to tenderly manipulate the others, then pulled away before that motion had a chance to register with Jin's thoughts. He sat silently in the bubbles and watched the other leave the bathroom while removing the wet silk robe.

"I can not stand it when you tease me like that, Julian.” He shouted at the empty doorway and was answered by the closing of a bedroom door. He added softly. “Damn you Seth. You’ll pay for taking him away from me." Picking up the wine glass and finishing the red liquid in one drink.

When the movie ended, Jessie happened to look at his watch noticing what time it was. He said. "I didn't realize that it was this late. You guys ready to go?"

Jai asked. "Why don't you all stay here for the night? It'll be much better than trying to navigate these roads after dark. Believe me, I know." He looked to Ashton for support.

The other caught the glance stating. "He's right. There is plenty of room here, all we'll need to do is sheet and blanket the beds."

Steph spoke for them. "Sure, I guess. If it's not too much trouble."

"Nope, no trouble at all. I'll you you two ladies help me." He answered leading the way out of the room.

"They'll be alright with him, right?" Cassidy asked grinning a little.

"Yeah. He's taken." Jai replied with a smirk and led the way towards the second level.

Ashton spoke after checking the third floor rooms. "Looks like the rooms up there are still storage space. So, who wants Master Damian's room tonight?" Jai's friends looked to him but said nothinComeCome with me, then." The blond said motioning to him.

Jai shot them a non-verbal look. Steph and Cassidy disappeared into his room while Leah and Jessie took the other. Both doors closed with their smiling occupants waving goodnight to him. He stated. "Don't think I'll forget this.” he said grinning softly.

"Are you coming, love?" Ashton called out from downstairs. Jai looked over the railing at him, then headed downstairs to the main floor.
